DoT Homme Ducan Discussion

So yeah, I'm finally on my way to Ducan-ownership but I would like to ask Ducan owners whose Ducans have DoD makeup in Light Brown (or Pink, Peach, Orange XD because I've seen Brown and Default) I'm actually fretting over the makeup...

 

Omg the photo's in this topic are sooo cool! I'm waiting for my Ducan for 5 weeks now... He needs to be send out... He will be a boyfriend for my (Volks) Isao! I hope they will become good friends!!!

The sticky lips stuff does scare me a little... Whuhh! I hope mine will be okay...

 

Barring the sticky-lip thing (which has never happened on one of my DoD dolls) and the Notorious Black Shall Incident (where they had a non-faceup artist do several dolls), DoD's makeup is both consistent and beautiful. If you're familiar with Luts, this is a very similar level of quality and result. All of my dolls were even prettier in person than in the pictures. Let us know when your babies arrive, but I'm pretty sure you're going to be very, very pleased.

 

Ugh, man, I've been loving ducan ever since I saw the homme version. I'm afraid that my camine will look too similar though since DoD said that ducan was just the tender version of camine...

If anyone has both, do you think they look different enough? :3 I'm thinking that ducan could be my camine's older brother (which would work since they look alike) or another character all together...

 

If you get H.Ducan with his default makeup, he'll definitely not look like the same doll, but he will look "related" which is perfect for what you're looking for. Actually, if you get your H.Ducan with any of DoD's standard faceups *except* Camine's you'll be fine. If you get Camine's standard faceup on your boy, they will look very similar.

Hmmm, I think they do look a little alike, but the make-up doesn't look so much alike... So that will make them look like very different persons, and if they will have their own clothing and stuff! ^^

I do want a camine head for my Ducan some time, but it's all what you make of it yourself I think!

OMG!! You can do that?? That's what I was hoping for!!!!! Do you have to email them for something like that??

 

If you already ordered him, e-mail them and ask. They will do all of their defult makeup on their other dolls, but you have to catch it in time (before they get started), and they're not very organized at all. So e-mail now. And e-mail again tomorrow. And keep e-mailing until you get a response. If you haven't ordered him yet, you're in luck--just select the closest colors to what you want in their drop-down, and then use the comments portion on their checkout page to specify that you want the makeup to look like Camine's default. Use short sentences. May I recommend "Please paint face like Camine default."? Good luck!

 

If I were to get a DoD it would definately be Ducan. What color eyes did yours come with on arrival?

 

Mine came with blue

 

And you wonder why it takes them so long to reply to emails.

Do not spam their inbox, it does not help them, you or the other people waiting for a reply. Send one, if you don't hear back in a week, send a fax or another email to their alternate address.

Homme Ducan as far as I know, always comes with the default blue acrylics.

 

I'd love to be that polite with DoD, but I've had them ignore emails for several weeks at a time, and only respond to me when it was "too late" to do anything about it. I know everyone has a different style to deal with being ignored. Mine is to pester I'm afraid you won't change my mind about how to handle DoD after past experiences I do agree that each person should do what they feel comfortable with within the realm of courtesy.

 

I don't think pestering them will get to your email any faster, especially if everyone thinks like you and sends them multiple emails. Perhaps you should look into faxing them, they reply very quickly to those.

 

Okay. :3 I've seen pictures of a camine and ducan side by side and they do look quite different (my camine has the peach camine make up in case you wanted to know) but I was just wondering if they looked too alike in real life. Hopefully I can see one eventually... I would love to get another DoT. x3

 

I'm a terrible judge because I likely have the only "tender" H.Ducan in existence. For some reason, when they sent me mine, his eyes are almost entirely closed:


I have no idea how it happened, and though I was distressed about it at first, I've come to like it very much. Friends who see him want to know where I got him or if I did the mod work myself, but the truth is that he came that way from DoD. Anyway, the long and short of it is that because he has very closed eyes, he looks pretty different from Camine.

 

Omg!! He looks so different. Did you ask them what happend? It's nice but it isn't really what you orderd... I'm happy you really like him, but I would be upset about it to...
Did you do the face up yourself? Because it also looks a bit different? I like it. But it does not really look a lot like the Ducans I've seen so far..

Wow... I think that DoD should really consider a "tender" H Ducan, just because that boy is soooo gorgeous

 

if mail isn't working then try fax if it's really time sensitive. I usually don't have a problem depending on if I use the webform or one of the email addys they use.

I'm new to this and see that DOD are constantly out of stock of clothing and shoes.
