1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

DollZone Moment and Anson discussion part 1

Oct 14, 2011

    1. You know, I don't even know myself how I managed it.:sweat I started on her as soon as she arrived (and I was one of the first to order her right after they were released) so there was a certain passion surrounding the newness of her, and I think that's what carried my momentum. I remember working on her about 4 hours a day for an entire month...and that she took 3 entire cans of MSC! And oh yes, doing detailed portraits on the inward curves of those petals...yikes! I still have nightmares about that one, but in the end it was all worth it. And my dear, your theme is utterly brilliant! I adore the uniqueness of it and how beautifully it's lent itself to patterning on those petals.:)

    3. :abow:

Hehe, yes. Pretty much any time I pull my flower out, that is what I'm doing for the day. Bravo to you for keeping it up for a month! Goodness! My wrist starts to give out on me after a few days, so that puts an upper cap on it all for me...

I did get one more petal/wing outlined on Friday.

      Thanks so much, gaiboiozz. ^_^
That shirt looks cute. The puffy sleeves really suit the petal arms.

    4. Lady Ravenswood - even if your progress is a little slow, I love seeing your updates! It looks fantastic.

I've started painting my own Anson - it's a very simple design compared to others here! I'm limited by having no skill in painting whatsoever haha :D But I think the Calla lily design suits her. I guess that's her name, Calla (I've never really named my dolls before but I'll make an exception for her.)

I've made a project journal for her here if anybody would like to follow along. ^^

    5. Damasquerade, that is a wonderful concept because those petals really do look like calla lilies. You've done a wonderful job of matching the perfect green for that look.:)

    6. She looks great, Damasquerade! ^__^
I also really like that you did the green all they way down as it makes it look like a continuous stem. The white veins are a lovely detail.

    7. Lady Ravenswood: I Can't Wait To See Him Finished. What Colors Are You Gana Do For Him?

Damasquerade: I Love The Idea, The Vains Looks So Amazing.

    8. You guys are all amazing! All the concepts are coming out so well!
I should get back to working on my boy...

    9. Oh boy, it's been a long time since I poked my head in here! Everyone's dolls are looking great!
Hopefully I will be able to grab some pictures of my girl pretty soon. She makes me nervous, so I rarely do anything with her...It's motivating when I see everyone else doing things with their flowers!
I'll try and grab some pictures of my girl later!

Lady Ravenswood - I really enjoy seing your progress. It is looking absolutely lovely!

Damasquerade - I think that is a great idea! The petals really do remind me of Calla Lilies now that you've said that!

Aernath - You have a Moment?? :love If I ever do decide to poke into any of the Wichita meets I'll have to bring my Anson (Wow, that will be a fun doll to bring to my first meet...Not.).

    10. Heh heh. If we can ever get our act together and set up a meet...! lol There's even another girl that comes to (what few) meets we have, that also has Moment and Anson (both still blank - it's so intimidating to do anything with these guys!). So between the three of us, we could have an amazing Flower Festival! ~__^ (Feel free to start a thread! We definitely need more people!)
I actually have both Moment and Anson. But Anson is just sitting quietly (blank and half naked) on the shelf, while Moment is in pieces. Well, his arms are. I finished his body and restrung it. I need to get back to working on his arms, and then his head. I'm definitely saving the head for last! :sweat

Here's a picture of my WIP before I strung this back together. The plan is for the petals and head to be colored, with the body in black and grey.

    11. Makes Me Feel Bad That I Don't Even Have A Concept For My Hana Shonen

    12. aernath That's such a cool concept and I can't wait to see how it comes together...certainly the artwork on his body is awesome! I love how everyone's concept for their flower dolls is so different, like each one is a special jewel from the garden.:)

And gaiboiozz, don't worry about having your Hana Shonen still blank. Heaven knows these are the most gorgeous sculpts ever and look stunning even blank...so no one minds seeing them in their natural, un-decorated state!;)

    13. Hear, hear! I have certainly thought seriously about leaving my Anson blank!

Thanks for the kind words! It definitely takes a lot of momentum to sit down and work on these guys!

    14. Aw, thank you so much for the encouragement everyone! :bcake
I feel sort of guilty about the flower children sometimes…since I work so slowly. But I suppose, if anything, BJDs are terribly patient. ^.^"

Blue, green, yellow, orange…bright colors for the outside of the petal/wings. ^_^

Hehe, those are true words! Your moment is looking really neat. I like the gray tones on the body, the colorful arms will be a nice contrast. Hang in there! ^_~

    15. Hello all! I am joining this group prematurely. I have a Moment lost in USPS neverland and it is frustrating me to no end.... He is my grail and I am so worried. They misdirected him, redirected and nothing new for two days. He should have been home by now, the USPS manager agrees. Well, justa waiting game now, I guess!

    16. Oh my i hope he arrives to you soon and safely

Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk

    17. Me too! thank you, Send me some Dolly Dust!! :vein USPS!

    18. Here's some Dolly Dust for you...can't wait to see him once he arrives. :) Thinking positively!

    19. :dance It seems your dust is working! He has arrived and departed Nashville heading toward my post office. as long as the brilliant folks at USPS don't misdirect him again, I might have him in my hands tomorrow!! Yay!!!

and, until I unwrap every single petal, this has been the longest almost two weeks of my life!

    20. Wow. 0_0 That would exhaust anyone! So glad he's heading the right direction again and should be home soon!

Well, I just got the first petal of the first arm done, and... I'm not sure how I feel about it. But... I'm committed now! lol
I wish I could find a red pastel that really shows up RED. Even on this white resin, it ends up more pink than red. :(
      Ah well. Anyway, progress picture:
