So they only offer WS now? That seems... very limiting.

 

They offer White, Pink, and Peach, I think
So...Just mild variations on the same thing

I don't have any pink toned dolls but I could probably get behind a peach one. Maybe.

 

I hear that the peach is incredibly inconsistent. I know several people who have them and the color ranges from “rosy white” to matching the pink skin

I’d love to rebuy my Nighthawk in peach, but knowing how much of a crapshoot it is makes me too nervous to. Rosy white would be perfect, pink would be too dark

 

That's disappointing. I'd be okay-ish with rosy white but pink is a hard no for me.

 

I'm still sad they axed their old NY - the dark peachy, almost light tan color - it was gorgeous! I've been super hesitant to work on Leviathan (she needs her other eye opened up) because I absolutely can't replace her if something goes wrong because of it

This is the color I'm mourning - it was So Pretty!

But let's be honest, when has DollZone not had an inconsistent resin colour option. Remember the year their tans turned out bright orange?

 

Someone in my local group has a Mo in one of their spray-tan oranges. It was... interesting to be sure.

 

If I was on the receiving end of a doll that colour I'd be furious. (It's happened before when I ordered a head from a certain dealer and they stuffed up). Ugh

 

Someone in the Impl thread had ordered a tan doll several years ago and when they received it he was Oompa-Loompa orange. They were rather displeased about that. Iple had problems with their tan years ago, too, where it went olive green rather quickly.

I have 2 AoD boys that are tan (a lovely butterscotch colour) and after nearly 13 years, they're still the same colour. Or at least they appear so to me. Any mellowing is completely even and through-and-through as the resin inside their head cap is the same as the outside resin. One of them is my favourite doll and has been heavily played with including going on vacations with me where I've travelled to other countries.

Tan seems to be one of those colours that companies either get right or it goes horribly wrong.

 

I’ve had one of the bad orange dc tans before, it was...Something else for sure.

I can’t say for others as I haven’t seen their tans, but dz/dc/dv tan issues seem to stem from the fact that they’re translucent tans, but I can’t grasp why they wouldn’t have a sort of “recipe” to follow to keep them more consistent

 

Winning the inconsistent colour contest has to be Soom. I have 3 Soom greys and none of them are the same. A friend has 2 tawny (tan) Sooms and you'd swear up and down that they can't both be "tawny" because they're so incredibly different. But just to throw a monkey wrench into things, the 2 Soom ebony boys I have (different releases) are the exact same shade.

You'd think that when it comes to colours (tan or otherwise) that they'd write down the amount/ratio of each dye so there would be reasonable consistency. There is human error of course but still. Then again, I'm not a doll maker so maybe there's more to it than I assume.

 

My tan DZ cat head matches a Naiko head that is supposed to be Soom tawny colour resin. I think I’m never finding a body match, better blush the whole dang thing... at least he’s not orange though

 

At least blushing is an option. Or dying if you're adventurous/confident. You could always go all in and dye the head black and put it with a WS/NS body in the way that Soom did the Ender jackal head release.

 

My boy Valentine is on the B70-003 body in this color. His head has been reshelled so he’s no longer on topic for this thread, but his old head is now a girl so I could post her… either way, this nys was beautiful and rich, even if hard to match!

 

Took Edan out in the garden but only got a couple of photos because MOSQUITOES. I'm surprised I didn't get a photo with them in it.

It's always a little funny when I see mosquitoes landing on my dolls, then not so funny when thy realise I'm a tastier option.

 

You know, I can't remember ever having gotten a mosquito bite in my life. Ever. Everyone around me gets eaten alive and I don't get a single bite, it's really weird now that I think about it

 

You are so lucky, Girrl! Mosquitoes frickin' love me! Some people say it has something to do with blood types.
