    1. Why would someone take their dolls to a mall?

If you have large dolls, try a suitcase, they have wheels so they're easy to transport nowadays. That's what I see most people use; I use them myself. :)

    2. You could always get a baby stroller and roll along your doll. The look on people's faces when they take a better look at it would be priceless.

    3. i would take one to a mall for a meet, or if i know theres something specific at the mall for him i'm looking for. but other than that. probably NEVER! 0.o

    4. I dont think i could ever take my doll to the Mall too busy and too easily hurt.

    5. Only if there's a meetup, during other times like shopping a definite no. The dolls much too cumbersome to carry around when all I want to do at a mall is window shop and browse.

    6. I've taken dolls out just for the heck of it, and the only comments I seem to get are the "Why does that guy have a doll?" ones. I've got a couple of "ooh, that's creepy" and "Oh hey, cool!" Usually my wife is along with me, and she'll have one or two of hers... We took a few of ours to our local Renaissance Festival this year, which I know, isn't a mall, but there are a lot of people. We never had a problem. I'm really anal about my Ju, since she has rather thin elf ears and I constantly checking to make sure they are fine, but I'm usually holding her, so it really isn't an Issue, unless I'm bumped into.

    7. I brought my doll to the mall once....and tripped over the carpet at the entrance. Luckly he was in my bag and was unhurt.
I would probaby bring him again as long as i looked out for tripping hazards.

    8. I wouldn't bring a doll just for the sake of bringing her, she's far too expensive and I would be uber paranoid. However, if for whatever reason I went for a shoot or something where I would go, take pictures, and leave I might. The people at our mall are pretty lax, I rarely see security either, so they wouldn't be a big issue. And patrons usually just go about their way.

    9. Definitely. EVERYWHERE.

If I take my doll with me through Manhattan ((around the Times Square area)) on a whim, I'm pretty sure a mall isn't a big deal at all. ((And I do take my doll with me often.))

    10. I wouldnt take my dolls (SD) to a mall unless they were hidden away in a bag and stayed in there. ^^; In addition to worrying about their safety, I don't generally feel the need to draw that excess attention to myself. XD

    11. I've taken my dolls to malls before. A couple times we went for a meet up. Several times I went with some doll-friends, just for the fun of it (the comments always amuse me), plus it's fun to see what kind of props you can randomly find. I've also taken mine by myself when I was just running in and out for a quick errand, or hanging out. Now, in that last instance, I used to work in that mall, so most the mall employees recognized me, if not knew me, and most times I was hanging about my store, or was doing it because a coworker asked about them, or made some comment about my dolls. For serious shopping, I wouldn't take one with me.

    12. Only if I was meeting a fellow collector. Otherwise it's just too much trouble to cart them around, even in a carrier they get rather heavy and cumbersome. Also there are the stares (if not in a carrier.) Lots of stares.

    13. i would bring my boy out but im not if i want to bring it to the mall because if scare im going to drop it is while im shopping.

    14. I took my doll to a mall once, after I had first gotten her, so I could have her on hand to find items her size. Some of the staff at a few of the stores I went into adored her and wanted to hold her.

The only issue I had was when I left her with my mother for a moment while I went to a different part of the dollar store we were in to get something. A lady came up to my mother and asked her if she had found my doll in the dollar store and where in the store she had found my doll. xD

    15. I still think taking a doll to the mall is silly. I've done it maybe twice with an MSD - and they were kept in my bag out of sight; They were brought with me to look for inscale furniture and props. I don't see a point otherwise. I also have absolutely no interest in mall meet-ups. I think it's a silly idea - most malls don't want you taking photos, aren't good for photos and the malls for shopping. : \ I'd rather meet up at someones house and set up a photo area, or meet-up at a local park with nice scenery.

    16. I've taken my guy into a mall, my mom was dragging me to look at shoes and dresses...

I HATE shopping... well okay, I like shopping for toys but NOT clothes. I normally buy from Goodwill.

So I had Sol to make me feel more comfy. ^_^ (and to keep me from having to try anything on). People stared of course, which I found to be amusing, but then the most miraculous thing happened. The lady at the dress shop ran up to me and asked me if he was a Dollfie! I was amazed anyone knew the term so me talked about dolls for a while, I even gave her a card for Junkyspot (I had some left from Sol's box). It was fun!

People might look at you weird, but so what? if you aren't one of the freaks you're part of the boredom. ;)

    17. I don't bring my dolls with me to the mall. I don't hang out at the mall--I'm there to buy. I wouldn't do anything with my dolls in that kind of shop setting. I don't look for clothing/props, so I don't need the doll for size comparison. For me, having my dolls with me would be one more distraction/inconvenience.

I think this is primarily affected by your use of the mall.

    18. Bah! No, I would never take mine out to the mall. But then again, I also don't take them out many places, as others do. I've gone for a jaunt or two around the local mom and pop "main street" before with them, but that's been about it. And that was with a friend, for the purpose of going into the doll shop.

I just don't feel comfortable with dolls in public unless it's for a meet. It's not like it's the staring thing (being a chick with a mohawk isn't exactly how you go about "blending it"), but more, I see no point and I fear for their safety with how much of an epic klutz I am.

    19. I'd never take my doll out to the mall. Large open space, yes. Mall, definitely not. The local mall is usually crowded on the days I'm able to go and a lot of teenagers go there. They're not the nice ones either b/c they think they're 'gangsta'. I'm very aware that this hobby is considered 'weird' but I can definitely do without their not so hushed comments.

    20. I have the same sentiment as others: I go to the mall to shop, not carry around awkwardly heavy dolls around. The only store I could imagine specifically taking my doll with me to would be an antique store or similar to look for in-scale props or something. And even then I'd still feel like a complete weirdo.
