Tokiko - if you desperately want the freebies then it will have to be the site I'm afraid. I didn't get them thru the ebay sale but I did get a nice doll stand. Alasandalack - Love your girl! she looks good with that face up. - and SO sympathise with the thoughts of restringing- scares me silly but I know I'll have to do it sometime... Re the wigs? I just got a wig cap thing that you shove over the dolls head. Its sorta 'icky' to use but it lines the wig with a rubbery sort of stuff that means the wig doesnt slip I can now turn her upside down and shake her and her wig stays put!
thanks, sue! regarding wigs, there's also velcro- the kind that's tacky on one side. glue one side to the doll's head, the other to the wig; it peels off if necessary without damaging the resin, and holds the wig on really well. i use it on all my dolls.
Wow, they look really good together! And they look like they're pretty much in scale (though it could just be the angle). Might you happen to have a picture of them standing next to each other? TIA ~
The current ebay listing includes the freebies, so I'll probably end up getting her there (since I managed to get the shipping quote myself, albeit after nearly giving myself a heart attack ). I checked out the thread you mentioned, and it seems like the affected people tend to be those who ordered through the Laidoll site. I think I'd feel safer buying her off ebay just because of the public feedback thing. Thanks for all your support! I'll get my girl yet!
well... I ordered Lily.:3 and now the wait begins! So now I have to start sewing her wardrobe. Are there any basic patterns out there that are suitable for her? And are there also sword-holding hands that I can get for her? Thank you all again for helping me make this momentous decision!
OOOH!!!! Wonderful news! <settles in to wait with Tokiko - hands over tea and choc>> can't wait to see what you do with your girl. I havent found any patterns yet but I did get a book that Doll Mage on here produced. (I will find you the thread later) not tried any yet but they look like should fit, and can probably be adapted. If you can find any in local shops the Teen Trends dolls by Mattel clothes fit well, Kefri's jeans and pink tee shirt are from Teen Trends Kianna, Kianna's boots fit but they are a pain to get off (I've told Kefri no more boots till I"ve made her some socks) Good luck ((hugs Tokiko))
Mine borrowed some things from Vale...she's wearing Dollmore clothes...the pants are big but the shirt holds them in place.
How did you get the boots to fit?! I've tried to get them on Kiera, but it's like herding cats. And congrats on your girl, Tokiko! I can't wait to see what you do with her.
LOL I know!! I managed to get them on by loosening the laces right up and then really stretching them - they look great on but they are tight and a nightmare to get off without socks to support the foot. Here is a pic of Kef before her face up in Kiera's gear, boots, jeans, t shirt and jacket. and here she is again in the TT party dress, in a silly shot I did for Abbymore (on here) who was bidding on a doll on ebay so we had an online Ebay party!! (as you do - or is it just us?) anyhow the dolls got dressed and various silly pix ensued. She'll kill me for posting these..... I need to get some more pix as I've changed her eyes and I'd appreciate comments, I'm not sure about them. Will try and take some tomorrow.
The picture is great! I think I'll try the shoes again, I was just so worried that I'd snap her foot off when trying to take off the boots. It's nice to know it can be done!
It can if you are very very careful which I know you will be. Work the laces really loose - or even better right out before removing the boot. Good luck.
Ukyou has a new kimono now. Now she just needs her intended wig. Slowly she will become more like I want her to be.
Sue-Love those jeans! Se-chan-Her kimono is just so beautiful! I agree the colors are really nice for her skintone! What other shoes fit Lily? My girl is currently barefoot
the legs aren't short, and i look at her skinny body as kind of a young tomboy type of body. not everybody is built the same, and neither are dolls. and not every doll can appeal to everybody in the same way.
