1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Dollshe 28M discussion

Jul 25, 2013

    1. I think it's wonderful that Mr. Kim is following his muse without hesitation. I can imagine how easy it would be to become burned out as an artist in this hobby, given the self-entitled responses that show up on the message boards of most companies. But clearly Mr. Kim has not burned out. Kudos to him for that. He is continuing to grow, perhaps not in a way that will please all, but definitely with integrity.

I've always wanted a Hound, but the body is just too slim to fit in with my oversized boys. So I am glad I will finally be adding a Dollshe boy to my collection.

    2. I think he came out just perfect, I compared him to pictures of the actual Michelangelo masterpiece. I guess he will weigh more than 3.00 kgs? On the other hand, since I am doing archery and swimming, my back really became better...but he would tear apart my whole perfect dolly world...decisions, decisions!

    3. Really am bursting at the seams to see more photo's of this wonderful sculpt - something I have always admired and respected (albeit from the sidelines) with Dollshe is
the actual craft and engineering with beauty :)
Have the Dollshe wait times improved much in recent times?

    4. Before I was complaining about his head size, but the more I see him the more I appreciate how realistically proportionate it really is. I guess I'm just used to seeing the big heads of Iples and Sooms. :sweat
Arrghh...the wait is killing me. I go on every day to see whether he's on sale yet....oh, and to ogle him a bit/to death.

    5. <grins> Anybody else anticipating the huge "whooshing" noise that will take place the moment this guy is put on sale?

    6. I can't wait....LOL. I keep checking the Q&A board....and if more pictures....and for sale.

      :)

    7. Thank you!!!

Sadly, he's not going to happen for me in the immediate future (in fact, I'm doing Dolly Triage to see who I can bear to part with) because my daughter just got some very bad, expensive medical news . . . :/

. . . but I am looking forward to drooling over all the incoming gorgeous hunks, and perhaps someday, the stars will be right for me to bring him home!

    8. I updated the first post with links to yuan_mdx's measurement chart, and Earthspirits/Robyn's head:body ratio image. :) Please let me know if you would rather not have them there. ^_^

Personally, I can understand the multitude of possible reasons why Mr. Kim made this guy, and I appreciate all of them. The size of his head does not bother me in photos at all. I'm mostly impressed with his toenails, and veining. I cannot wait to paint one. If my cards land right, I will order him in pale tan and dust him with shimmery gold powders.

Ashbet, here is an additional color match photo. My Pale Tan Bernard (bottom), your Lt Brown Iplehouse EID (middle), and another friend's Bronze Soom Chalco (top). It is a nighttime flash photo, and isn't the best, but it gives a strong impression of the differences in the resins.

    9. he's now on my list, love the sculpt, very details, very realistic

    10. That's great to have all the info in one post. And thanks for the additional resin comparison picture.
According to the Q&Aboard, Mr. Kim will be back from vacation on Wednesday.

    11. FunnyLori, thanks also for the front page update. Could you also alter the title as it has a typo that might hamper searches. Cheers.

    12. FWIW, that wasn't a typo to begin with--the Dollshe site spelled it "Daivd" (this kind of thing catches my eye . . . occupational hazard, heh). But now that Dollshe have corrected the spelling error for themselves on at least some pages of the site, I guess there's no need for us to keep copying it. ;) Just for the record, though, the individual item page and the "catalog" page with the link to David's sales listing still show the misspelling.

    13. I really want this guy but unless he is a really great sale intro price I am doomed to lust from the sidelines. Great sadness :(

    14. Has anyone posted the origin of his last name - "Kuncci"? All Google turned up under various spellings was a guitar, a Taiwanese soccer player and a Japanese term for "festival". :)

    15. Dollshe answered my question on the older Dollshe boys.......looks like Hound, Husky, Van, Bernard are gone forever......but they did tell me that they will release new Dollshe boys with the older style bodies next year.

    16. And we have heard that one before as well. Best to wait and see how things pan out. He does seem to eventually bend to public demand, thankfully.

    17. I think I'm already hearing anxious scratching at Dollshe's door...

    18. I see in the makeup section there is OE head and SE head! cool~ I guess he's going to be like Ausely and come with both heads?

    19. I LOVE this guy!
In the near future I have to make up an excuse for buying him, cause not buying something so beautiful.. well, I simply can't pass it up!
