Dollmore Trinity Discussion - Part 2

Jun 8, 2016

    1. I have two saddle stands and I love them. I can just plunk my doll down and make sure her legs are straight and she is secure. I have the first version waist stand and it truly sucks. My dolls fall right out.

    2. I own the waist stand and one of the problems with that one I've noticed is she sometimes wants to slump under her own weight or sometimes when I'm messing with her head/arms she likes to pitch forward from the waist sometimes. Does this happen for anyone who owns the saddle stand? I'd like to get it if it's any better, but if the improvement is only mild I'll spare myself the expense.

    3. I swear I commented on the saddle stand before, but im too lazy to find the post since it clearly isn't here, lol. I really like it! You just have to be sure the teloscoping part of the upright is both tall enough (her weight needs to rest on her crotch, not her feet) and is also TIGHT. Really crank it. If the telescope starts to collapse, she goes down immediately. I've only had her flop at the waist once or twice, and it was because I was actively manipulating her, or was trying to test the pose limitations of the stand. Totally solid otherwise, she's been displayed standing since I got her, and I don't worry about her!

    4. Howdy folks, its been a while! New trinity set!

      Small orgel Eugenia

      Dollmore.net :: Everything for Doll & more

Had to Google this one-- looks like "orgel" is a word more common in Korean, referring to a crank-style music box. Makes sense with her story snippet

Im safe from this one, but I like the more late 1800's (?) Look. Feels just a smidge underwhelming somehow, but maybe that's me, I think im just used to seeing dollmore sets with more texture and patterns and baubles, like Fake Wedding klaire or dancing through life Kate (plus I own sugar amnesia elysia). This one certainly feels a lot more sensible and modest in comparison :3nodding:

I discovered yesterday that I can actually get a nude Trinity to stand unassisted-- precarious, not solid, I wouldn't walk away from her-- but that gives me delusions that an aggressive sueding and wiring may have her standing unassisted while clothed. Looks like she has wobbly hip joints; makes me think of Doom Bomi.

      That's a project for another day... that's quite a sit-down project *_*

    5. I love the era of clothes, but I wish they hadn't done such dark colors. It does feel a bit plain compared to some of the other sets for sure. I'm safe from her, though I hope to see others in other palettes from this time period.

Also, thank you for reviewing the saddle stand! I'm going to bite the bullet and get one for my Elysia. I never found a proper chair for her (she needs a throne, honestly) and I think she would look better standing. I was just always afraid of her falling.

    6. I am so sad that the new Eugenia becomes available at such a high price and not a good time....
I really want an Eugenia but I am moving this summer, no doll money until fall at least D:

I wonder, does the price include heeled feet and different bust or is it really only big bust and flat feet ?
At this high a price I would expect more from the fullset...

    7. The price only includes one pair of feet and one bust. The additional feet are $180.

    8. And the large bust is $200 to add-on (not sure if the price is the same if you're adding on the small bust.)

As someone who has both busts, I honestly can't say I reccomend having both. The difference is not noticeable enough to justify a $200 add-on. To my eye, the busts read more like different types of busts, not necessarily different sizes. Its like having a medium and an extra-medium, not a small and a large, if that makes sense lol. The small bust is more teardrop, while the large bust is more round and full and "dolly" (but not balloony), but i wouldn’t call it that much larger... or maybe doll boobs have ruined my perception of small and large, lol. Personally, I think im going to put on the large bust and dump the small bust into the closet and forget all about it, but we shall see. (I want the more mature/busty look for my girl, but the small bust feels right with her existing hips and waist size)
Unstringing/sueding/wiring is going to be a real sit-down project, maybe this weekend. But when I do it, I'll be sure to get detailed pics and comparisons of the busts. There's not a lot of info out there on them.

    9. So maybe one bust is natural and the other is push-up. To look better in like lingerie or corsets or such.

    10. I would think that is what they went for ?
I feel the large bust is just not has natural from the few pictures I've seen.

I would switch to the small one and just have that one.
For the feet I know where to find them but I have not seen any for the busts.

    11. You have to ask them separately to buy a bust, and they'll make a custom listing for you to add to your cart

    12. I don't know if anyone has seen the update on Dollmore's instagram, but apparently they're now selling Trinity girls without faceups. Wish they'd done that all along, heh. Doesn't look like you have a choice in buying the full outfit though.

    13. I’m shocked. They’ve been so strict about not allowing you to change anything about their makeup or outfits. Maybe they’ve got such a backlog in the makeup department they had to finally relent.

    14. I thought they would allow you to purchase a Trinity without a faceup, they just wouldn’t drop the price of the fullset to reflect the change.

    15. That is true, @Stormlight , bt it looks like they're finally making it truly optional (with price adjustment)... a trinity faceup is $180, apparently, which honestly doesn't sound right to me, but its better than no discount!

Edit: well, nevermind, I suppose it makes sense enough. I was thinking that seam sanding is $300, but thats a different type of labor. Hands and feet blushing are $50 a pair, so I guess $180 for the face isn't really farfetched!

    16. Hi Trinity owners, I have a question for you... I've seen the space inside a Trinity's chest and it's fairly sizeable, but do you think I could put a bag (about 6x6x4 but I'm sure I could squish it around) inside without interfering with her stringing?

    17. Just ordered my first Trinity (Lumie) and very excited. Don't get a faceup though, so when I got the paypal invoice she was 20% off which was nice!

    18. I ... really couldn’t tell you. I’d assume it’s strung the way most dolls are, with elastic going from her neck down through her legs and then a separate piece strung crosswise through her arms. The bag I’d assume would sit at the bottom of her torso, it might interfere with her joints even more than her stringing, like the ends catching between the thigh joints and hips. I’m really curious to know why you want to put a bag inside her.

If it’s squishable enough, would it fit inside her head, instead?

@AeternumVale congrats on ordering your first Trinity! Lumie was my first, too, and she’s gorgeous isn’t she?

    19. Well... it's actually a bag of human ashes. My mom recently passed and one of her wishes was for her ashes to be "put into a doll that looked like her" but the instructions were very vague, so I'm looking at different options. The bag they're in is in plastic right now, but I would also put them in a cloth bag (maybe canvas) because plastic will degrade. I'm not sure how much I could squish it around, as it's fairly dense, so I don't think the head would be big enough? How big is the space inside?

    20. I don’t know, but likely smaller than the space inside the torso. I’d have to measure it. I really don’t see that being a good idea to put a bag inside the torso as even cloth, if it does end up catching in the joints, might eventually wear down and potentially tear. If it’s very compact without a lot of give, it could interfere with the stringing, as well. Plus, cloth is porous. Ashes might somehow leak through all over the doll. Unless you put it in a plastic bag inside the cloth one or somehow seal the cloth with a waterproof coating.

I’ve heard that it’s possible to make diamonds out of human ashes and turn it into jewelry for loved ones to wear. Maybe placing something like that inside the doll might work? Although I guess that might be a little more pricey to do.
