1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

DollZone Moment and Anson discussion part 1

Oct 14, 2011

    1. lol, if you don't like waiting never get a soom or dollshe! soom has a 100 (business) day guarantee for a reason - it takes that long sometimes ;)

and dollshe averages 9 months to a year or more in wait times....

i've had a number of long waits where i'm used to it - but i do get frustrated at times too! (i think the worst was the last time i was waiting for a doll from narin.... because for a long time it looked like i would never get the doll)

i think with anson and moment, dollzone is taking their time to make sure the dolls are perfect so it's going to take longer than normal human dollzones. but are totally worth it!

    2. Bohemia Rose is finally done! And I discovered a positive to all that hard work on her petals...I was so familiar with them by the time I was done, it took me less than 5 minutes to string both petal arms, install her eyes and attach her head. Here's a photo and a link to her gallery posting with more photos, an explanation of her character, and why I did what I did as far as the artwork is concerned.;)

    3. OMG PoeticSoul! She is incredible - you have completely outdone yourself (and set the bar high, wow!) Off to drool some more :fangirl:

    4. Yeah, I have absolutely no need to post pictures of my Moment, if and when I get him done. I bow out to your greatness with your Anson poeticsoul. Darkmouthflame has also done a great job with the marbeling effect on Moment.

I still look forward to seeing what you do with your Anson Candygears.

    5. PoeticSoul I already drooled on your gallery post, but I have to say it again- your girl is just amazing!

After looking through this thread a bit, I think it's fair to say that Moment & Anson are the most creatively inspiring bjds made so far.

    6. Absolutely everything about your Anson is amazing. She took my breath away.

    7. PoeticSoul: Now that was worth waiting to see. She's a stunner

Shashy: I ordered mine from DDEin october and didn't receive her until January. Even those who ordered non-layaway the dolls didn't start arriving until late December. So it's not that bad a wait she is worth it.

    8. Huh I thought that the Dollzone Anson wait was really short. After I finished my layaway it was only a few months. I wasn't counting the time, and was pleasantly surprised. But she arrived with chipped petals, which is why I assume these dolls are getting discontinued.

For Dollshe, I waited over a year. For Soom, the original wait times were like over 6 to 9 months. I was OK initially but towards the ends I was getting pretty peeved. Some people can't bond when their dolls finally arrive because they get so worked up. Long waits are part of the hobby.

    9. Holy crap, Poetic, you are absolutely ridiculous :D Bohemia Rose just entered my top 5 of favorite dolls. She is downright stunning and you are just amazing O.o

    10. PoeticSoul -I can not compete! AWESOME!!!!!:o

    11. *jaw drop* wow - poeticsoul! she blows every one else out of the water! that is real dedication and talent to do such beautiful artwork without overshadowing the original piece - i agree with every one else, you've set the bar way to high for any one else to compete with! :abow:

    12. Oh my goodness, I am so humbled and honored by everyone's lovely comments on my Bohemia Rose, especially since I'm such a huge fan of so many of your dolls and creativity. I had no idea people would "get" what I was trying to do and understand my choices here. That's why I didn't post "in progress" photos...I thought if people saw it in bits and pieces, they'd think I'd completely lost my mind!:sweat The entire idea surrounding my Anson was to be able to do extensive artwork on her without having her future costumes (which I love to make) covering it up. When I saw Anson, I knew she was the perfect candidate because of those gi-normous petals.:) And instead of her having a backstory, I wanted her to be the story itself which is why her artwork is so extensive...all done in faded shades of gray in an effort not to overpower Dollzone's incredible sculpt. (Side note to self: NEVER again do artwork on curved surfaces...especially inner curves!!! Whoa!):doh

    13. Wow PoeticSoul she is gorgeous! Truly awesome and amazing :fangirl:. I would so love to see more of a close-up of the artwork on those petals, they are amazingly done and seem to tell a story each. What a stunning girl you have made!

    14. Well, I just can't stop staring at her. And you know, a little crazy often pays off in a lot of good ways ^^
You've really inspired me. I had been rather lost after all my blushing, but now I feel like drawing patterns on Moment's head petals.
Oh and today I got one of his man arms, he looks a bit more proportionate now xD It also shows how yellowed my Marcia is X___x I can't wait to get his other arm and start painting.

    15. I have to say, Poeticsouls's Anson is making me feel kind of inadequate for my plans of Anson. Hers is so good I actually thought she might have got pictures and pasted them on the arms. Yes, I know I am crazy but that is what I actually thought at first. They are so good. But she has confirmed she did the drawings. I think it will be pretty hard to top this one and I loved the Marble Moment too. He was very different but magnificent as well. Also Poetic soul, no one mentioned the clothes you made. I loved them. I think those might have been antique fabrics possibly. Anyways they go with the painting so well. It did give me an idea. I had thought I would use only white fabric for my Anson (When she finally comes) and but now maybe I could use coloured fabric. This looked so good. My girl won`t have drawings because I can`t do that but she will be blushed and I will try to make her face more painted like this one. I could do that. Please post more pictures.

    16. well i just ordered more sealer so as soon as it's here i can finish aphelion! yay! i'm anxious to see him together..... especially as i have two other full doll blushing projects i need to get under way (and with both of them being soom super gems, it's going to take awhile on those.... )

    17. Hi everyone! I actually ordered a blank white skin Anson from DDE on the last day possible and just recently joined DoA.
She will be my very first BJD and I think I might be crazy for being so ambitious on my very first project. :sweat
Fortunately I ordered the free 1/4 head (Shoyo) with her so I can practice a little before hand, and a pair of human arms so if everything really goes wrong on the fantasy blushing I can still have a normal human doll C:
I knew I wanted a BJD for a couple years now and when I saw Anson I totally fell in love with this sculpt and being discontinued I knew it was now or never to order so I might as well go for it.
The only thing i regret is not having enough money for the fullset, only because I LOVE the dress she comes with. :(

    18. Welcome to the hobby, DoA and this thread a11i! You certainly did choose an ambitious doll for your very first, but you also chose something that is truly amazing. Why not go for it? Let's face it, this sculpt is so gorgeous, even if you just stand her up blank, she'll take your breath away. Sounds like the perfect choice to me.;) And you're lucky you were able to get her in the nick of time...I feel sad for those who were unable to do so. It certainly sounds like you've really thought it through and ordered extras to help you obtain the doll of your dreams no matter what.:) Hooray for more Ansons and Moments!

    19. Welcome a11i, Yes, I agree with everything PoeticSoul said. I will just add that you might be able to find her dress secondhand in the marketplace when you get access to it. You can always put up a want to buy.
PoeticSoul, your doll has left me speachless for days. I don't even know how to express how blown away I am by your artistry, other than to say BRAVISSIMO!!!!
Well. I can offically join the fun! My awesome BF ordered both Anson and Moment from DDE for Valentines Day. They are on layaway for a while, but I am happy to wait as long as it takes for such a wonderful pair of flowers. Best Valentines Bouquet ever!!!!!

    20. Lace Princess, you're so very sweet...thank you. (blushes) And as for your BF...both Anson and Moment?:o Wow! That's going to be the best floral bouquet ever...huge props to him for totally rocking Valentines Day!
