1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Dollshe Ladies

Apr 22, 2014

    1. I must have done something wrong. When I added the head it added $160 to the order to drive it up to $740. That was in pale so no fancy resin either.....and I was logged in.....

    2. The heads are an extra cost, yes. I've ordered my first one of the Ausley Love dolls tonight -- a honey raspberry fresh body with a Bernard head (thanks, Jo ... after seeing yours, I'm obsessing!). The site did permit me to use my last delay-related coupon, which can only be used on one full doll. I'll be ordering a minimum of one, perhaps two more bodies before the end of the sale period. I don't know if, or when, he'll ever offer them again, and so I intend to take advantage of this. Perhaps I'll rehouse Amanda on this nicer body.

    3. @Julie M - I was referencing where you said:

"The full doll package with everything, including a head, in a basic color is $682.00."

In which case I would get a head. (Get it?) But at $740? Nope....but like you I'm thinking about getting more than one and rehousing others onto that body. I have an Iplehouse nYID that would fit on that body.....and of course either he'll never offer them again or offer them two months from now at 30% off.....

    4. I was having some trouble with the site -- every time I worked on figuring out a price. That, and I think that I mixed up the regular price with my already discounted price (because I'm Gold level) -- so I apologize!

He hasn't offered these bodies for quite a while now. I don't want to risk him deciding to never offer them again, because I like them exponentially more than the more recent Amanda Beauty body. :(

    5. No worries!

I must be psychic, did I just say 30% off and the VERY NEXT DAY(!) he offers a 30% off coupon? Oh Dollshe, I love your constant unpredictable predictability! Now I just have to wait 9 more days and then that Diana I ordered nearly 11 months ago will net me 30% off!

I haet the Amanda Beauty body. If I wanted an Iplehouse body I would buy one. I did have an IpleDoll at one point but I sold mine and put my IpleVampire head on a Dollzone body (discontinued years ago) that is a pretty close match to Ausley V1. In fact, I had been planning on using that as the backup body for my beloved Alex(Ausley). But now I'm going to get a real backup body. Awesome. So now I just wait a few days...la la la.....

    6. I love the Diana sculpt. I ordered Arsene through a dealer and prefer this option as I am based in the UK so don't have to worry about the customs fees on top. I am hoping that the UK dealer's here may pass on the current discount offer. My only concern is the wait time for Diana.....

    7. I've begun to think of Dollshe as an experience in Zen. One in which I give up my tedious relationship to time and invest in future gratification. This means that I have to let go and allow myself to live more fully in the present with the dolls I have and think of my incoming Dollshe doll as a surprise in the future. So many of our expectations are based on very specific time intervals, we get presents at various holidays, birthdays etc. Dollshe continually shatters such notions with a variety of promises that he always breaks, by new confusing projects on the horizon that interrupt current work. It's become apparent that to get frustrated in such scenarios is basically a symptom of how mired we are in the expectations of capitalism and it's concomitant promise of therapeutic mental heath through material objects. So I embrace Dollsheness and say, que sera, sera.

To quote Ruby and The Romantics:

      Our doll will come
If we just wait a while
      No tears for us
Think Dollshe and wear a smile

    8. Yep, just ordered the old Ausley 26F body in pure pale. I'll see you guys next December when it ships.

    9. @dollhausen Lovely words so very well said. Now if I could just forget that Dollshe promised Diana delivery in November.

    10. A bit late to the discussion, but I only just logged into the Dollshe website and saw the Christmas discount so I need to vent. Is anyone else a little bit pissed off with Dollshe? I ordered an Amanda 26F Full Package in September, even though I don't need 2 heads or any of the bells and whistles like extra busts, but the reason I ordered her was because Dollshe very categorically said that she'd be discontinued. This is why I bought her, so I wouldn't miss out. Shortly after I ordered, Dollshe very categorically said that 7 Nov was the absolute final cut-off date for ordering, and I was relieved I made it in time.

Now basic Amanda is available again...and not only available, but at a huge discount! If Dollshe had introduced this "re-release"/discount a year later, I wouldn't mind, as that would be reasonable. But to say that he's discontinuing a line, only to "re-release" it before the discontinuation date at a much lower price, actually makes me kind of angry.

I mean, this discount and re-release is great for many of you who've been waiting ages to order a particular doll or who missed out. So maybe I'm the only one feeling this way. But seriously, over the years, you would have thought Mr Dollshe would learn...he seriously needs to hire a business manager, or at least delegate that role to another family member, as he's really bad at doing the right thing by his customers and his business!

Or maybe I should learn not to trust a single thing Mr Dollshe says.

    11. Chizzie Shark, welcome to the DollSheverse. It does absolutely no good to be angry. The DollSheverse is what it is. It continues on its own special space time continuum.

I, for one, am exceedingly glad that this is the way that Mr. Kim operates, even if it can be hugely frustrating. Why? Because his dolls are amongst the most nicely made ball jointed dolls that it has been my pleasure to own since I started in the hobby in 2003 -- and well over 130 dolls live with me. (Hubby has said that we could get a house with double the square footage and we'd probably fill it.)

If you will get mad at Mr. Kim each time he does this, DollShe probably isn't for you. There was a near (virtual) riot when he remade Bermann. That having been said, once you receive your doll, you'll (most likely) see that she was worth the wait ... if you do not let your own feelings sour you to having her.

I am thrilled that Mr. Kim listened to over a year solid of campaigning for him to re-release the Ausley Love body, for whatever short period of time, because it is the most beautiful BJD female body I've ever seen. The photographs do NOT do it credit.

    12. @chizzie_shark I sympathize with you and I too find dollshe's customer service to have some problems. Dollshe dolls are my favorite but no other company that I have purchased from has the long delays and difficulty with production. I would love to see Dollshe correct the shipping schedules. Do not sell a doll unless you can deliver it in 6 months - that should be his rule. I think Mr. Kim advertises dolls before he has worked out the total design. I love the fact that when the doll arrives it does look and pose wonderfully well but waiting a year for a doll - He definately has loss some customers. I know bjd collectors that refuse to order his beautiful dolls for that very reason. But it is Mr. Kim's business and that is the way he wishes to run it. I am sure he has had complaints over the years, and yet changes nothing, so if you order expect a very long wait and if he says it will not be made again - do not believe him.

    13. This is something that Dollshe has done again and again...

Question: Is there anyone that has both f26 girl bodies? I like the old one visually, but which one is the better poser?

    14. Thanks guys. I have ordered from Dollshe before, a Grant Philippe 28M, and he was definitely worth the wait as he had one of the most spectacularly sculpted and engineered doll bodies I've ever seen. There's no doubting Mr Dollshe's talent, but he seriously needs to hire a business or office manager to run his business because he can't keep treating his customers like this! I'm not annoyed by the long wait (what seasoned BJD owner is not used to waiting LOL...even if Dollshe's timescales fly off the chart), but I am annoyed by him consistently changing his mind and going back on promises.

Maybe it's just because I've been out of the loop and haven't ordered a BJD in a while...the process (especially with Dollshe) takes some readjusting to!

Anyway I'll stop complaining - don't want to ruin the appreciation we all have for Dollshe's dolls. That's why we're here, after all. :)

    15. @Cyador Yes, I have both of the 26F bodies and I think the smaller Ausley body poses better as she can sit and cross her legs nicely. But they both are very good posers - hold a stand really well. I am sure I have shown this photo before but this is the smaller body:

    16. I like the older body better, too. But I wish her upper legs had mobility joints! One of my favorite poses is the "knees to chest" pose that mobility joints really help with. Also, I wouldn't mind an even smaller bust option. But she has beautiful hands and feet, and is much more delicate than the rather fierce new body. I like the new expressive hands, but they just look too big!

    17. I think it's best to trust everything Dollshe says and to not trust a single thing Dollshe says. Only by embracing a tree flapping whichever way the wind blows will you truly understand the mercurial and maddening force that is Dollshe. One must welcome the hurricane and the gentle breeze equally and at the same time. And always be twirling, twirling, twirling towards freedom.

    18. @dollhausen Unexpected Simpsons references are always welcome. Thanks for making me laugh (to dull the pain of unending wait times)!

    19. If anyone on this thread gets notice that their Diana has shipped - Please post your notice. I emailed them a few days ago but have not heard yet. For me a year arrives in March 2018 so I am thinking I will have a few more months to wait even if they told me November. We know how that goes....:huh?:
