1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

DollZone Moment and Anson discussion part 1

Oct 14, 2011

    1. I have to admit, I was naughty. I'm also very lucky to have such generous friends. A Moment moved in... I'm out of town for the weekend, but I can't wait until he meets Anson.

    2. Not gonna lie, the first thing I fell in love with on Moment was 'dem curves. - 3 - Oh, hnngh, that body is glorious! I seriously can't wait until I can finally hold my Moment. ; 3 ;

    3. I completely forgot about this thread as I'm still waiting on my Moment..........:sweat

He has to arrive this month!! (fingers and toes crossed)

    4. I've been stocking up on some stuff for when my Anson gets here (I can't tell if it's tiding me over until she gets here or just making me more nervous *_*) and I need some opinions on eyes.

Has there been any discussion on which size eyes look best in her? I've been looking and can't find anything so I thought I'd bring it up. Because I've never had a doll before it's pretty hard for me to judge these kids of things, but I thought that maybe a smaller size would be good because I don't want to take up too much of the already small opened space she has, but would 14mm eyes fit well enough?

Of course I could always wait to see what random eyes I get with her, and take it from there...

    5. On Dollzone it says she wears 14mm....but I've been wondering if it would even matter at all, since you can hardly see her eyes.
Anyone who owns her have an opinion on the eye size?*_*

    6. thanks for the pictures! It seems like the 16mm fill up too much of the eyes with the iris for my taste. Maybe the 'blind' type eyes without the pupil in 16mm would be less... busy and look good without leaving gaps like the 14mm?
I'll have to experiment when my anson gets home, but right now I think I'll be getting 14mm eyes just for the sake of having a more realistically sized iris/pupils.

    7. Yes, they do come with eyes. (And that lack of needing a wig is a bonus...and for frugality sake, I'm convinced my Bohemia Rose needs to put her bare feet into the dirt for nutrients of course, which means no shoes either.):sweat Works for me!:) I have Ersa Flora 14mm eyes in mine (her originals were way too perfect for another of my dolls so I changed them.) She also fits ginarolo's glass eyes in 14mm because I tried those out on her as well.

    8. lol - i go even further with almost no clothing planned for mine ^^

but yep, they do come with eyes and i think i have 14s currently in my boy.... but they could be 16s, i don't really recall as i only have the whites showing to help with the statue effect.

    9. I pick up extra neodyminium magnets on ebay whenever I need them. And as for clothing...well, yeah,:sweat my Bohemia Rose thinks she's a real clothes horse, so she'd never let me get away with simple draping. She went for the no shoes, no wig, no mate Moment (which saved me a bundle) but she really put her petals to the metal when it came to clothing...so bohemian fashion diva she is!;)

    10. From measuring, it appears they are 1/8 inch. Now I've checked (I haven't actually installed them yet) and it appears that the 1/8 by 1/8 would fit and be strong enough, but you might have to drill a little bit deeper to accomodate them. I'm guessing Dollzone used the 1/8 by 1/16 which are very thin and not nearly as strong, hence the weakness.

    11. I'd also like to thank you for the magnet advice! My Moment's right um... 'ear' petal seems to stay on fine but the left one doesn't seem to want to stay put. I should look into replacement magnets as well :)

    12. Poeticsoul, I've been meaning to ask, what did you use to draw on the pictures for your Bohemia Rose?

    13. Watercolor pencils in various shades of gray.:) Then I blushed her with pastels.

    14. Ah! so i pulled Anson out today... swapped her eyes out and swathed her in a piece of fabric... now i can tell shes a very snarky lady/plant thing.

      she is very smug.

    15. Everyone is talking about January orders. I ordered Anson December 1 from DDE and still no word on her. This is really a long time to wait. I would have thought she would be here a long time ago. The people that ordered her and Moment at the very beginning got theirs very quickly. I am having to learn to be patient. All the talk about stringing arms has left my memory. I will have to go back and read it all again because that is one thing I am very nervous about. I have never strung a BJD and didn't think I ever would have to. Removing the head was bad enough although now it is really easy. I just get all worked up over things I have never done before. Worried about breaking something. So it is almost 5 months I have been waiting. Coming close to my6 month wait for Dandelion MSD doll from Narin but went through Dollfair International. That was a real fiasco and wasn't right when she did eventually came. I hope Anson is perfect because if she isn't you will all hear me scream all over the world.

    16. I don't have any time to modify and paint him or make his clothes yet, so I guess I'm not in a hurry to get my Moment home. I keep forgetting to ask, does DollZone use UV protect resin?

    17. Not sure if I'll have the time to blush him, but he's got eyes and clothing here waiting for him. That and I like instant gratification; I'm not good at waiting. Lol.
As far as I know I don't think they do produce UV protect resin.

    18. Okay, I started to work on my Moment months ago, and then all of a suden I got tons of job to do after school .. So he has been resting in pieces in an shoe box for week, and that gives med angst, tons of it ...

Today I finished the underwork and put him together again just to get it of my mind. I'm not finished, and I'm not happy with him at all .. >_>

But, I wanthet to share him anyway.
When I get my life back mabye I will be motivated to continue. I will make some clothes for him to ... some day ... ^^'
