1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Dolls with the same name as you.

Feb 23, 2016

    1. I don't think there are any dolls with my name. Mine is Desirae, and I don't think it's all that popular, as I can't even find my name on a darn keychain/necklace/sign or whatever personalized thing you can think of, so I doubt that there's a doll that shares it. I don't think I'd ever name a doll or model one after myself. I'd feel a little awkward doing that. I much prefer my dolls to have their own names, styles, and personalities. Though, if by some chance I did find a doll with the same name as me and I really liked the sculpt, I would definitely buy it!

    2. I haven't named my doll after my name because that would be a bit weird I guess.
But I believe, there definitely has many dolls with this name because my name is very common.:blush

    3. When Mattel started marketing Kelly dolls, I was a young Kelly myself. It was exciting for a minute.. Until I saw one and she looked nothing like me or anyone I had ever known, and was even less poseable than Barbie.. :huh?:

So why did I never think there might be a Kelly BJD?! Magical Angel makes one, it turns out. A smiley sculpt, no less (yay!) but I don't like the default faceup at all. It looks like a scary evil grin. There's only one owner / owner pics I could find, which make him look very nice.

I wouldn't opt to name a doll "Kelly." My grandmother names things after me already (several plants in the backyard, random $1 store dolls.. a Furby...:|) The name is burned out in my mind, and I don't even like being called it myself. I never felt that such a "jingley" name suits me.

However. BJDs the *size* of the old Kelly dolls are just fantastic and always on my wishlist.

    4. DollShe has made a sculpt with the same name as me, and I think another company or two has as well but I haven't gone digging to find out for sure. As for naming one of my dolls after myself, I don't see myself doing it but never say never.

    5. I wouldn't name a doll after myself I'm not too interested in owning a girl doll at the moment and my name has always been kind of a pain for me definitely not something I'd want to name a doll and I already have a doll that I have a lot in common with his name is Ray and I don't think it would make me any closer to him if he had my name (it has a male version) so all in all I'm kind of glad I don't have a don't have a doll named after myself

    6. i never considered that . but it would be entertaining!
I think it would be interesting.. i dont think that one of my dolls could be a smaller version of myself or think that i could be like him but i can shape some of my personal tastes on him and putting my name could make me feel more connected. i think..

    7. I'm actually named after a doll, one of the American girl dolls. I don't think I could ever give a doll my name. The doll I have now name came from a list of baby names meant for me before the name I have now was chosen so that is the closest I gotten to that. I would be surprised if my name was used for a sculpt. I have thought of using nicknames though
