1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Dollstown Elf Body Discussion - Part 2

May 21, 2015

    1. @StellaMarigold IDK if this helps your hybridizing or not, but the dandelion head in normal, while suuuuuper close to oriental, is a smidge pinker. It just tends to not show at all with a faceup.

And some Fi for the thread. Still my favorite body <3

    2. Thanks @rianne! (And hello, lovely Fiona!)

Judging by how creamy / yellowy the Fresh is, I was guessing Oriental would be a bit more yellow, but since the tone is basically the same it seems to work out okay. All the Dandelion-Elf hybrids I've seen have been this combination (Bimong Normal and DT Oriental) and your Fiona looks perfectly matched.

By the way, if you have a moment, I wanted to ask a question about the shoe reference on your blog (thank you again for sharing your findings!):

At first I thought you meant that the DT Elf can only wear Volks-MSD-size sneakers, but upon re-reading, I'm wondering if you meant she can fit Volks-MSD-size shoes in general.

When I looked up Volks MSD feet, they seemed to be measured at 5.5cm x 2.5cm, which seems quite a bit smaller than the measurements Dollstown gives the Elf feet (6.4cm x 2.5cm). But then I know the Elf can fit some slim SD16 heels and most of the SD16 shoes places like sweetiiger on ebay sell are 7.5cm inner length, so DT's measurements must be accurate...

      I'm so confused :?

I have found several styles I would like to try, but often I don't know whether to buy MSD or SD size.

For example, I absolutely love the detail on these flats, but I'm afraid SD size will be too big. They are made for a 6.5cm x 3cm foot, and the seller told me the outer length is 7.8cm. MSD size is sold out now, but there is a chance it will return next year, so I could wait for it.

      Thank you!

Edited to add: I'm going to actually contribute to the shoe search soon. I'm intending to buy some different styles and save them for when the body arrives.

    3. @StellaMarigold Basically, most MSD shoes are somewhat oversize. For the shoes you linked, the elf foot will probably squeeze into it, but the strap will likely not buckle. Their shoes are a bit snugger. At the same time, the SD size will be a bit long. Ah the joys of an in-between foot size ^^;

    4. Aw, man - there is no easy answer, haha!

But thank you very much for your experience!

I may still try the SD size for those flats since they are so pretty, and it is hard to find flats that aren't either patent leather or with bows. Bigger is better than having straps that don't buckle.

The DT feet are small and elegant, so with socks they might look pretty nice proportionally even if the shoes are a bit long.

I am definitely going to MAKE shoes for her in the future.

    5. Thank you @StellaMarigold for information on hands resin match as well as link for those lovely shoes.
My girls would love jointed fingers so they could hold their cameras for taking photos. I will have to look second hand, as I have had it with long waits from companies. Thank goodness Dollstown is so good about shipping at reasonable time frames. My list gets longer.

    6. You're welcome, @animemom!

I didn't know that Dollstown is good about shipping. How long is the usual wait for a body?

    7. If it's not a new one, like a new version about two months. If it's one they just came out with then three to four. Compared to Dollshe not bad at all.

    8. Oh my GOSH, she looks awesome! I love that sculpt and would never have thought of hybriding her on the elf body!! Wow. And you've styled her gorgeously!

Makes me wonder how many of the other larger MSD heads I like could work on the elf..?

    9. Probably quite a few - I know several people have used the DT Elf body for the Ninodoll Shampoo head, for example.

It's tempting to do the same for the floating Shampoo I have in the box of failed heads for the Baby Delf body...

But then I'd have another doll to find space for and another Elf body to clothe... And, at the moment, I'd be hard pressed to find the money for another DT Elf body.

    10. So true! Well, for me it wouldn't be a new version, so that's really great! Thank you!

    11. I hybrid my Irrealdoll Ringo head on the Elf body and I would use elf body for any head 8" to 8.4" especially if a long thin face. I am doing a Black Cherry Xiao Yu head hopefully by Halloween, and since my then three elf body girls are same size basically I can have them share clothes and shoes. I have at least one pair of pants for each and several tops. Only one dress, but that's fine only one is willing to wear a dress. but sundresses are easy to find if another decided she'd dress up.

If Dollstown ever made a boy version of the elf body I would so buy at least two and make some really awesome boys as I love boys more, but the boy bodies at Dollstown are not very many which is sad, because Dollstown makes the best bodies.

    12. I look forward to seeing your Xiao Yu hybrid! She has a beautiful little face!

It sure is a help to have dolls that can share shoes and clothes! I haven't been able to achieve that yet, as I have a very scattered collection at the moment (most of them haven't even shipped yet, though). Thank you for the recommendation on the head size - I would like to use other heads with the body eventually, as I love versatility for characters, but don't have space for too many dolls.

    13. If I were to get a elf body for the SHampoo head, my two Elf-bodied girls wouldn't be able to share clothes as they'd be very different in style - my current Elf-bodied girl is 1920s/30s and the Shampoo girl would be unlikley to be form the same era.

    15. Did we not try the Shampoo head on an elf body and not like it, or was that another body..? I love Shampoo and she'd be on my list, only I Can't Have Every Doll I See, and I need to keep telling myself that...

    16. Lovely

That was the Baby Delf body, which was altogether too chunky for that head. I think I tried it in Edith's Volks body too, and it looked too small.

I'm avoiding trying the head on Peggy's DT Elf body because it might prove just too tempting.

      Don't we all.

    17. Adding to this informal wait time database haha: My DT waits have been 1-2 months.

@JinCIncy Ahhh, I love her with her fiery hair!

@Alice80 Thank you! This is the most common Dandelion hybrid I think, so you can find a lot of good references for how it looks if you like. GreenWolfy on Flickr/insta has an amazing girl too. :D

    18. Sorry to barge in but I was wondering if anyone knows if the Azura head would work on an elfbody?

      • x 1
    19. I did that and although a tad big it worked. Just think of long thin hair over a short shaggy wig.
