Dolls with the same hair color as you?

Jan 8, 2011

    1. I never really considered it, because my hair color is kind of boring.
It's a very dark brown. Under darker lights it seems pitch-black, and under others, nut-brown. So I don't think it would look good for a doll... More vivid or defined colors look much better, I think. So this is the main reason why I wouldn't have dolls with the same color as my own - I don't find it to be a nice color ^^"

    2. I have long black hair. Seraphine also has long black hair, Cesavier has very very long black hair with white streaks in it, Tristan has blonde hair (but he's a baby and most babies do), Neeko has chin length black hair, Fox will have chin length red hair (influenced by a favorite video game character of mine) and the other girl doll I'm planning will probably have long light coloured hair (just for some variety basically). I have a tendancy to think that everybody looks better with long black hair, but hey, I'm biased.

    3. My very first character/doll has the hair colour I wish I had (a wine/aubergine colour, which I regularly dye my hair :XD:). And my boyfriend teases me that one of my Rosettes looks like me and has my hair colour (it's actually a much darker brown than mine, but I can't convince him of that). And my mother thinks one of my teenie dolls looks exactly like me, and the long brown hair is definitely a part of that...

But over my collection, I don't stick to my own hair colour. I have many dolls with black, blonde, red or light brown hair. Not to mention fantasy colours like black-blue or black-purple. I also have all sorts of styles - my hair is long and wavy, but I have dolls with short and mid-length hair, and dolls with pin-straight hair and curls. I wouldn't enjoy my collection nearly as much if they all looked alike :)

    4. I would like that!
iv saw girls wearing same dress with their dolls, they call this mother- child style. i think its funny, and i would like to have a try with proper situation. however, its not such easy to get exactly the totally same dress and hair style with doll, except hand-made.
and something makes it easier to! all my dolls are boys, so we already share the same hair color now!
      so happy with that~:)

    5. I actually try to avoid styling my dolls in ways that resemble my own colorage. I'm pale skinned with long dark hair and light eyes, and none of my dolls will have a dark hair/light eye combo because of that. I'm not sure why, really. My dolls all have light hair, either white, blond or a honey brown color.

    6. I do not have a doll that has the same hair color as me, which is naturally dark brown. The two smallest do have brown hair actually, but a much lighter color. As for the rest black and more unnatural colors. Hairdye, that we have in common

    7. I once drew a picture where the girl had similar curls as me. Not the same color or anything. Only a similar curl. And everyone assumes I drew myself :/ So...that coudl get awkward if you have a unique color. But I have standard dark brown hair and over 50 characters. Chances are, SOME of them are BOUND to be brunet

    8. In general, no, my dolls tend to have different hair colors to me. I have black hair, but he darkest shade any of my dolls have is "carrot" red. I am considering getting my next doll with dark hair, though.

    9. I have long brown hair, but only one similar wig--and it's not even close to my hair color. All of my dolls have wild/unnatural hair colors, except for two, who're black-haired and blonde respectively. As far as characters in general go, I think I have one out of dozens with my hair color, and I've no plans to make her into a doll (...yet). But I kind of find my hair uninteresting, even though I love it on me. I guess I just have a more fantasy-oriented aesthetic when it comes to my dolls.

    10. hmm I have various wigs, and two happen to be in my hair colour (dark brown). I rarely use those however, as I'm just not quite convinced of how they look on my doll. I like changing my hairstyle frequently enough; this is probably mirrored in the way I change Anya's do-up *all the time* hahaha.
Anya is a redhead most of the time - I really like the way that hair colour is so flexible. True, it's advisable not to wear orange, but if I had the chance, I'd probably want to be a natural redhead in a next life XD long story short: I like experimenting with things I can't really change in my own appearance on my doll.

    11. How funny! None of my dolls are brunettes, though I am! XD I don't think I did that on purpose...

    12. Only one of my girls has the same hair color as me, and her character is pretty close to my own personality....now I'm beginning to wonder if I've done this subconsciously:?

    13. I sort of like my hair color blend currently so I did buy a wig with bangs that looks like my hair for a doll, but not as many curls so it's probably more like my dream hair.:)

    14. I don't really think I do. My hair is dark chestnut brown with a reddish tint in certain lighting. Ryan and Titus come closest to my color. My crew, broken up by hair color, looks like this:

      Brown- 7
      Blond- 12
      Black- 12
      Red- 2
      Bald- 2

      So....no, I don't usually give them my color. :)

    15. Myself and my supia roda have matching red hair, but that's the only doll I've ever had with hair like me :)

Most of my dolls are brunettes.

    16. I have black hair, and I find darker hair good looking. About 7 of my main characters have black or really dark hair. It's just the way I like it, though I have a few characters with different hair colours like red and blonde and brown. I usually decide on the hair colour based on the personalities of my characters. I'm sure my fondness of dark hair is just a coincidence. -.-

    17. I am blonde, but I choose to be so obviously I like that colour ^_^. However, doll plans are leaning towards other colours so I guess not!

    18. I have reddish hair. I tend to purposely not make any of my characters have red hair (fictional or doll-wise) probably because I don't want people to accuse me of basing a character off of myself, which I never purposely do.

The reason I write fiction is to escape from my life. There is no way I would ever write about myself. (or base any character on myself or my own life) *shudders*

Why it's so important to me that people KNOW that all my characters are NOT me in anyway shape or form.... I have no idea why. LOL.

    19. Nope. I hadn't really thought about it. But maybe I will now that you mention it. ^^ [EDIT] Wow, maybe it is subconscious. I just changed my icon, and if I add a little more dark and grey in the back, that is my hair color, length and texture. I always do that with art. You know, some psychologists say something about people painting themselves...??? ~ Dolls faces might be included...

    20. I never realized until now, but both of my dolls have dark brown hair, like myself. I've always liked brown I guess haha!
