I love his eyebrows! And, I think owner pics are going to look stunning!

 

With that face up he could play one of the vampires in "Twilight" I was really thinking of getting him, but now ... not anymore.

 

Definitely not the face-up for me.

What I can see of the sculpt itself he still looks like he'd work for me. A shame the styling kind of killed the momentum though. from what I'm reading anyway.

Anyone else notice how he seemed smirky and bit smarmy before he was painted and now he seems a bit sad?

 

I am confused, guys .... no mention of optional face up, no mention of extra parts included (Ausley came with a lot of extras). I like his eye and brow paint but really dislike the red lips and freckles - nuh uhhh. Would like to see a promo pic of him in one of the tan resins, too. Thought I saw a purchase date but don't see it now. Think I will hold off for a bit because I'd like to know more, i.e., will we have face up option, will that wonderful suit be available for him, will we get extra parts like a head, maybe different hands? I really really like this sculpt but liked it better sans face up. I guess the waiting game begins, but there is no guarantee he will become a basic. And yes, I agree with Haneino in that he looks tremendously sad in these pics, where in the first pictures he did look smirky, self-confident and, IMO, sexy! Could the facial sculpt have been tweaked a bit? Looks slimmer to me.

 

It looks like there are two faceplates - open and SA (or IM or whatever), and a different left hand is shown in one of the photos. No faceup option? Interesting. I'll have to do more reading when I get home from work. I'd like to find the previous black/white photos for reference.

 

His faceup looks so unflattering and those red lips reminds me of a drag queen.. I'd like to see blank photos, this doesn't look so good as I expected.. The first photos were gorgeous and he looked so mighty.. hmm..

 

Its not to my taste, but when I saw the blank photos of him I did think he was an amazing doll. I just looked at the painted photos..........really?! I actually laughed, it just so doesn't suit the doll and those red lips are awful. I cant believe they took away all the good pictures showing off his amazing detail and replaced them with clothed shots and face close ups. I still think with the right face up he would be a stunner, but I think this will have put a lot of people off.

 

Well said. Thanks God we're not sentenced to the Dollshe default faceup ;---) If I didn't see the blank sculpt before, I might just pass him by right now, although the B&W photos are not so bad... Oh, dear, where to find a resin girl/woman matching such a reality now...?

 

Not a fan of the face up either but I am still getting him and I cannot wait to get my own hands on him! I LOve that profile shot! now I have to wait for pay day and/or sell some dolls...lol

 

I do not really like that face-up. However, he looks very interesting. Just not really beautiful, more like a real-life man (does anybody understand what I want to express?). Very fascinating. Now I really want to wait for the first face-ups by doll owners (I hope so much there will be some) to see which interpretations this sculpt can give. This is the first time I am excited for a sculpt!

 

I like the realistic skin and the eyes/eyebrows of the faceup, but not the lip color. I can hardly wait to have him too, but I don't quite believe he will ship in October.

 

I'm quite disappointed now... first the faceup and also because I was hoping Dollshe would start his release with some discount like they did the last times when they started new sculpts (Pure body and also Ausley). Sure I think he's worth the $750, but at the moment the price and those faceup pictures makes it hard for me to hit the order button that quick like I had planned before.

 

Did anyone happen to grab the nude photos of David before they disappeared? I would love them for my folder as I too did a big Ka-chink last night. Just pm me if you happen to have them. (Dollshe my post them again as I believe they are still tweaking their site.) I did not find the face-up flattering either as I see him as a dark greek god kinda of fella - but a face-up is just that..only a face-up and does not change the beauty of their sculpt.

 

I think the new photos prove my point...that he looks best sans clothes. Or at least less....you just cannot appreciate the sculpt of that body with all that fabric (sounds pervie huh?). And I am disappointed that there is not a "reduced" into price. Oh well......

 

I for one love his full lips and nose though the coloring Dollshe chose on a faceup is not appealing at all. One can always send him out and have him redone. Dollshe was never really known for its fabulous faceups anyway, though this year they did get a bit creative in the last of the older boys sculpts that they had out again. So I think for all those that are getting him should just think about redoing his faceup that is if the one shown is the face he is coming with he might just be coming blank, Have to see how Dollshe responds to all the questions going up on QnA now as they are very vague on what you actually get with him or don't get.

 

I am very much looking forward to seeing him in your hands and what you do with him!

I think the eyebrows aren't too bad in terms of realism. Definitely some strange colours going on with him. And the photos don't help either. Lots of over sharpening. The white balance is off and so is the colour. Very interested how this guy already has a face up, clothing, wig, etc ... in the sale photos when Ausley Love is still blank. I guess Mr. Kim likes the boys better?

I think the nude photos are floating around here somewhere. Maybe a few pages back? I'm glad we got to see the blank ones first before these.

The SA IM head is really interesting. I like the expression of it. Almost reminds me of someone singing in between verses or trying to visualize a concept. Even with closed eyes, he's very expressive.

Few requests to DollShe cocerning Mr. David:

1. Please return black and white photos of the blank nude doll.
2. Fire the person who created this awful face-up, body blushing and costume.

At the beginning the David's promotion was brilliant. Don't know why you decided to end this like that?

IMO the doll itself is perfect! Waiting to see the characters created by BJD community artists.
