RE: tightness of stringing. I bought Vo back in March. Play with him all the time...hoo boy is he super loose now. So just FYI you'll prolly have to restring your boy at some time if you play with them lots (which was ok..he needed a bath desperately...I washed him and literally he turned shades lighter on his body). Anyhoo I took something like an inch off the string and he's much nicer now XD

 

Well I e-mailed DoD and I don't know if they got back to me yet. It's only that more people that know nothing about BJDs are wanting him here more than I do.

Plus my order status only says payment recieved.

I was starting to get worried because they say that Duncan takes five weeks to ship after payment. I only wanted to know if it's normal to make us wait so long. *pouts* They really should offer us free goodies since we "try" to be patient waiting for their dolls. I'm just about ready to fly off the walls because he's my first boy.

I still have to buy some stuff to finish his jeans that I'm making. Plus there's his slutty housecoat that I've started on...

Now I'm wondering how long the Dollmore order I'll be putting in for him will ship. The Dollmore order of $180 CAD is a combined Christmas and 2-year anniversary present from my boyfriend. Only because I spent $180 on him to get his Great Knarlocs for his Warhammer army. However I don't get the money for the Dollmore order until the 15th, which it then has to take a week to go into paypal.

 

It's different from company to company. In normal times DoD ships out in abut 5 weeks. At the moment with so much going on and the X'mas rush I think people are looking at 7 weeks. (however this is nothing on the 4 month wait going on for my Volks FCS T-T so sad). Tensiya also takes a few months.

Dollmore I find is very fast and for canadians they seem to ship and come through without any customs fees XD If you pay on the 15th it'll likely come in early Jan (just due to the amount of packages that come through during X'mas season though with EMS it could be within a week or two...who knows)

 

Well my boyfriend willing be giving me the money to put into paypal on the 15th because he always seems to need more money than me. I'm spoiling him lots buy buying him stuff and I still need to buy Christmas presents.

Then of course paypal takes a week to put it into my account from my bank. Then I can pay for my Dollmore order. I just hope the stuff I picked out is still in stock when I pay.

 

^^ I'm pretty sure Dollmore takes eCheck....but you can always ask I usually just use Credit Card cause I'm lazy that way XD

 

Well I only have the paypal. Credit Card I am considering on eventually getting, however I'm going only use it rarely. I don't trust myself it because then I'd just go shopping crazy.

 

I just got my Ducan today and I have to say that I'm not that impressed. His wig is too loose (which I can fix with a little velcro, so that's not really a problem) and his pants are so tight that he can't sit down! If I want him to sit, I have so pull his pants below his hips, so he has so sit with his butt hanging out TTATT When he's standing, the little button in the back can't snap closed either! Ugh, I think I'll just save up for another outfit since this one is too troublesome D:

 

button on the back? I think the snap is supposed to be on front. If the pants are on backwards that might be the problem. The pants though are -super- tight....you may have to stretch them out first....

 

Yes, I tried putting it on the other way but it still wouldn't snap shut. I'm leaving the button in the back since it would look twice as bad right now if it's in the front. I'm in the process of stretching them out but it's taking forever to do! Ugh, hopefully I'll have it fixed by tomorrow, but right now I'm not feeling that it was worth the money and 5 week wait.

 

I have to agree that the Homme Ducan outfit had more than a few problems with it which is disappointing, because DoD clothes normally are fabulous. But I hope you like his sculpt enough to bond to your boy anyway--Ducan (in both of his forms) is the hawtness

 

I didn't spend the extra money on clothes for my Duncan. He's awfully cute anyway. I am thinking that my boy is a bit loose. The only pose he'll hold the best is sitting up straight, legs at a 90 degree angel, and arms crossed.

 

I got the outfit, took one look at it, and sold it off. Same with the wig and eyes. XD I never even looked at Dorian with the blue eyes in, as soon as he was out of the bubble wrap, he had the blue eyes taken out and his soom eyes put in.

 

If the legs and arms are snapping into those positions then the string is probably tight. I wouldn't say too tight, but it may take a few days to a week of play to get him loosened up a bit, or you could always unstring him and put the string around a chair or something to stretch for a few hours or overnight- that's what I did when I first got my camine.

 

I don't know he flops around quite a bit. He ejoys fighting with me on positions. Maybe he is tight, just gotta mess with him.

Granted James doesn't like me right now since everything is my fault according to him. So that could also explain why he won't pose for me.

 

I had the exact same issues with the clothes and wig, Sagi. His wig keeps falling off and his legs jsut don't bend correctly in the pants. They're so tight, and I can't get the button to snap either. I may sell the outfit.

 

I had problems with his pants and belts too. It took me half an hour to get him dressed.

 

Weird. I had no problem with mine. The pants too although tight and sits low, he could still bend, kneel and sit in them. I like the pants =P

I think he's a doll that requires styling. Without the right clothes and hair, he's not going to look too impressive.

 

I didn't much care for the default clothing. I tried it on once and sold it off. Kept the wig though for my Sha. It's a touch big but he's already got velcro so the wig stays just fine.

 

So, the wig and the outfit are not worth the money ? >-< And I was so happy to be able to get an DOD Outfit with him

 

The snap is in the front.
I didn't have any trouble with the outfit I got. If the waist is too tight just move the snap a bit. Everything fit nicely for my doll....I'm sorry you didn't get the outfit I got. I don't use it, but I guess it's here to stay.

As for the wig, well the other DOD wigs for his size fit like a dream.

I think I'd use the moleskin, though. I have that on all my dolls' heads and that works like a charm....and doesn't wreck the wigs.

None of the dolls are perfect when they come. My Volks SD16 Yugi's boots were huge....but, then all of the boots for that doll were that way. My Toyha's outfit has frog closures and I mean to tell you they are tough to close. My Unoss's wig was huge....imho and her outfit wasn't quite what I expected. I could go on....

Point being all the dolls have issues of one sort or another. They are, after all, a work in progress.....or that's how I see them...^^
