1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

DollZone new Chen and Hong

Sep 19, 2008

    1. I have to admit that I'm uncertain of the fit of SD13 clothes for the 72cm body. My Hong's clothes are usually hand-made. He's definitely skinnier than the old DZ 70's, with longer arms and legs. And strangely, he can get into more shoes than his old 70 friend. *snerk* Someone sold me a pair of jeans that they swore would fit a DZ, they used a DZ model for the pattern, etc. Well, if all that's true, then the 72cm is downright scrawny because those jeans are always close to falling off Orrien. :P And I bought a nice shirt from Mimiwoo in which the sleeves and torso aren't quite long enough.

Now, when I shop for clothes I only buy when the vendor specifically says something is made for 70's, like Dollmore's Model-size clothes or Luts' Super Senior Delf-size. They could still be a bit baggy, but it's easier to take that in than try to lengthen something. :P

IMO, 16mm eyes are the best for these guys, even if DZ says they can take 18mm as well. Chen's eyes are much more open than Hong's, but I still think 18mm would be rather large with that sculpt. I guess it ultimately depends on personal taste. And yes, 8/9 wigs work well. Orrien's head is actually a little slimmer in circumference than my 60's, althou it makes up for it in length of face. So 8/9 wigs work much better than the 9/10's.

      Hope this helps! :)

    2. oooohhh infos <3

I am working on the first deposit currently for the 72cm DZ body (almost done! A few cleared checks and the body is half paid for!) who will oddly enough, eventually be paired with a chen head as well. Yay for first-doll-ness.
      Whoo! Chen fans! *cricket cricket*

Right then. I'm not too worried about the clothes as I'll be making my own outfits, but it is nice to know that some store-bought might fit, just in case. I assumed the size was totally irregular, haha. The wig I'm not worried about yet- mostly just the eyes and shoes.

Shoe-wise, I've gotten crazy advice on what would fit the 72cm body. Any advice? I'm going to be going for the simpler, less expensive dollzone shoes if I can, no chains, bells or whistles, (reddish boots, black boots, black shoes).

Also, for the eyes, I keep on seeing people talk about sizing down or up based on the look they want to get for the doll. As I'm going for more mature look, I was THINKING about sizing down to 14mm, but i'm worried acrylics will gap, ect. Any idea if I should just go with the standard, or what?

Ug, the wait is terrible, but the window-shopping, as Maleficently said, is fun <3
