1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Dollmore Trinity Discussion - Part 2

Jun 8, 2016

    1. If there is already a post on this please remove but I didn't find one in my searching. Im currently saving up for a 110cm dollmore trinity doll specifically Klaire. I was wondering who else has one of these size, my main questions are:
What are the pros and the cons?
Does the size make it impossible to pose well?
Is finding wigs, clothes, shoes etc difficult?
Are 1/3 scale dolls better with avaliablity of both doll & accessories?
I would really love a BIG doll but don't know if I would be biting off more than I can chew. I can make wigs and clothing but shoes are a whole different level for me personally to make.
I've been debating between 1/3 instead but the bigger size really appeals to me.
      Thank you for your time.

    2. Thank you so much for letting me know! :D

    3. @CraftAlley I wouldn't say I'm an authority on trinities, but I do have one so I'll try to answer some of your questions.

I love my big girl, but, for me she is too big to do anything with and she just sits in her chair. She's very cool to look at, though. Dollmore makes clothes and such for them, but I don't know of anywhere else.

I would definitely say 1/3 is easier, but that is a broad range in itself. I've noticed most shops tailor to SD16 or SmartDoll lately. If you're going to make your own clothes, see if Dollmore has enough assortment of shoes for you in the trinity size. Maybe someone else can suggest more shops too?

All in all, if you really like the appeal of the bigger dolls, I'd say they're worth it, but the smaller ones have way more options, as far as I can tell.

    4. A smaller Eugenia might be more affordable. I love her face up and the version with the Edwardian cap and tipped hat. If only they made her smaller and thus more manageable too.

    5. I finally ordered Edna dress up last night! She’ll be my first Trinity doll! I’m thankful that they have layaway! Hopefully I’ll pay her off early, so I don’t have to wait as long‍️.

    6. Thank you for the information I will keep that in mind while deciding.

    7. I've been wanting a trinity girl so every now and then I check back on the dollmore website, and omg, has anyone else seen the banner teasing new trinity boys?? I can't wait to see what they come up with for face sculpts!

    8. I am also really looking forward to seeing what the Trinity boys will look like!
They also have a new girl sculpt named “Charlotte”, coming out soon. From the sneak peeks they posted I think she looks gorgeous!

    9. I finally bit the bullet and placed Disillusioned Marienne on a year layaway with a pair of flat feet a few days ago. :dance
I told my husband that if we don't have or want any children by the time I'm 40 I'm getting a Dollmore Trinity BJD. I'm not 40 yet. But by the time I'll get her, I will be. :XD:
So now the real wait will begin. I've never had this long of a layaway nor wait for a doll. Any tips to keep me sane while I wait for a year? Besides looking at moar dolls.... Like Akheilos 2.0, the merman BJD. ;)

    10. Congrats on the new order! I’ve put … two dolls on a long layaway so far. It’s definitely a long wait, but when I think that some dolls, even if they’re fully paid, I STILL have a six-month wait for them to arrive, it makes it a little more bearable. :XD:

Oh, the boy sculpt! You know, they already released a sculpt that’s technically a “boy”, but so far he’s only been on female bodies. I’ll bet he’ll be the first one released on the male body. I’m hoping for a more grown-up version of the Lusion Dell, myself. He is such a gorgeous sculpt and he works really well for either body! He’d be a stunner in a more adult form!:love

    11. I finished paying off my Edna Trinity doll on May 14th! The order is still awaiting shipment (I keep checking)! I am too excited, I know it's supposed to take awhile but I wish I knew when to expect her. I also keep checking the site for the Trinity boy doll!! I'm sure he will look awesome!

    12. So.... I went to a doll show this past weekend, and someone was selling a Trinity Elysia. She is so gorgeous in person. I figured I could resist the temptation, because I didn't have $1,500-$2,000 to spend (nor did I want to). Then they told me what they wanted for her, and it was less. A LOT less.

I now own a Dollmore Trinity Elysia. I'm looking at parts on Dollmore's website (heel feet, hands). I realize that the resins are different colors now. I have a new Zaoll, so I can compare the two, but I've never really cared if my resin matches perfectly. I have an airbrush. *shrug*

Question for the group: Has anyone sprung for the jointed hands yet? Care to share a picture? (please and thank you!)

    13. Has anyone seen the new boy they finally released? 122cm tall! :aeyepop: Plus improved jointing that I really wish they’d implement on the girls, too.

    14. I want him, but at 25lbs.... I am gonna need to hit the gym first.

    15. He's 20 percent off, too, which can be a substantial savings for a Trinity.
Dollmore Abby previously told me that the sculptor was working on the Trinity girl body to improve its posing ability and joints, and Abby estimated that the updated body would be released this year.

So - I sprung for the jointed hands. I will let you all know when they arrive, and what I think of them. I also learned a few things that I thought I should pass on:
Dollmore recommends 5 mm elastic to restring the entire Trinity female body (arms and legs).
Dollmore sells 3 mm craft wire (the largest size they sell), but Abby said that 3 mm is too small to wire a Trinity girl body. I'm going to try it anyways.
Abby recommended getting extra silicone wig caps and cutting them up to use to suede Trinity joints.
If you want to purchase a Trinity carrying bag, you have to pay full Trinity shipping (even if no doll is included), because they have to use the Trinity doll box to ship the bag. From (South) Korea to Ohio, that would have been an extra $120 USD for shipping. I decided to pass on the bag.
Dollmore does not sell patterns for Trinity dolls (but they do sell patterns for their other dolls). I've purchased a couple sewing books on how to size up/down patterns, so I'm going to try that. I'll post stuff in the Project Journals.

Here are (bad) pictures of my Elysia. She's now holding my Zaoll Luv, which she has claimed as her doll. I can't believe how gorgeous her face-up still is. The enduring power of Dollmore face-ups, man.

    16. All of my Dollmore dolls still have their original faces. Including my Model boy, Ash, who I purchased in 2007 with a custom face. They are amazing! :3nodding:

Also, great info to know about the Trinities! Can’t wait to see what they come up with for the girl bodies.

    17. I decided against the male trinity when I heard how tall he would be. Now that he has been released, I don't like his style either.

    18. that's the same height difference between myself and my spouse, and many, many other adults and their partners. It's 100% fine if the height difference isn't your jam, but saying it makes the shorter person look like a child is a little bit offensive
