Dolls You Rarely See/Think Deserve More Love

I actually love Blue Fairy dolls! I don't think I've ever seen any on DoA and only recently found some on a group but only when I asked specifically if anyone had any. They're super cute sculpts but a little on the pricey side for their sizes, in my opinion.

 

Did someone say DollZone Raymond? As soon as I saw his sculpt I fell in love with him, and bought him with some of the money I got from my 21st birthday last year. I've had him since January this year and he constantly seems to surprise me with something new. I'll be getting him a second head at some point so I can play with it a little more, because as much as I adore his default face up, I really want to try something else. Anyway, meet my Raymond - Azrael.

She was my first doll, and I still have her and love her! Ugh! There is, at least, a database for her. But there are only like 8 dolls in there.
It makes me sad because she's so pretty. And she's looks really realistic. Though I wish she had a better body.
I have her in SD size. Which has since been discontinued from DollnDoll. But now they have an MSD version.
Which I would consider downsizing if I didn't hate their MSD bodies. =/
But anywho. Even with them bringing her back as an MSD I still don't see much of her. Good thing I have her and can look at her whenever I want. C:

 

I haven't seen any owner pics of Island Doll Loki. And he's so fantastic. I also haven't seen many Mirodoll bunnies, or Angel Street boys. I looked all over for owner pics, and only saw a handful.

 

There's something sweet about my LeekeWorld Mabel that I love but I don't see her posted much. I've seriously thought about selling her but can't quite do it. I thought her face up looked washed out so I wiped it off but the new one I gave her changed her from a young shy teen to an older, outgoing popular girl. I'm still working on a look that's just right for her and am in the process of getting an air compressor for my Iwata. I think an airbrush will help me get the softer expression that I'm after.

Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places, I'm pretty new and still figuring out how to work the website but I can't seem to find anything by Linda Macario. I fell in love with her Iris sculpt a while ago and although there seem to be a few owner pictures on google and tumblr I can't find anything on here about her! I also can't find much of anything on Doll Leaves Ethan, he's beautiful and I would love to see him in something other than manufacturer pictures. I feel like a lot of cool things could be done with him!
Also, at the moment there doesn't seem to be much about Dollmore Alex but people seem to be talking about him quite a bit so hopefully there will be more pictures coming up!!

 

My doll (That I ordered in 28th August and haven't gotten her yet) is a 5stardoll Becca. I love how gorgeous and mature she looks here. But oddly, not many people have her, and I wanted to look for pictures to see how people handle the face-up but there hasn't been a lot of examples. For shame!

Anything, and I mean anything from Doll Leaves is underposted. Which is a shame, as they are wonderfully well-made and underrated sculpts just loaded with potential.

It's amazing how even well-established companies can have obscureness amongst their regular releases. For example, DIM's Kassia is the epitome of their vampire elf sculpts. But did you know that they have an entire family of them? There are Bellosse, Galahad, Lenora, Marcellina, Benita, and now Primrose, and each and every one of them is gorgeous without exception. I might even be leaving one or two out, as well as the many 'Half-closed eyes' variations! And they have several non-fanged elves in different sizes as well. I currently have a Marcellina amongst my floaters, and I just cannot wait to get her a body so I can infrequently spam her, for she is a sculpt you literally do not see. Anywhere. And I can understand this- her expression is a tad extreme for some tastes, and had it gone much further, say to the level of Ringdoll Mona, I might not have cared for her. But I own one of the three or four that have been posted places. Mine isn't even new to the menagerie! It seems her only role in internet society is to be photographed for a sales listing.

erisraven, thank you ever so much! I love seeing dolls with facial hair, but alas, it does not always look good drawn on, and I am suprised at how difficult people seem to think it is. I initially drew in the spot where it should be when I did his faceup, then just took cheap faux fur, cut it reasonably long, and glued it to his chin with Tacky glue after his face had been sealed and glossed. Then I trimmed it to the length that it is now, and just generally barbered it to my satisfaction. If the glue seemed to be showing through a bit, I either added more fur or daubed over the white spot with a bit of faceup paint, such as Tamiya or Liquitex; something I knew was safe around my doll. Do note that paint was only added over the fur though, not the resin itself. If resin is showing somewhere it shouldn't be, always add more fur and glue, not paint!!

 

WOW She is gorgeous!!! I just saw her on the 5star website and the price is very reasonable!!! I think a lot of the Chinese companies don't get enough love and they make such beautiful dolls and no seams!!! I love the silky smooth resin with no seams and that doesn't cost you one penny extra like with Korean companies.

Speaking of Korean companies, I hardly ever see Dolkot's 70cm model line. I have never seen photos of Belinda anywhere on the web besides the Dolkot company photos and I just ordered her about 3 weeks ago. So when I get mine I will post the first owner photos of her.I have seen one owner photo of Lynne on Flickr and one of Loussier. I have seen a couple of Adam and none of Kain. I am not sure why these tall Dolkot dolls aren't more popular. I love the Belinda sculpt. She is gorgeous and the others girls are also very pretty as well and the boys are very handsome!!

I had never heard of Dolkot, so I went to check them out and I love them! They look similar to the 5stardoll and almost a little Impldoll in there too. I think I will definitely keep those in mind!

The database has less than one page of entries, and most of them are between 2006-2010. There haven't been any new additions since 2013.

There used to be an abundance of these girls, so much so that they were often the target of experiments in boy-making, during a time when boy dolls were VERY scarce, and many tried to solve the problem with modifications. As a result, it seems very few exist in original condition anymore, and I very rarely see them in the gallery or marketplace in any form.

..I personally own three of them, and am totally wracked with guilt for not sharing them with the forum more often.
