I started collecting stuff for my 2.2. Don't know when she will be shipped cause i can't imagine the amount of work to surface all pieces from this new line. But finally got a nice idea.

I was sure I had shared photos of my girls. The links probably broke when I re-uploaded their portraits.

Kana is on her way! I'm dying to see her

 

Quick photo before leaving home, temporary everything, I need a real camera, but say hello to Esmet!
Kana is a gorgeous sculpt, she seems to take on a different expression depending on the angle. She looks perfect on the 18. Her head is pretty big and I thought she'd look too large on the 17, so I'm happy I got her on the 18. Pale Tan looks amazing. It's a rich, actually very dark tan, not too red, not too orange, a very natural skintone. I had a sample before ordering, but seeing the actual doll is a whole another thing. The body blushing is more subtle obviously but still gorgeous. DT tans can't be sanded, but seam lines are nonexistent. I had to look up close to spot them. What's evident is sanding marks on the gates, but it doesn't bother me too much? They're mostly under the joints.
Beautiful doll, I'll take decent pics at a later point but I wanted to share the arrival

Wow, she is so beautiful! I really like the look of that tan. A long time ago I had a Dollshe Pale Tan sample and it looked so yellow, but she appears to have nicely balanced warm-cool tones.

Also @citronrouge - I hope you'll receive your 2.2 soon! I'm so curious to find out how she poses in resin!

 

I am pretty sure the tan has changed at some point, because it doesn't look very much like the samples shown on the site. That one is more saturated, while this one (and the resin sample I got) is more of a neutral earth tone. I think those heads in the color lineup are straight from Dollshe's website, right?
Despite the terrible quality and grain from my phone's camera, the color is pretty close. Especially in the pictures taken in a cool light (you can tell from the background).
Also it's quite dark despite being called pale. This is her hand vs. Nadia's (fresh).


(Oh and I'm also very curious to see the 2.2 line! I had to make a huge effort to ban myself from getting one )

The older Pale Tan was very dark, too! I was quite surprised to see it in person. This one does look warmer (I prefer that, since if it does yellow, the redder tones will diminish first). Thank you for the comparison!

I want a 2.2 body for my Dollmore Mio! Buuut I don't make purchases without seeing owner photos unless I have REALLY good reasons not to (for example, it is a limited first preorder and I only have one chance plus I trust the artist).

 

She's a pure beauty !

I hesitated to get a 2.2 in ebony (since I only have white/natural skin at home) but i was afraid it would be complicated to apply makeup to such a dark resin (as i'm not used to it...) but DT tan are truly beautiful.

Given that Jong Hak is on the final stage for 2.2 line, I think they should be sent soon.

 

@citronrouge The 2.2 is great! I've been following An Jonghak's work on Instagram and it's looking absolutely neat. The posing is fantastic. I think it's reasonable to avoid darker resins on the basis of makeup, I assume it's much more difficult to paint the subtler shades of color. I'm glad I've found that some of what I thought were sanding marks were just MSC dust (?) mostly around the joints. It came off with a damp microfiber cloth.

I've had so many setbacks last year I couldn't really do a lot of work on the girls, so it's a bit painful to have these dolls home and not much to give them (lately I'm really feeling the lack of a proper camera as well, I know I'm a broken record). I admit the 18 is somewhat difficult to dress or I've been unlucky with sizing so I've got to take it slow and get them one thing at a time.

Speaking of which I had contacted Dale Zentner last year to get a couple outfits but in the end I had to withdraw... and I don't have the gall to show up again. But I can shill her work a bit I guess cause I like it a lot. She still has outfits for most of the large DT girl bodies. Don't get spooked by the year on the page, there's still a catalog, maybe not up to date but she answers e-mails.

The dollshe pale tan is dark but seems lighter, and as mentioned has a yellowy undertone so reminds me of caramel. Here's mine (18 yo body) which is 15 years old now I don't think the yellow undertone has increased too much.

 

@lutke Congrats on receiving Esmet home! That Pale tan skintone is to die for and Dollstown did a great job on the faceup, I especially love the eyeshadow. I'm looking forward to see more of her as time goes on

@aihre Thanks!! I had such high expectations for this doll, I'm super happy with how she turned out. I really love her face, she's so expressive. She goes from looking serene, almost smiling, to even more frowny than Yujin which is a lot

The one drawback of getting her blushed is that any little scuffs or shiny spots on the sealant are more noticeable than they are on lighter skin tones. I've been posing her around a lot, and like the other girls, she got the usual scuffs in places where the joints rub over the sealant. I wonder if I can just get a can of MSC and spray some of the matte back? I think going over those bits with a magic eraser will just make them shinier, so I'm leaving them be, but I might have to address the issue in the future especially since I don't want to be too precious with the dolls.
