It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Dollstown Elf Body Discussion - Part 2

May 21, 2015

    1. Wren is adorable and looks so good in that lovely dress.

      Teddy

    2. Hi all! Lovely dolls on here~

I just fell hard for the lovely DT Elf Soyu sculpt & I'll possibly add her to my collection over the summer. :whee:
My doll family is mostly SD and I had been craving an MSD, so finding out about the DT Elf line was truly awesome; their size puts them right in between the average SD and MSD. I'd like to ask owners, how do you find the Elf body fits into an SD family? Also, is it easy to clothes and find shoes for? Any info is greatly appreciated! ^^

Also, if anyone has a Soyu & would like to share pictures, I'm all eyes~ :D

    3. My Wren (oriental Soyu Elf) is modeling part of a commission that I just finished for
the Dollstown Elf body. The costume was inspired by a movie costume. I don't
have her coat on in this image - but you can see the rest of the outfit here.

I love sewing for these gals - they are a delight to handle and even fun to dress.
I would not say that finding shoes for them is easy tho @Dayme. It can be done,
but not easy. As I do a lot of sewing, I also have not looked for clothing for the
body - I knew I wanted to make costumes for my gals!! Somehow I've ended
      up with 'twin' Soyu gals.

Wren was painted by Jay Searle, she wears custom Gumdrops urethane eyes,
      and a Monique Gold wig.

    4. Hello again @Robyn_in_WA! ^^ You seem to be an avid Dollstown collector (we met on the DT17 thread as well~)

I saw your Soyu girls when browsing the thread; they are both absolutely gorgeous! I want one more and more now~
Your costume is simply amazing; Love the tiny buttons and scarf. I'm thinking of also making my own DT clothing, or buying some Feeple60 sized clothing (apparently, they are similar in size?) I'll keep an eye out for shoes that would fit them! Thanks for the info~

    5. Hi @Dayme! I thought I recognized your name!! :) Thank you for your lovely compliment!!!!

If you get a DT Elf - I cannot imagine your not being happy! They are just charming! And so
fun to play with and dress. They are easy to sew for as the bust is quite small. As for fitting
Feeple60 - I guess I'd be surprised as the Feeple has a huge bust and is about 2cm taller.
But I could be wrong. I've never seen a Feeple60 in person. I find the shoes for my
gals by searching for 64-66mm lengths. Some MSD size shoes fit, but maybe most don't.
Hope that you get one of these amazing gals!!!

    6. Dayme I agree with Robyn................Feeple 60 clothes are likely to be way too big to fit the DT Elfbody. I also agree that shoes take some finding too though Kim Zentner makes custom shoes to fit this body.

And Robyn I love this new outfit Wren looks adorable in it. I particularly like the waistcoat........I would love to see the rest of the outfit but your link wasn't there.
Pretty please can I see a photo of Wren with her coat on :)

    7. Yes, you are both right when it comes to sizing. For some reason I only took into account height & figured clothing would fit, but in terms of width, the Elf body would probably float in Feeple60 clothing ^^"

Also @Robyn_in_WA, could you please tell me what eye size & wig size your Soyus are wearing? I've already started wig & eye shopping for my Soyu project hehe

I saw a great Crobidoll wig for the project I have in mind, but Crobi only offers the style in 7-8" & 9-10"... I read on the DT website that Soyu's head is around 8.3 inches; is it a no go? :pout:

    8. Thank You @Jane!!! I posted a few more pix in the Gallery - but - here is the coat:

      gallery post is https://denofangels.com/threads/dollstown-elf-models-new-costume.710820/

@Dayme - my Wren and Fawn both wear Gumdrops urethane eyes in 14mm
and Monique Gold wigs in size 7/8 - their wigs are a bit more stretchy than some
and I like how the 7/8 fits snugly and isn't hugely full of hair then! I have several
pair of the Kim Zentner sandals! They're cute! and have bought some shoes
and boots from ebay and NineStyle... Email me if you would like! You might
very well be able to get the 7/8 crobi wig to work.

    9. Beautiful work. She looks lovely in it too.

      Teddy

    10. @Robyn_in_WA That coat is stunning! You're very talented! :D

& thank you for the sizing info about your Soyus; I'm glad to hear they wear 7/8" wigs from Monique! I'll probably start buying wigs and eyes right away and order the doll itself over the Summer; DT seems to have an "in stock" option which is very interesting. In fact, how are they in terms of producing & shipping their dolls?

I looked up the Kim Zenther sandals and they are adorable. I'll be looking around for shoes as well. In fact, I'll checkout NineStyle right away! :3nodding:

    11. with regards to the nine9style shoes - do you get the msd size or sd13 ?

    12. I love the coat.....wow! In fact I love the whole outfit.

And I second Samson's question please :whee:

    13. Thank you @Jane!!! :) My customer was extremely well pleased with the outfit too!

Ok @samson and @Jane - the NineStyle sandals were the "strap twist sandal" - they come in
red, blue, pink, brown and I think black. I bought the MSD size --- NOT the SD size. I did have
to make an adjustment to the ankle strap - I sewed the metal buckle to the last hole of the strap as
the strap is just a tick too short. The ankle strap then buckles "normally". I think that perhaps
the MSD ankles are just a little bit smaller than DT Elf??

And there are sometimes shoes/boots in the Marketplace too. I found one pair of crochet'd shoes
on etsy - really cute - but have forgotten the artisan's name (sorry).

    14. Thank you for the information Robyn! It is quite a journey finding shoes to fit this body! LOL!

    15. These are my Soyu. I fell in love with the head when it came out.

    16. I do love how you dress your dolls in similar outfits.

      Teddy

    17. I second what Teddy has said and I love your original concept here too........what a trio of pretty fairies they are :)

    18. Here's my (finally completed) tan SophB, Tuuli ys Merialeth. Sorry for the major flash action, but that's what happens when you're taking photos in a traffic circle on your phone's camera in the middle of the night.

I do think I'm going to paint her horns to be darker. And I might get her the newer version of the elf body (she has the original).

    20. Oh! She looks very striking.
