It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. DollZone Moment and Anson discussion part 1

Oct 14, 2011

    1. So gorgeous! *oggles*

So far, Memento Mori's petal arms have been mistaken for a) crab claws and b) eggshells, which I find terribly amusing. Apparently it is a sculpt that transcends plant-based imagery...!

    2. darkmothflame, I'm so happy with the outcome of your amazing Moment! He looks fabulous and so natural. I'm actually finding that ever-so-slight color difference a plus in how it makes him look even more like natural marble. You did a stunning artistic rendering here and I truly love his originality! I can just see him standing in a long forgotten garden or a museum display or ??? The sky's the limit insofar as storyline is concerned with this boy...he certainly gets the imagination going, that's for sure!:)

    3. darkmothflame I must agree with everything PoeticSoul said. Truly inspiring work!
Has anyone heard approximately when Denver Doll expects the dolls ordered the last few days they were offered? My pair have been paid off for a few weeks, so now I am starting to get heebeegeebees. Every doll I see completed gives me a new perspective of these stunning creatures.

    4. ooh, great marbling affect :aheartbea looks great! - the white eyes are a fab touch also :D

Lace Princess - paid mine off in Jan and still waiting (I ordered through a UK local seller).. and I known that others (I think through Mint on Card) are waiting upon those ordered in December ... >_>

With my Moment and Anson ... still aiming to do subtle edging of gold (on Anson) and silver (Moment) with powders and glossing the edges for affect ... will be a stand-in for when I get my head around what to really do ... and depending when they arrive also (weather wise) >_<'

    5. thanks every one ^^ it was a real challenge to get him done but in the end, it was worth it!

i haven't quite figure out what i'm going to do for the photoshoot - the new place we moved to doesn't have much light, but if i'm lucky today after work, i can get something figured out.

    6. Mori and I got adventurous and went outside and played in the magnolia tree. He's ridiculously fun to take pictures of.

    7. Looking good Nasa! Though, Mori could pose as a Magnolia blossum -but don't touch! He's poisonous!

    8. Does anyone who has a Moment happen to know if a Hid head will fit on the Moment body? I'd love a picture if it is not too much trouble.

    9. breezy: I believe when she gets her Moment and Hid head, tirsden will be able to provide a picture. :)

    10. I would definitely appreciate it. I had my heart sent on a Hid head on the new body, and there has been talk that the combo won't work. :(

    11. Hello again everyone! My Moment, Anson and Lulu finally arrived a few days ago and I'm thrilled with all three! :aheartbea Nothing was broken in transit and the glass eyes they came with are gorgeous! The only small annoyance is that my Anson is darker than my Moment, when they are both supposed to be white skin. But I think she is either from a different batch or she was already in stock and yellowed a bit over the 5 months I was waiting for them. But it's no biggie!
I assigned the thankless task of unstringing, cleaning, spraying with MSC and stringing them back together to my girlfriend yesterday. :sweat Now they are sitting in their full (blank) glory on our dresser.
I have another small issue: The magnets of the "ear" parts are very weak and the petals keep falling off. Has anyone of you guys tried to replace them with stronger magnets?

Here is a picture of all the unstrung parts:

    12. Well I haven't been here in a while but I am glad darkmothflame that you got back to him and re-did him. It was definitely worth the effort.

    13. me too ^^ i'm excited about them coming. and i actually got one of the lace bodied girls from angel egg to be aphelion's companion - i think she'll compliment him better than alberta ^^ though she's not expected to ship until september :sweat

    14. yaaaaay! congrats to the OT doll for this thread Darkmoth! i like the lace too! but shes out of my budget.

    15. my birthday was just a couple days ago (plus managing to sell some other dollies) so i was able to afford one ^^

it's horrible - but as it gets closer to the time that i'll have my anson/renata hybrid in hand... i realize i can't figure out a name for her.... but at the same time, i'm almost wondering if she'll really need one? i'm planning on going to the art store near where i live this weekend to pick up the paper to do the petals out of so i can get started once she arrives. i also got to see some sea dragons in person this past weekend so i'm now even more eager for my moon/anson hybrid.

    16. oooh!! sounds exciting! paper petals? cant wait to see what you have planned.

    17. lol, i don't know entirely myself :sweat but i've always wanted to decoupage a doll, though i plan on just doing a few scatted sakura blossoms and petals rather than covering her entirely in paper.... i think it'll be interesting when i have my three finished and together. (and dare i say it... but these super unique sculpts make me rethink the plain "human" dolls i own :sweat )

    18. LOL! decoupaging a doll would be fun. *Has tons of Mod Podge...Hmmm...*

    19. lol - it would be very time consuming and could possibly change the shape of joints with how thick sometimes the varnish gets.... that's why i'm going for as thin as possible japanese papers, won't have to build up so many layers then ^^
