1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Dollshe Orijean & DSAM 35s body release

Jan 17, 2009

    1. I have to imagine you can sand the seams outside the body; that this statement was made more as a warning to those who intend to steal Dollshe's works [allegedly] AGAIN.

He's saying if any modifications are made, the doll isn't going to hold up and do what it's supposed to. But I think that goes to mean resculpting over a recast of modded Dollshe parts like Dollmore [allegedly] did.

Hominivorax I think he does explain in his description of the MSJD body that the way the new Dollshe is jointed, it fixes the flopping/popping belly problem, as they now also have dedicated tensions for individual joint areas.

Charsier: Tensiya ended their partnership with Dollshe, but they still carry their Hound-sized clothes. Their 1:1 care board should still be active. I'd write them just to make sure, but they were still taking orders off the items on their site, the last I checked.

    2. Gods!! Is that a caterpillar? :? I'd rather stick to admiring the older versions than these. Ripley definatly missed this one in space.

    3. When I first saw ball jointed doll bodies I did not like them, I have now gotten used to them and find them attractive up to a point. I think I feel the same way about Orijean's body, dislike at first and slowly acceptance of this new creature. I think it's a thing of beauty albeit not one we are accustomed to.
The artist has made a stylistic choice here, we may or may not like it but there it is, gone are the delicately sculpted hands and soft body curves. I am very curious to see Hound, Saint and Bernard with their delicate features on this hyper stylised body.
It's not going to be everyone's cup of tea, if Dollstown's Dollshe order page is any indication there isn't a run on this doll. If it wasn't for the weakness of the canadian dollar right now I would probably order him, I find him quite fascinating and I think he is going to be a fabulous poser.

    4. When I first saw this doll, I thought he was kind of alien-looking, but he's growing on me as well. I don't know if I want to pre order one now or wait to see more. How many of you are pre-ordering him? Also, he looks a bit pinchy, I wonder what clothes would be like on him?

You know, I'm not always on top of things, and I didn't know who was still selling the older Dollshe dolls like Saint. Is there anyplace I might still be able to get him? Between certain other things going on in my life , I can't always keep up.

      Thanks,
      Allister7

    5. The only place to get the older versions is on the secondary market as they are no longer being made.

    6. That butt design is awesome! I sure do wish my Hound had that kind of rear end.:wiggle

    7. Pictures of Orijean's SA head are up here.

    8. I like the SA head much better, I think it will look very snakelike on that body.

    9. I like the SA head much better as well.

    10. Would the body be a good fit for a Migidoll head?

    11. ok i change my mind...i admit i was wrong.
Orijean SA head is fantastic. beautiful even, i'd go so far as to say that.
The body still makes me want to heave but i DO like that SA head.

    12. I'm still rather fond of the original Orijean head, but the SA head is gorgeous as well. :)

    13. Mmm...allll that poseability *without* having to worry about flop...sounds good to me.^^ Wish I could afford one of these guys right now.:sigh

    14. I think the SA head looks more human...even though it doesn't. Its strange, but I like it much better as well. I'd love his head on a more realistic body though.

    15. I like the body but I'm not interested in the current head. I'd rather save up and get a Hound style head or possibly a Bernard.

    16. Wow the delicacy of the nose and ear sculpt is fantastic! And it's great to get a closeup of the milled metal collar in the neck hole.
The SA head looks much less aggressive with downcast eyes.

    17. The milled metal collar in the neck seems to be like the "one touch system" that CP uses only in a different shape, with the added coast of milling the part I wonder what was his motivation towards metal instead of casting it in resin? I don't recall any complaints of breakage with the resin one touch parts...at least I haven't had any problems with them.
the only reason I can muster is maybe to try and prevent the heads from being used with other bodies, but then why sell them separately?

      Anyway...

I don't like the body, it doesn't work very well as a representation of man and as an art piece it screams "Bitter" and "Angry", it seems very resentful. Not surprising considering how much Mr. Dollshe talks about preventing piracy, but I've never seen any of the other companies/ artists who have experienced the same things retaliate this way.
I've always liked the Dollshe head sculpts and the old body wasn't completely to my taste but I still wanted to buy it because it had a fluid peacefulness to it that was attractive.
I hope Mr. Dollshe can heal his wounds and get back to making beautiful, fluid and tranquil looking works of art while still incorporating his new ideas.

    18. I've started to warm up to the body now. After reading Mr. Kim's explanation about this new body, I now seriously admire him :). I have to admit that the body reminds me of what the human body looks like skinned (body world exhibits). How it looks posing scares me a bit, but at the same time i can see oodles of possibilities! I can't wait till i see owner pics of this new guy and especially on how the other heads will look on it. Looks like i can still get a Saint! I'm quite intrigued and happy ^^.

Preventing long-term erosion for people who changes heads a lot?
      (It sounds wierd.... sorry)

Like many, I think I'm warming up to the body more...
The more I look at it, the less shocked I get from the joints and the abs
I think a lot of my initial dislike of the abs might just be from the fact that his body is so radically different from the expected norm of BJD bodies
I also felt a bit @#$%^ when I saw the Iplehouse EID boy body , from not being used to seeing such a muscular body.
      It's wierd to see a doll that looks like a smaller version of my boyfriend naked ^^;;;;;
I may be saving up for a girl as well...
(If soom doesn't bring any MDs to steal her funding that is)

    20. Honestly, I think that metal part in the neck is there to ward off would-be head (or body) swappers. I mean it's a part that gets far less wear than the joints, and I have never seen a doll's joint worn off. However, if it's resin it could be modded to fit on other bodies; if it's metal, then it can't be.

Guess that means I wont be buying a body, OR a head. :sigh
