Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Dolly Birthdays

Jun 19, 2011

    1. I like the idea of doll anniversaries! It seems like a great way to keep track of when you got your dolls... and an excuse to buy them anniversary gifts in the form of new stuff :whee:

    2. Well, I'll never really know the day my dolls were pulled from the mold and assembled, but I do know what year both of my girls were made.
They were bought 2nd hand, and their former owners listed their year of 'birth'.

As much as I would love to say it's Freya's 4th birthday this year I will just say it's her 1 year anniversary of arrival with me! :)
I will still keep track of her age, but I think the day she arrived into my life is way more worth celebrating!!

May 19th, will be our 1 year! And as silly as it sounds I do plan to celebrate it with her!
She'll probably get a new outfit, or something nice done for her! :D

    3. I don't base my dolls on pre-made characters, but they do develop personalities once they get here.
I tend to pick a birthday for them based around horoscopes and what I think suits them.

That said, I do keep track of their arrival dates (and the date I ordered them) as well. I haven't been very good at celebrating either of these dates, but it is my goal to change that this year. An excuse to spoil an individual doll without feeling guilty for not doing anything for the others XD

    4. I reeeeaaaalllly want to give my dolls birthdays, but for some reason it worked out that all my characters have no idea when they were born XD

    5. I am one that could forget her own birthday so memorizing theirs is like mission impossible for me xD I think i want to celebrate them like i did when i was younger, when i had baby borns (i was 7 at that time tho xD) i would just ask my mom to buy cake and i invited friends to come to my doll's birthday party whenever i felt like it! (it was quite normal that the baby born had 3 birthdays a year). Not that i would reaaaally celebrate it or anything, but i like the idea of just throwing them a party (taking pictures of them, put them in a birthday outfit, including a funny hat and stuff) whenever i feel like it, and also, if they are in lack of attention it would really give a boost to the bonding and attention giving to just throw them a party randomly! :)

    6. My dolls have two 'birthdays' each. One is the date the doll itself arrived with me (where the 'doll' is defined by its head - fantasy parts don't get birthdays :XD:). The other is the doll's character's birthday, which I work out based on my own fictional calendar and zodiac.

    7. I never considered having birthdays for them, but if I did I would assign a birthdate according to their character.

    8. It varies a lot for me--sometimes I will give it based on when the doll arrived or was released. Other times, I will base it off what their personality is like. I don't always think about it though so sometimes, I do not give one at all.

    9. Mine are the character's birthday. In the case of my Okita Souji doll, since no one knows his actual birthday, I based it off of the seasonality of the clothes he wears in Hakuoki.

    10. I wanted to give my dolls the birthdays of the day they arrived. But I forget them, lol. Although I don't think it would be too hard to go back to pictures or messages to find when they arrived.

    11. No, it's not too much. It's sweet :) I just celebrate moderately by spending more time with him and eating a piece of cake. No biggy. But it won't be the same for people who have like 20 dolls

    12. My dolls do have birthdays, they are the days that they come home to me. My Pepper just came in so her birthday is April 18th 2013. And Nunnally's birthday is December 25th 2012.

    13. How do u determine your dolls birthday? base on the date your doll was made,or the date the doll arrived?
My doll is capricorn. It is base on the date she was made, i receive her a month later

    14. Hmm. That's an interesting question. :XD:
Tbh, my main doll (a highly stylized version of myself) has my same horoscope (leo) and birthday.
My other three dolls are when they arrived.
      2 Scorpio and 1 Libra.

    15. My dolls have birthdays based on, when their character was born in the story, they're from. (Which I totally based on horoscopes, because I love stuff like that :XD:)

    16. I hadn't thought of that. I guess I would pick any date I liked or pick one that matches the general personality I give my doll.

I've only decided on one. Cosette (lol i'm pretty sure I spell her name differently every time) is Scorpio.

    17. Since my dolls are all avatars of original characters, their birthdays are the characters' birthdays. The characters' birthdays are not based on horoscopes, and arrival dates really don't have anything to do with it for me either unless the arrival date happens to coincide with the character's birthday. My Souldoll Vito Lester, for instance, arrived in August and the character's birthday also happens to be in August. Usually it doesn't work out that way, though.

    18. I went by the date on my doll's CoA. He's a Taurus, which is a sign I get along well with (lucky for us, lol). He is based off a character I play in D&D, but that character only has an age and not a birth date.

    19. I celebrate my BJD's birthdays) Make them a little birthday party photoshoot and some presents like new clothes or shoes.

    20. ...You want me to remember 22 birthdays? I'm rubbish at birthdays as it is; I'd forget my own, and I have to use all sorts of birthday alarms so as not to forget those of my family and friends. So no, please spare me the birthdays of dolls... :sweat
