The Tonner Doll Company has been selling their version of 14" Betsy McCall (who is actually closer to 12") for more than 10 years & there are tons of outfits & patterns available for her. The TDC club doll "Child Jane" uses the same body as Betsy. Berdine Creedy's 13" vinyl "BJDs" can share outfits with Betsy, and presumably with Narsha. Some of the knit Groovy Girl outfits (they have cute tshirts) also fit Betsy, although I guarantee their pants will not go over Narsha's thighs. Tonner also produces the "Mrs. Willowby's Class" dolls, which are slightly shorter & tubbier than Betsy, and its subsidiary Effanbee sells 14" Toni dolls who are in the same size range. Finally, Kish & Company has just introduced a new line of 14" vinyl not-quite-BJDs which are selling *really* well to collectors. All of these models are popular enough that eBay or www.thedollpage.com should get you quite a few hits. But if you like the Old-Fashioned Girl look, you might want to check out outfits available for the antique doll called Bleuette, who celebrated her hundredth birthday in 2005. Most Bleuette dresses also fit Betsy, although I've had to slash open tight sleeve cuffs to accommodate Betsy's larger modern hands (and of course Narsha's hands & feet are even larger than Betsy's). The best part is that Bleuette was intended as a doll to teach little girls sewing, so there are 100 years of patterns available for her, most of them very adaptable & easy enough even for beginners. Now that I've been lured to the BJD Side, I'm very interested in getting a Narsha of my own, but that won't be financially possible before Xmas at the earliest. But I'd love to see more pictures of her!
Oh thank you so much! I just got my wisdom teeth taken out so I'm not feeling well but I'll give you some Narsha picture links later. ^_^
Hope you're feeling better today! I'm so bad, I'm searching for outfits for a non existant Narsha now, LOL. All I need............
I actually just commissioned member Sylphide to make a Narsha size dress for me, her work is amazing. You do have to sit on top of her thread though because she does not do a ton of stuff. That said, other commissioners may be willing to do clothes for Narsha.
Ingie: Wow... sorry, haha Oh and thanks so much, I'm oddly feeling worse (probably 'cause I've been awake unlike that past couple days, haha) Stella: I wanted to actually avoid that... I was just curious to see if there was different dolls I could put into the searches and find already finished products. I'm horrible with waiting, haha
Clothes for the new 14" Kish dolls like Lark, Piper and Raven should work and clothes for them should be appearing. If I have time to get Narsha out, I will try Lark's dress on her.
I checked out Lark's measurements against Narsha's a few weeks back, and Narsha is quite a bit slimmer. Nothing a few nips and tucks on the patterns for Lark wouldn't cure though. Narsha remains on my wishlist
I have a Boneka dress I bought for my Kish Lark that was made/fitted on a Narsha and it's almost a perfect fit (just a little long in the sleeves) http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f190/guyelfkin/Dolls/P8260154.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f190/guyelfkin/Dolls/P8260152.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f190/guyelfkin/Dolls/P8130103.jpg The third picture shows the extra length of sleeve - it's not much.. and only applies on long-sleeves stuff, so probably even long sleeve stuff for the 14" Kish dolls would fit Narsha OK. This outfit isn't part of boneka's regular line (yet) but they have several items for the 14" Kish dolls on their website http://www.boneka-dollfashion.de/ep...=/Shops/61533279/Categories/Puppenkleidung/36 and even a couple listed for Narsha. http://www.boneka-dollfashion.de/ep...Shops/61533279/Categories/BJD-Kleidung/Narsha EDITED TO ADD: I've seen several pretty outfits for the 14" kish girls come up on E-bay in the last few weeks too. Hope this helps Teddy
Ah! So much good information, thank you greatly Teddy! Sadly I don't speak... anything other than English, but E-Bay is a great place so I can check it out there. Thank you! Thanks everyone!
These jeans look great, but if Narsha is slimmer (but someone else said chubbier thighs?? How would jeans made for 14" Kish, but are "too large for Tonner dolls" fair? Your opinions please, and why the heck am I looking for clothes for a doll I don't have yet? LOL
Me neither Fortunately, however, the Boneka website has both an English and an American option and the girl who runs it (Kayotic, here on DoA) is fluent in English. Teddy
I have a Narsha, she was my first BJD and has been with me since September 2006, I love her to bits! If you are getting a Narsha, I don't think you'll be disappointed! I make clothes for her and have a commissions thread here on DOA in the Marketplace. But if you'd like to see some photos of my girl, here are some links to her albums..... http://picasaweb.google.com/dambuster01/NarshaGetsAnOverhaulMay08# http://picasaweb.google.com/dambuster01/NarshaAdoptsADonkey# http://picasaweb.google.com/dambuster01/NarshaByDollmore#
Couldn't resist bumping up with a photo of Narsha and her brother Jack (Yo-Sd Ayumu). Narsha's outfit made by me.
