Dollmore Model Glamourous Bust Body - LE Eva, Leah and Mellow

Mar 17, 2009

    1. I agree with you Stella Maris. BJD's are already designed to supposedly be the 'ideal' image of a woman. We don't all have to be skinny with giant breasts that defy gravity! I have friends with large breasts, but they don't do that. I feel that it is almost like seeing a doll designed to ridicule the American stereotype of large-breasted models.

Anyhow, no more debating for now. I have no problem with people liking the dolls. I'm just hoping that more doll companies don't head in the direction of unrealistic body image like this. Real women, dammit! ;)

    2. Do you really think they're any less realistic than a lot of the dolls that are already being sold? Heck, even a regular bodied model doll is pretty unrealistic, I don't know many women who look like they do. Honestly, most BJDs have unrealistic bodies or faces or proportions- just because they're less noticable than a Barbie doesn't mean they're spot on to real life. ;) This just adds some variety to the perfection freakshow.

    3. I want to see pictures!!!*_* Please post some when she arrives!!;)

    4. I just ordered an Eva Louise. :D They've really gotten better with faceups over the years. I love the ginormous boobs! Like others have said, she'll look so awesome in corsets and such. They'll be great at cosplaying large-bust anime and game characters. I'm soooo making a Tifa costume for her around Halloween. :D

    5. Oh man I loled. But holy crap she would make a very lovely drag queen!

I am also wondering that. I am also wondering why no one has questioned lingerie on the less busty girls but there is such outrage for these?

Hmmm might make an interesting debate topic, maybe someone with better working than mine should start one...

    6. LOL I thought the exact same thing!!! now ESPECIALLY with the XL bust

    7. i love both of their face sculpts. they are gorgeous dolls. and when i scrolled down, i was like "WHOA! Holy BOOBS Batman! :o" my husband was quite shocked lol.

gorgeous otherwise, but not really my style with the big chest.

    8. They are quite lovely, but I think the breasts are a little on the large size. The main thing that popped into my head was, "where are you going to find clothes to fit that chest?"
Of course, I sort of have the same problem myself- a large chest that doesn't fit into many shirts that aren't medium-large sized when the rest of my body would comfortably fit into a small.
As for the 'real girls don't have breasts like that unless they go to a plastic surgeon' bit is a bit insulting. True, they are a bit gravity defying, but that's the norm in anime, and indeed in western cartoons as well.
I also wonder about the double standard when it comes to resin vs vinyl large bust dolls. Why are big resin breasts so different?

If you don't like it, don't buy it. It's very simple.

As the large(er) busted dolls are limited edition, I'm betting you that people asked for it. Dollmore is a pretty accommodating company.

    9. haha, i showed these girls to my fiance, who hates/fears dolls. he said 'those i could let you get. it's hard to be afraid of boobs.' i rofl'd.

but i have to agree that they went too far. they could've easily made the girls curvier or the boobs more natural...instead they look like pornstars. their names sound like it too. srsly. and yet...i kinda like eva.

    10. Does anyone think that they will make it a option on the other Dollmore Model girls?? I also wonder how soon they will begin making clothes for the more bustier girls?? It's only 3cm more than the normal Model girl breasts now.

    11. They seem to have a number of stretchy and loose clothing items for the model girls, so there's hope for some things, I'd think. I do hope they make some clothes for them, though.

    12. I asked Jee the same question....see my post #72

    13. :dohHmmm let's see which card I can use to get her........better ask hubby tho, thanks for posting that Pam how could I have missed it??*_*

    14. I hope they offered the chest piece as a separate option like they do for hands and feet :D Cause I would love the option of being able to change the appearance of the doll every so often (just not have that all the time lol). And I always figure that if they are too big, I can always sand them down :D

    15. I perfectly agree with you! ^o^ <3

    16. I'd like to get one, but I think they're going to sell out soon. There are only 2 Eva Louises left and approx 12 Leah Coxs. I'm guessing they'll probably offer the bust again as a special or possibly even as a large bust option on the normal range considering how fast they've sold out.

    17. I might be in the minority, but I really hate the gravity defying enormous breasts. They just seem too out of proportion to me.

    18. Another guy here; I only read the first page of this thread; a LOT of replies. I got to say, and risking bad rep points with all the ladies of the forum; but I say the dolls are gorgeous. I never liked Eva's face, but I always thought Leah was very pretty. And with this face she's prettier than before.

The thing about the body is this, in my opinion; the model doll females have such long legs and their torsos are slightly small in contrast. I'd go as far as to say this was an "abstract" improvement. Besides, Ball-joint-babes never look like real women, regardless of "anatomical" correction. They really aren't meant to. Same goes for the males. But I'll admit that's an impulsive first-glance first-impression reply, and I'll reserve that my mood may change about it later.

I want the white one so bad. I just don't have the money though. I'm going to try and save for her, as crazy as it may sound. I've always wanted a Dollmore model anywho. I hope they don't sell out quickly.

But wait, I'm confused, are you guys saying these dolls are made of vinyl?! Is that why they're so inexpensive for SpecEds?

honestrabbit's post is quoted here just for the sake of contrast. I think his is a fair opinion indeed.

    19. I think part of it is that the Dollmore Model girls - at least the way they appear in these release photos - already have such exaggerated propotions. They're very long, leggy in that supermodel-thin sort of way. Most supermodels don't also have extremely large busts (because of how body types seem to fall out), so the new piece on the Model girls seems a bit shocking. By contrast, the DD girl bodies are shorter and have more curves per cm, so to speak. They don't have that stretched out look that the Model girls are well-known for. Also, the DD character dolls are just that - dolls made specifically to represent relatively well-known anime characters that are known for their unrealistic proportions (especially in the bust). I'm not that familiar with the new DD bodies, or with the DD character dolls that have been released in the past year or so, but I'm guessing that if you stood one of them next to a Model girl with this new bust piece, the Model girl's breasts would have more impact just because of how elongated she is. Whether they'd actually be larger, smaller, or the same size I don't know.
