Domuya Secret Project Nightmare Discussion

Looks like sales of Nightmare are finally closed as well. All of us who didn't have the nerve to get him can finally breathe a sigh of relief that the temptation is finally removed

 

A few quick pictures for size comparison, beside and being ridden by a Soom Chalco with fantasy parts (nearest doll to hand lol). Bear in mind that fantsy parts mean that he's taller than average SD size and his legs sit a bit weirdly!

 

My Nightmare arrived yesterday. It's gorgeous, but the packaging was completely inadequate. There are several pieces of the armour that have simply snapped off during transit. I'll be contacting Domuya today about the issue. The horse stands like a rock, though. And the armour is beautiful. The eyes are way too small, you can even see the putty. And the neck needs to be hot glue sueded, because right now positioning it is a pain and a half.

Ack, me wants! Yea, real horse eyes barely show any white at all. Those who get new eyes should take pics and let us know the mm.

Mine arrived (the mailman was very happy I was home at the time, lol), and is freaking amazing. He does have some broken armor and chains, but Domuya got back to me asap too about casting / sending replacements. =^i^=

I since put some 20mm black and orange eyes in him, and they look soooo much better. I'll update with pics later today. Was anyone else expecting a stand too, or did I read that wrong?

 

Domuya hasn't answered me. Time for a new message, I think.

And yeah, I thought a stand was included, but went to check the Companion page and no, it's not mentioned there.

 

The stand might be partially due to me. I asked Domuya when I saw the rearing pose if a stand was included and they said yes, but it was never official on the webpage. Guessing it just never went through.

 

Is there no box opening of that beautiful horse?? :-D

Orange eyeballs! They're 20mm, so I think I need to get him 22mm ones if I can find them. =^i^=

 

Wow, takysa, those 20mm orange eyes look great in him. Were they hard to swap out?

 

Thanks! Nope, they were really easy. They're held by a thin strip of tack around the outside of the eye, which is making me think that the sockets couldn't take much larger than those anyway.

 

You might take a look at dreamingtreestudio on etsy. She makes resin eyes and you can choose from tons of colors and pupils and what not. They are very flat though on the off side - maybe a benefit for a small socket? I liked the ones I bought from her - and they are cheap!

I wonder if taxidermy eyes would work? There are some that are mostly iris/pupil with little or no 'white' showing.

I actually just ordered some taxidermy eyes for my Nightmare so I will post pics when she arrives.

 

Lawl! I put Nandris on Obsidian when I had the armor on him... alas, it was too much for Obby's poor knees to handle at that point in time :P

 

takysa,omg, i hope everyone is alright. Though looking at Nandris position here ..well..lol~ ^_^ My horse will arrive next week, have plans for my dollfie dream to sit on him. Again , i hope both guys are alright !
