Dolly Cross-Dressing

Sep 11, 2007

    1. Emphasis mine. Armeleia, you answered your own question. At least, for me anyway.

    2. i dont like it but who am i to tell someone how to dress their dolls. im sure some people dont like how i dress mine, but since i like it, thats all that really matters.
      best wishes to all

    3. a. I don't think there's anything wrong with underaged crossdressers. After all, one of my friend's cross-dressed in his spare time, before he was an adult. xD So... It happens in real life, why not with dolls?

      b. I suppose that's really up to the doll owner, and personal taste. (:

      c. I don't see any problem with it. (:

    4. a] is it unethical/wrong to picture "underage" (that means 21 for me) dolls cross-dressing?
I don't think so o__O My mother always used to dress me up like a boy until I was like 12 :sweat I'm sure there are heaps of people who crossdress, so why would it be wrong for dolls?

b] when cross dressing how far does one go? Does one leave it to feminine clothing/face-up? or does one go all the way?
I guess it depends on the person?

c] Is it wrong to post pictures of your cross-dressers?
No, people can post what they want.

    5. Why would there be anything wrong with underage cross dressers? As long as I'm not seeing tiny boys in miniskirts propositioning themselves to Hounds for cash I'm good. It's not the form of dress that's unethical, it's what's done with the dolls while they're in that form of dress... or out of it. Eew.

I admit, even with owning a cross dressing doll, sometimes it gets old. It's refreshing to see a MNF Shiwoo that's actually boyish, an El in pants, a Lishe that's actually a girl, etc. But I fail to see how ethics even really plays into it at all.

    6. I think this is hard. As most of the guy dolls can look very girly.

I was concidering cross dressing mine. But if his character isn't up to it. Then I won't force him. My friend who is a guy is dieing to crosss dress him but I am not to sure. Though characters I design sometime cross dress. I feel this one won't.

However I don't think there's any age limit on cross dressing. Like in fruits basket where that rabbit boy where's a girls uniform because it simply looks better on him. I also beleive that clouthes arn't really for certain genders ^_^ so mix and match always for me.

    7. I don't think it's wrong. I mean.. it's the owners choice on how that dress their dolls...personally, when I get my doll, depending on how I feel about him after I've had him for a bit...I would purchase more effeminate clothing for him. I mean..my mind kinda thinks down that path anyway, so whatever. I don't see that it's wrong at all. As long as your having fun and you like what you're doing. Just don't push it off on other people who may not share the same views.

    8. It's not wrong. :3
There are some boy dolls who looks better in dress than 'normal clothes'. Cx
Well it may look stupid/funny if doll that looks like a gangsta or badass, or like, is dressing like a lolita but it's owners decision.

    9. Now normally this is a topic I don't really have an opinion on either way, I figure people can do what they wish to their dolls but I thought I would bring up one little factoid which might be of interest. In Europe up until about the 20th century both female AND male children were dressed in skirts when they were young. This made it much easier for their diapers/nappies to be changed. It was one of the rights of passage of being male to "be breeched" - to go from the wearing of skirts of young childhood to the breeches of boyhood. So in effect, all young boys were "cross-dressing" and there are many historical portraits depicting this. Therefore it would be perfectly natural for people to put their young boy dolls in skirts. It would be kind of neat to have a photostory about a boy who finally has been breeched. Just a little historical trivia for everyone. If anyone wants to see some of these portraits, I will happily help you track some of them down - just PM me. :)

    10. a] is it unethical/wrong to picture "underage" (that means 21 for me) dolls cross-dressing?

Nope. Never had an issue against that. Dolls can dress up however they want, I feel.

b] when cross dressing how far does one go? Does one leave it to feminine clothing/face-up? or does one go all the way?

Anything goes, as long as it looks good. Some of the guys do seem pretty feminine with the default face up so...

c] Is it wrong to post pictures of your cross-dressers?

As long as you're not gonna offend someone, why not? And if it's in pretty public places (like forums or what not) and you don't want to offend anyone accidentally, a simple 'crossdress photoshoot' in the title won't hurt.

    11. well.....there's nothing wrong with crossdressing no of days, heck we even have those who went beyond crossdress and have a sex change, which ever floats thier boat is what I say.

Depends on that, some love to just look and feel more pretty, but not be it, vice virsa really

a picture tell a millions words....and if they are lovely, why not!

i'm sure those of the older, older genernation would die of shock, but hey, life move on.

    12. pardon me if i already replied to this post, the questions seemed familiar, but i don't think i responded. so here i go:

a] is it unethical/wrong to picture "underage" (that means 21 for me) dolls cross-dressing?
      absolutely not.

b] when cross dressing how far does one go? Does one leave it to feminine clothing/face-up? or does one go all the way?
people should do whatever they want with their dolls! this hobby should encourage personal expression!

c] Is it wrong to post pictures of your cross-dressers?
absolutely not, again. i don't understand why it would be. ;)

    13. a) I don't think so unless the cross-dressing is a sexual thing in the picture, that's when it would get squicky for me. Little boys dress up in girls' clothing all the time, my brother loved high-heels when he was four and five, and I don't think I've met a teen boy who hasn't gone in drag once in a while, my boyfriend has probably worn more mini-dresses than me, I've only started to wear skirts and dresses in the last couple of years

      b) That's up to the dolly owner.

      c) I don't think so. Cross-dressing can look very cute on tinies, and I adore the full drag make up and costumes in RL, so I would admire someone who took the time and effort to make up their doll in that way and I'd love pictures!

    14. Actually, this was also done in America. My mother and her twin brother were photographed as children in long white dresses sometime in the 1930's in Arkansas. My mother said people did this quite a lot back then. I don't know if the rite of passage thing was applicable here. There are quite a few such photographs around.

    15. I've always considered the staunch gender stance to be rather silly. I mean, who you are has more to do with what pairing of chromosomes you were born with. Clothing is simply an outward covering that can either express who you feel you are on the inside or it can hide who you feel you are on the inside. It really doesn't mean anything or say anything at all. As such there is absolutely nothing immoral or wrong should a man wish to wear a dress or a woman wish to wear a tuxedo and tails. [I look pretty good in tails actually. ;)]

Plus, consider that what is considered 'feminine' or 'masculine' varies greatly per culture or society. It really negates the whole idea of cross-dressing in the first place. To make a point, Scottish men wear kilts in Scotland, but it would be considered a skirt if an American man wore one. Some cultures the women wear make-up to impress the men, and in others the men wear make-up to impress the woman. *shrugs*

I tend to be a rather tolerant individual in my opinions. I say if your comfortable wearing it than wear it, and that applies to dolls or humans alike.

    16. I certainly don't think it's 'wrong' or 'unethical' but, as a personal preference, I don't like it. Seems like I've seen a lot of cross-dressing dolls and, just like yaoi, I'm very sick and tired of it. I do not have strong religious beliefs, but after a while it's refreshing to see an actual boy dressed as a boy. @_@ I don't mind feminine faceups or appearances, though.

    17. a] is it unethical/wrong to picture "underage" (that means 21 for me) dolls cross-dressing?
I would assume not, they aren't 'real people', in most cases, and a doll is a doll. Wether it be a a doll shaped as a six-year-old or fifty-two year old.Hey Most guys at the age of six wore their mom's dresses and heels!

b] when cross dressing how far does one go? Does one leave it to feminine clothing/face-up? or does one go all the way?
It is their doll, personally, I don't think I would do it, but if others do, its completely okay. I sometimes find it creative as poart of a character.

c] Is it wrong to post pictures of your cross-dressers?
NO! YOu should be allowed to post pictures of your doll the way you want to dress it. And if people are really that offended they shouldn't be looking at those threads and pm-ing their owners. It was their choice to dress them, and yours to view the picture/thread.

    18. i LOVE cross-dressing dolls! but then i think it might stem from complications in my childhood :sweat
i dont see anything wrong with putting a male child doll in a little maid outfit; it's just so cute to me. i know some people have problems with it but i really like it. :)
on the other hand, alot of male dolls have very feminine faces and figures anyway. you could take the head off a male doll, put it on a female body and it wouldnt make much difference. they're dolls, not real people.
i dont think ken would look very good dressed in barbie's clothes though LOL!

    19. Crossdressing is fine in my book regardless of age. As long as they're not underage, it can even be in a sexual manner, just not here ;)
How far? Not sure what you meant, but I've considered stuffing the front of my boy's dress...X3
Photos...why not? They're just photos of dollies looking pretty.
Granted, I think of "underage" as under 14, so that's also a slightly different standard, so it makes 18-21 seem even more acceptable in my eyes.

    20. I've always felt they're just clothes. As long as they're on they are acceptable. Anyone should be allowed to post a picture of the doll they put so much time and effort into.
