1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Dolpa Kyoto3 : after event !

Mar 29, 2005

    1. If you got an email like this: ""Volks Web Site Purchase Procedure Completion Notice/Order Number:ST00000179261812E4C8" you're good to go. Volks doesn't send a payment confirmation (although they might if your credit card was rejected.) Last time I ordered from them I got this notice, and I believe I also got an email when the doll was sent. There was no separate 'receipt of payment' email (and actually they waited more than a week and a half to charge my card. It was weird.)

If you didn't get the Completion Notice email, you should email them with your order number just to confirm.

    2. Well, my bank account shows that the amount for Kurenai is on hold, and the order is in my order history on the website. I just haven't gotten an order confirmation via email. I can't find the email address to send volks an email requesting confirmation, either. I tried the "Inquiry" link, and got a 404 error.

    3. Volks waits 3 days *that's the time alloted for you to cancel if you so chose*, sends you another email to thank you for your order, THEN sends shipping information in another email. Understand the emails might take several days in between each other.

    4. Really? Didn't know they gave you three days to cancel. That's kind of nice.

(OT, but I just noticed that Wells Fargo has "temporarily blocked" my credit card o.O; I transfered cash onto it twice (once to pay off my existing balance and once to cover part of the upcoming cost of Kurenai) I guess they don't like that? Ugh. I wonder if they'll refuse Volk's charge now. I *should* just go cancel my Volks order. My doll karma isn't very good right now. >.< )

    5. gah.... noooo don't cancel kurenai :( you were one of the lucky few dearie

    6. You shouldn't cancel your order just because of that. A lot of CC companies will hold off on the transaction until they can get ahold of you and confirm it. Just call them up and tell them to let the payment go through.

    7. Woo-hoo! Just checked my email and found an email from Volks, confirming my order.

      They also said the following:

Wow, I had expected a few weeks or so, but a few DAYS? O_O I'm wondering if that's there because it's a form letter and that's how long it takes for normal orders, or if that's actually true for the Kyoto Dolpa 3 orders.

Woo-hoo! Maybe I'll get both of my "waiting for" dolls before my surgery!

    8. *sigh* I know. They didn't call me, though (but now I'm thinking they still have my old phone number on file. I should call the 1-800 number and see if it's 24 hours.)

Volks has emailed with the "no more cancelations" notification, so I guess that solves my angsty decision making. Now I just have to worry about getting my CC declined before I can get through to have the transaction okay'ed!

I'm not superstitious, but I'm a believer in doll-karma, and this doll has caused me a lot of stress. (Unlike getting Jun, which was a great experience and almost angst-free.) Assuming my card goes through, I hope my frustration with this whole ordeal doesn't "taint" my ability to grow fond of her (especially since she was a semi-whim purchase, rather than an OMG I MUST HAVE RIGHT THIS SECOND... but then, I've *never* felt that way on first glance, even with my absolute favorite, will-never-part with doll. I really have to grow into them, so it's always hard to judge based on a few photos.)

At aaaany rate, I suppose if she and I weren't meant to be that'll give someone who missed out the chance to get her (since I wouldn't be scalping her >.>; ) Time to go fuss with my CC...

    9. Actually I think the "few days" is accurate, as they tend not to send out the confirmation email until the order is ready to ship, and once it's in the mail EMS is pretty fast (if you order standards through the webpage it usually takes a little longer to get that email). They haven't charged my card yet, although I got the same email, and I can't get the hold off until tomorrow AM (which means a full business day in Japan). Ugh. This is a whole mess o' fish.

I think the Dollpa dolls ship faster because they're all ready to go when the ordering is opened, so all they have to do is box them up and ship them. The standard website orders take longer, I assume because they don't have stacks and stacks of Megus waiting to be shipped.

Just curious -- how many of us ordered Kurenai? 3? Or more?

    10. "A few days" would be nice. I'm hoping that's what they really meant (and not just shipping within a few days). EMS usually takes 2-3 days for me on average and I'm thinking that for $100 shipping the thing had BETTER get here in a short-short period of time! I didn't order sato-gaeri so ... *keeps fingers crossed for doll arrival within the next week or two*

And here's to hoping that all the dolls show up nice and safe and without broken fingers! My post office has a tendency to mangle our mail--hopefully there'll be a big "FRAGILE" or something on the box and they'll, uh ... PAY ATTENTION to it. ><

    11. If its the same person who shipped out my stuff, watch out for a "FRAGILE" and then a "PLEASE DO NOT OPEN BOX WITH SHARP KNIFE" on it XD~!

the thing is... unless u use something sharp, there's no way you can get thru all those tape ! *laughs*

      rhii
      *lazy to log in*

    12. Just from reading this thread (don't know about others) ... just you and me. I think one or two people were able to get Cyndy.

I'm guessing maybe a couple others from the boards may have been able to get her, but haven't posted about it here.

So ... we should be hearing about them being shipped out by the end of this week? That would be nice ... I'm so used to waiting 2-3 months for my dolls.

I got my first doll within a week, though, but that of course was a Volks Dollfie Dream.

    13. I think it's best to use jello to open my boxes, frankly!

      :chibi

    14. Oh yes jello works wonders. Smear enough on the outer box and the inner box will just slip right out! No utility knives needed! XD

    15. jello?? What am I missing here? You still have to cut the box open, and I've never had a problem getting the doll box out of the cardboard carton. Where does the jello figure in? (honestly confused @_@)

    16. we were joking... they say not to use a sharp object, so I was joking that you should use jello to open the box, since jello isn't sharp. Obviously that's ludicrous though, jello would never open a box and you must you some sort of sharp object to cut the tape.

    17. We were just kidding. XD;
The label says not to open box with a sharp knife, and jello is about as dull as dull can get so... yeah jello = excellent box opening tool according to the label. XD

    18. jello might work if you mix some goo-be-gone in with it, lol ... just melt the tape off!

    19. Oh, I am either dense or humor doesn't always translate reliably to print. I'd like to think it's the latter, but it's probably the former  I will try the jello method with my next doll box, though. I'll let you know how it goes.

(at any rate, I don't use a sharp object at all -- I peel the corner of the tape and rip it off.)
