It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Dolls in Fantasy Colors?

Oct 26, 2010

    1. I never thought I'd want a fantasy-coloured doll, but now I have a Soom Sweet Witch in grey on order xD I love the tone, she looks so cute in it! Not to mention wanting all the Asella and Enaibi dolls in the wonderful colours those girls release...

I guess it doesn't matter to me if the doll looks human or more 'fantasy-like', as long as the sculpt looks cute in the colour, I'd buy it, if I liked it enough <3 !

    2. Sure, it might be neat to have an unusual skin color if it fit the character. Orange with black stripes for a tiger-gal, or blue for Avatar, that kind of thing.

    3. Do you prefer natural looking skin colors for your doll?
Yeah, for most of them. But I definitely want a fantasy colored doll at some point! They're adorable.
Would buying a colored doll depend on your doll's character?
Yep. All of my dolls are in whatever color suited them best based on what I had in mind for them. I have a tan skin Limwha Sujan that looks almost orange according to some of my friends, but much as she's not a "natural" shade of tan, she is absolutely perfect for the character she represents! I couldn't be happier.
If you wanted a colored doll, would you ever try to dye him/her yourself?
Oh gosh no! I'd be TERRIFIED of messing up!
Do you feel that only fantasy-character dolls can pull off this look?
Naww, I think any doll can as long as it fits their character.

    4. Do you prefer natural looking skin colors for your doll?
So far all of my dolls are "natural" colors, though it isn't that I don't want a fantasy-colored doll. I just haven't seen one I had to have yet.

Would buying a colored doll depend on your doll's character?
I don't put a huge amount of thought into characters. It would just have to be a color I wanted to dress, photograph and look at in general.

If you wanted a colored doll, would you ever try to dye him/her yourself?
I'd consider trying it if I had a doll that I was willing to let be wrecked if I screwed up. Right now, I like my dolls as they are, so it isn't happening.

Do you feel that only fantasy-character dolls can pull off this look?
Not really. I would potentially like a grey doll someday and I don't think that has to type-cast them into being a certain style of doll.

    5. Do you prefer natural looking skin colors for your doll?
I really like both (Greedy! I know!) I've got mostly "natural" coloured dolls, but a few characters of mine will need the more unusual colours

Would buying a colored doll depend on your doll's character?
Yep! Have done, plan to get more - my Nyta is a member of a fairly typical sci-fi alien race and as such is bright blue.

If you wanted a colored doll, would you ever try to dye him/her yourself?
Maybe... I'd look around for a suitable doll that came in that colour 1st, but I've always planned on giving dyeing a go at some point...

Do you feel that only fantasy-character dolls can pull off this look?
No not really, well insofar as Nyta just happens to be a member of an alien race but doesn't behave all that differently to the standard humanoids...

    6. So far I really only like white skin and grey skin (because I really prefer anthros.) I can't get into the colorful ones >> they are just too unreal
