1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

DollZone Moment and Anson discussion part 1

Oct 14, 2011

    1. Looking good aernath!:) Yeah, red pastel on white gives you pink...however you can always give it a little spray of sealent and then build up more red layers until you get the color you want.

    2. Go, go gadget layering! ^_~
I agree, sometimes it just takes a lot of layers. Hehe.

    3. He's looking good!! also, you could try a watered down acrylic wash. I have seen that done, then pastels and pearl-ex over that to soften it.

And,:o, my boy is out for delivery!!! OMG!! I am not home, and I hope my hubby can either intercept the mail lady or pick him up at 3;45. I have work till 5, then night class till about ten and I am so itching to go get my boy!

    4. Well... "Onions have layers. Ogres have layers." I suspect that's what I'll have to do. :sweat I'm terrrrrible with paint, so will save myself some heartbreak and not even try. heh

YAY! He's allllmost there! This is going to be the longest day for you though! Hang in there! Just remember, you waited forever for him, now he can wait quietly a little bit for YOU! ;)

    5. whooohooo! He arrived without any problems! She restrung him with thicker cord, so I will have to work with that (I am a wimp!). Oh he poses and stands so well with it!! I hope to begin his blushing this weekend. I am thinking about a red and yello calla lily theme, or some type of tulip....

    6. Yay I'm glad he arrived show photos!

    7. Ooooo! Can't wait to see your lovely flower bloom! SO glad he arrived without any damages! The longer a doll is in transit, the more nervous I become.

And thanks guys, for the tip on layering! I did just one more layer and it really helped already! I think I will do another layer and call it good. ^__^

    8. Hooray for his safe arrival! That's so awesome. I can't wait to see what you do with him...I'm really looking forward to that. :)

And aernath, I'm so glad the layering is working. That's wonderful news!

Felt inspired to take some shots of my Anson, of which this was my favorite. ^_^

    10. Oooo, I like seeing these sculpts with hands!

    11. Logodae, this is a beautiful photo and illustrates so perfectly the beauty of this amazing sculpt. Even unadorned, the artistic awesomeness of this sculpt is evident. They are one of the few sculpts out there that show as beautifully in their natural state as they do fully decorated.:)

    12. Aw, she looks so pretty amid the moss.
      Hm, sometimes I wish I didn't live in a desert…oh well!

    13. Logodae I love your Anson having arms. I think I may do that. I have Anson with all human arms, no petals at all because she came like that by mistake. They eventually did send the petals arms but I got lazy and and scared to change them plus I never got around to painting the petal arms after doing the head and body. It is a huge amount of work and time. My girl has a nice manicure and pedicure and I like her human arms. When I ordered her I did order just hands thinking that would look good but the human arms are really nice too. I should get those petal arms painted before I forget what I did. Now that I think of all this, where did I put those petal arms. I put them somewhere safe and now I don't know. Darn. I have my sewing room full of sewing stuff and some dolls, the office has most of my resin dolls and the basement is full of the boxes all my other dolls came in. I have 7 cabinets full of dolls plus some dolls sitting out in chairs. A little too much I think. I have been collecting for many years as I collect antique, vintage, some modern etc, as well. It is a sickness. When I first saw resin dolls I thought they were weird and who would collect them. Now I have over 30. So that is why I don't know where those arms are right now. I got this doll for the arms so I should have them on her.

    14. ooooohh, beautiful in the woods!!

finally, I got a quick shot of him, he is about to be disassembled to be painted!

    15. Such an amazing sculpt! I'm always thrilled to see a new Moment getting ready to be styled. Can't wait to see what you come up with.:)

    16. Yay! Another flower getting ready to bloom! ^__^ They look so good against the dark backgrounds when they're all white. Always looks nice.

    17. So, I got a wild painting hair this weekend. I am awfully happy with how he is turning out! My inspiration is a red and yellow ruffled tulip.

Sorry, crappy cell phone pic in crappy lighting is crappy! He looks really bright in this pic, but it is more muted. I have also used copper red and gold Pearlex to add shine and further muting.

I need to do a few coats of sealer. I am thinking about using the ModPodge trick that (Damasquerade??- sorry if I got it wrong!) is working on right now, as the airbrush tends to chip on the edges.

    18. Wow Alicat! That's so gorgeous! What a fabulous take on this sculpt. Your Moment looks...well, momentous!:XD:

    19. That looks really nice Alicat. Very nicely done with the vein thing. What will you do for his face? That picture looks really good for a cellphone. Photos on cell phones have come a long way. Not like a few years ago. I am curious, can you post direct from your cell phone or do you have to save to Flickr and then post. I don't post a lot of pictures because of the Flickr thing. Takes too long with camera, saving to computer, posting to Flickr and then posting here.

    20. I have the Flickr App, so I upload it to there, then share via a desktop. Still a pain, but eh. I have downloaded Tapatalk, but I am clueless on it!

I messed a bit with his Faceup, but I am not 100% sure on it... I just, feel he should have no hair, hence no eyebrows, soooo...
