1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Dollstown Elf Body Discussion - Part 2

May 21, 2015

    1. I am really happy with her. I still need to put a protective coating on the tattoo work on her hands, but I couldn't resist getting some photos of her, so I strung them up as-is. And now her repainted horns are drying on the fridge on stacks of magnets - the default paint job was nice, but I really did want a more red color scheme for them. Now I'm trying to decide what doll I'll be taking to the PNW BJD Expo this coming weekend, and she's up there near the top of the list, even though she definitely doesn't fit the theme, and I took her last year (incomplete) because she was a convenient size. Oh, decisions, decisions!

Thank you! I really, really love how she has turned out. I hope to get some better photos of her soon.

    2. @Robyn in WA, @Xiaoli, @Kiyakotari - wonderful girls! each one so different & creatively done.
My Jun arrived last week in Dollshe honey snow pale. I can't say how much I love her. :love
She's the color of snow, picking up shades of other colors in the shadows.
Did her faceup last week, now I'm sewing for her this week. Patterns I made for the older body work for this one too.

more pics on my bjd blog (see sig)

    4. That resin colour looks amazing *gasp* and just perfect for your Agnetha.........if I have got her name correct!
And great that you don't have to do any pattern alteration too.....that is really good hear.

    5. @petiteballerine your girl is gorgeous! That resin is so luminous. I love the Honey resins by Dollshe, they're particularly beautiful.

    6. Glad to see this thread. I have a Soph A elf girl coming soon (adopted from a previous owner). Any current list of shoes that fit? Looks like size 7/8 Monique Gold and size 14 eyes are the best bet?

    7. Congratulations!
But I haven't shopped for shoes for years for this body so I am not sure about current shoes that are for sale that would fit.
Though Kim Zentner makes fancy shoes to fit this body......she has these two pairs available at the moment.

    8. Hi! Does anyone possible have a picture reference of a DollsTown 13 body compared to a DollsTown Elf body? I've tried looking for one but can't seem to find it.

    11. Thanks, that does help! I think the 13 is certainly the one I am interested from these size comparisons, rather than the elf.

    12. Xiaoli, that is a lovely picture. Your girls are wonderful!

ker246, you are very welcome! I have multiples of the Dollstown elf body. I love it so much! It is a great size to handle.

    13. Can anyone help me with a skintone comparison? I just got my paleskin Elf- and love her. I would like to put my BeYours Chestnut on an elf body (I tried it- and it looks really good), but she is normal skin. I looked at the skintone comparison on the Dollstown site and can't really tell from the picture- which color would match a "normal" skin better- the fresh skin, or the oriental? The fresh looks very pale to me. Thanks!

    14. I'd say oriental. My RML heads and Ninodoll heads are "normal" skintone and I have one of each on Dolltown Oriental bodies.

Here's Peggy (RML on Oriental Elf body) on my desk at work yesterday although I'm not sure how well she illustrates the colour match:

    15. Yes orientalskin is the closest to normal skin.

    16. Hoping to revive this thread with a Christmas shot of my elf Maru, who I named Cecille. I think she is the first one to be posted. I am so smitten with her and had a ball doing her custom face-up.

    18. Cecile looks absolutely beautiful. You did a particularly stellar job with the blushing on her face!

    19. Oh my goodness....she is gorgeous. This is the first owner Maru I have seen on the elfbody. You really have made her look so alive. Was she easy to paint?
I would love to see more photos of her please.
