1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Dolls and names

May 23, 2008

    1. Yes, I've kept my Volks Charlotte's name as Charlotte :)

    2. I like naming my dolls different things from the sculpt name (although some of the original names for the sculpts are cute) just because I like naming things in general. My name inspiration come from all over the place but they usually suit the thing I'm naming.

    3. I prefer to think about names before I get the doll. I often pick names based on the doll's personality. But sometimes I think that the original name suits better.

    4. I have two dollzone christmas baby's. 2 girls. They do not have a name. My Volks Midori is named Midori. I'm hoping for unoa chibi roron but do not have a name yet. It wouldn't be Roron.

    5. It took me months to name my doll. I didn't really want to keep her sculpt name, but I didn't know what I wanted to name her, and then I was looking up names for characters in a story I was writing, and I came across one that was perfect for her. Now I can't imagine her being named her sculpt name!
I did consider some other names before I chose, but in the end I picked a name that I thought suited her appearance and personality, and I liked the meaning.:)

    6. A pretty fun idea could be to look up baby names:blush:blushand choose one that you like!.

    7. I also have a problem with names, but mostly I use the original, just slightly edit it :-). The Michell is Schelly, Ignis is Iggy, of Harwick is Harwi, from Charles- Chryss is only of Thunder is Jacob, because I saw him as Jacob from Twilight ...:-D

    8. I love names, so I usually name my dolls. But there were a few sculpt names that I really liked!!! Sometimes I'll use the sculpt name more than the name I give them.

    9. Names can be a tough one for me. Sometimes I come up with a name before I get the doll and change it when the doll lands home. Depends on what the doll looks like and if I think the name fits or not...

    10. Normally, I will choose name for my dolls after I made a decision to order/adopt but...I often change their name again when they arrive home.

    11. i know some people never rename their dolls. But I think a personal name for a sculpt makes them a bit more personal. If you got Soom Migma and she still is called Migma maybe she is not as special als she was renamed to be more personal to the owner. I really like the name Tedros of my sculpt I have bot somehow it turned out to have and individual name cause my guy is an individual guy so he earned to have a personal name for himself

    12. I've kept the company's name for my doll, simply because it stuck with me XD Before I bought him, I kept calling him his name in my head, and now I've just gotten used to it, and can't imagine calling him anything else!

    13. I've only been collecting since Jan. this year so I've not given my dolls different names, but I'm starting to think about coming up with some really unique names for them now that I'm discovering the personalities ;-}

    14. I'm waiting on two to come back with faceups before I decide on names. I can't see keeping the sculpt name, 'Kelly' for a male. ;)

    15. I do name mine, but sometimes they come home and... the name doesn't fit. Only had one that took about 3 days to settle on a name and she was an anthro, a pipos rainbow cheese mouse. I've also had a problem where, for Halloween I dressed my 1/3 boy up like a pirate... well he's got long blond hair and I gave him a beard... and then one of my friends pointed out he looked like Guy Brush... I looked up the character and OMG... I accidentally turned him into Guy Brush... Now mentally I call him Guy Brush or just Guy and his real name is Helios and has been since day one. Ugg!!! First world doll problem? T_T

    16. It depends on the situation. sometimes, at first, choose the name, then the doll. But sometimes Vice versa! I often change the name again when they come.

    17. the only doll that doesn't have a given name from me is still on my wish list, a soom ID72 York. somehow i find the name appealing for the character and so far i have not been able to come up with a different one to give him. it does happen sometimes that the company names are a perfect match ^_^

    18. I have a Dollzone Ro on the way, and I'm shelling him as a character of mine, who coincidentally is named 'Rowan' :XD: My nickname is actually Ro as well hahaha! oh the irony~

    19. So far I do change the names. Mostly because I don't like the mold names. (Bonnie just didn't suit my doll's character)

    20. I don't name my dolls, and it's been turning out that I don't even call them by their mold name. Since I don't have that many and they're all from different companies, I tend to refer to my dolls by just the company name, and maybe an descriptive adjective or two. :|
