1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Dollstown Mini discussion part 6

Jul 1, 2016

    1. Could be the fact fewer people wanted to wait for them to be cast. It would be one thing if we knew Dollshe was like, " hey Dollstown we are going to cast four boys in honey Carmel, do you want to cast a couple of your dolls in that skin tone? We can do two heads and two bodies for you."

It's not like they compete as Dollshe is a whole different esthetic then Dollstown dolls. Small heads, big lean bodies. Dollstown is more proportional heads and bodies, until you get to their 17 and 18 year boys and girls.

    2. I missed it too.

And it looks like they're discontinuing a lot more heads (including more "recent" ones like Alina....!!!)

      Seems likely.

It's a shame though, and means that if anything happens to January's hands or feet I couldn't just order a replacement pair in the right skin type or colour.

    3. I missed out that the discontinued the 5 yo body - I guess I'm glad I have one more in reserve as well. Since he still has heads I wonder if he will make a new one?

    4. @Teddy I wouldn't worry about the feet, but maybe email Jonghak An about getting the hands now, better safe than sorry.

    5. As my mother would say, "I'll burn that bridge while I'm crossing it..." I won't borrow trouble ahead of time. January's hands might never have such a mishap.

We can but hope. It seems silly to sell heads without the body to go with them... although there are plenty of companies that don't d bodies, or just sold heads to be hybrided onto other bodies for years.

    6. I don't like any other child body other than Dollstown. They make them realistic right down to the fingers. I am hoping they make the new body, if that is plan, make it gender neutral so can be used for boy or girl.

    7. To be honest the old body could easily be dressed as a boy. It's quite flat chested.

Sorry it took a while but I jsut grabbed both of them for a couple of quick shots and - you're right, the boys are more flat... I could have sworn they were the same except for the lower-torso part:

I don't know why they bothered - I mean they're meant to be seven year olds, for goodness sake!

I know I have a couple of SD size girls on SD sized boy bodies because it's so hard to find immature girl bodies in that size and I wanted a bit of variation than having them all on the Volks SD10 girl body and boy bodies have the right silhouette for undeveloped girl bodies so work well for variation.

    8. Kaito's new chest section; really just his old one sanded is arriving today. Once he's together can share a photo, but he wasn't blushed so he will look like he has two circles of paleness on his chest. But he can wear t-shirts and no bumps. I just wish I could get the other Boy his body, but was to big a risk I wouldn't have the funds in time. So happy Kaito is going to Disney World with me in October.

    9. Thanks @Teddy for the photos. I really do miss the boy body in both the 7 & 5 year sizes. Do the hands look different?

    10. Everything else is the same. Just the torso parts are different.

Good luck getting Kaito back together

    11. Thanks. I sent you a PM here. I started a page on Facebook for Dollstown dolls. If you would like to join these photos would be helpful there as well.

    12. They're "public" in my Flickr albums, if thqat's any help...?

Now I have a half-dressed Arin and January from the comparison photo's, so I should take the opportunity to change them. Poor Arin's current sailor-suit is too warm for the hot summer temperatures we're currently sufferign so I'd better go and dig out his box of clothes.

January is spoiled for choice and only gettign changed because she has so many outfits that need to see the light of day occasionally.

    13. Thanks for the offer @Teddy but we don't use photos except Dollstown and that is only to post a new head or body. All the photos have to belong to the person posting them. I am sure someone in our group has a boy and girl body they can share a photo of.
      Thanks.

    14. Kaito's torso is back. So here is photo of the new chest.

As you can see the sand markings are visible. But we are fine with this as he mainly wears t-shirts, at least now they can fit properly.

    15. Glad to see Kaito is back together - Yay!

OK, but surely you could just post a link to them since they're publicly available on my Flickr account...?

Arin and January, once changed, decided to have a ride on their bikes in the garden:

    16. @Teddy They both have fantastic bikes. I think I am going to spoil my three with a couple of horses. I just need to wait for a buy one get one half price. I miss riding my horse, but my back doesn't. Plus I was never really that good of a rider. Anyway the worst part was not having anyone to ride with. So I have to get them two horses, so they don't ride alone.
If no one can share a photo of the two seven year bodies, I will link to your Flickr one. Thanks.

    17. Thanks!

January's is American Girl and Arin's came from Ebay so I don't know where it originated but it's all thanks to Jane and the one she has for her Arin girl, Edith (My Arin had trike envy).

What horses will you get yours?

It's similar with me and flying trapese. I miss it, I loved doing it but my carpal tunnel doesn't miss it, and I was never very good at it anyway.

    18. @Teddy I am looking at the horses available at Target under their brand of Our Generation items. I will keep my eye on the flyers that come out every week and buy when they have a good sale. I have two on my wish list. One comes with a proper western saddle, the other with an English saddle. They had one I liked, but strap was on wrong way. So maybe if I can add a strap will get that one two. The brother and sister will share the western saddle one, and the second boy and his teenage sister will share the English saddle one. I have a head on order from Russia, and I ordered the body last weekend from Dollstown. So those two kids both won't be done much before Christmas. So maybe hope for a horse on clearance or just a good sale.

    19. Good Hunting then! I'll look forward to seeing them on their horses.
