1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Dollstown 17 and 18 year boys and girls - Part 2

Apr 4, 2018

    1. Can DollsTown send dolls unassembled? I bought a body a few years ago for them and I remember it was well pack but they didn’t used any fancy box with the logo on it. I was just wandering if it will be possible for them to ship dolls unassembled :)

    2. I’m sure if you ask on their q&a board, or send them an email, they’d be able to at least clarify if they could do it! I can’t think of a reason they would have to not ship unassembled on request, unless they just don’t have boxes that would be appropriately sized?

    3. Thank you. Do you know how long is the waiting time now days?

    5. YAY! Thank you for the info :)

    6. Can someone confirm which face sculpt is featured prominently in the 17 female body's official gallery from the company? Also here. I think it's Daisy but it could be Soi, I'm not sure. That second preview with the set of poses is so expressive with just a torso. I love this company's sculpts.

    7. The first one looks like Estella. Maybe the 2nd one too but it’s hard to tell. It’s hard to see the eye features in the 2nd one.

    8. I think the second one is Daisy... more remembering what the old website said it was rather than the sculpt appearance ;)

    9. Thanks @kyukyukyu @krystina I'm probably gonna end up asking them directly just to make sure. The gallery for the Daisy head looks a bit different, but it really looks like that sculpt in those pics... I dunno.
Do blank bodies come sanded or do they have seam lines?

    10. They have seam lines. Dollstown - and most Korean BJD makers for that matter - don't do seam sanding, either as part of the final product or as an add-on service for customers. This is different from Chinese BJD makers, who do sand their dolls as a default practice.

    11. That's... a pity because the sculpts are so nice otherwise. I would definitely choose the option to blush the body since it's available, and maybe that also comes with sanded seams? I hope so.
Everything considered, the sculpts are beautiful and the bodies have such natural, organic posing.

    12. I don't find seam lines to be a bother or a defect? I blush my dolls' hands and feet (though not body), and I barely notice their existence. By and large, seam lines are not that deep/sharp unless the mould is deteriorating. I wouldn't let them be a deterrent to buying from Dollstown, if you otherwise like the aesthetics! I love Dollstown aesthetics too, some of the best BJD sculpting I've seen around.

    13. What’s going on? Are Dollstown trading again? I don’t know what’s going on but lost a body at Dollshe craft from 2022 late - I’m ok about it as stuff happens but are you saying dollstown is trading again?

    14. I also have never found the seams on Dollstown to be either noticeable or
objectionable. They are dolls that I’ve never felt the need to do seam sanding on.
      Wonderful sculpts!!

    16. @aihre @Robyn_in_WA I lost track of this thread and forgot to thank you for the reassurance. I definitely love their dolls and I'm sure I will end up owning one soon.

    18. Hello all! Planning to get a DT17 girl body for a hybrid and I was wondering now since DT has it's own casting machines, how did the skintones change? Or did they? I was also told that fresh skintone is very light - almost white and if I want to match a normal skintone with the head I need to take oriental. Is this true?

    19. Fresh is a very light NS, as far as I know. Oriental is a better match for most companies NS resins. I own some old fresh resin from Dollshe, and it matches decently with a yellowed cream white, pale is basically white. I own a body in it, and it’s a couple shades off paper white
