Dream Doll 'Lily' from Laidoll - Anyone Recognise Her?

I ordered the dolls back in March, its now June. So, I've been waiting for three months with no contact within the last month and half. I have been following the issues surrounding laidoll, and I do understand their problems, but they could've found some way to contact all their customers individually regarding their orders. I just hope that they arrive before the end of June. Kaga and I have been waiting patiently, but this has just been carrying on for too long.

 

My Lily arrived today. I bought her Saturday and she Is here on Wednesday!

After everything I read here I was prepared for a really long wait. Her make up is even worse than it looked in the pictures. I will be looking for a face up artist.

I will reserve pictures till I see how she photographs. At least the painters are done with my patio so I can get natural light tomorrow.

Hugs Yanabi...aw that sucks, have another go at them, maybe put out a call for Change on here in case she can do anything? I hope you get your dolls soon. Waiting is bad enough without all that happening too.

I have good news, I have ordered an Angel of Doll boy bod and a ruth head to be Kefri's foster sibling, she's less than happy but I'l hoping she'll come round. I have new clothes to show you and I need to take the pix of the wigs I promised I would ages ago.

I"ll try and do that asap.

 

Does the current http://www.laidoll.com/ work for anyone? I cannot get the dolls to show no matter what I select.

I can go directly to http://store.laidoll.com/ and see the dolls, but some are missing most of their photos.

ooooh i'll have to get Sadako a wig...she has a really thick rubber band holding her Leekeworld wig on.

 

It's already the 7th, and still no doll sighting T_T or any e-mail back from change. I should put out a word for change out on here, just she hasn't been on DOA in a while. I should go to my post office to see if maybe a package is waiting for me, but my post office usally informs me if i have a package to pick up.

Carolyn.S, I'm able to access the site. But the store on their new main page has never worked as far as I know. If I remember correctly, they were in the process of setting up their new store, but got delayed, then switched backed over to their old store, and then put up the unfinished store. Its all so confusing with laidoll @_@

 

If Change has left the company, and maybe your order has got caught up when they changed sites maybe there has been one almighty mix up. Keep trying and trying and maybe someone else on here who is in contact with them can help?

I am so hoping things work out for you <hugs> it was bad enough waiting for Kef for near a month.... you've been so patient.

 

It has been confirmed that they have my order (once I placed the order three months ago it was confirmed by change), so I'm not worried if they have my order or not. The status of the dolls I'm worried about. Since I ordered Kaga and my doll together, I'm worrying for two dolls. Since Kaga ordered hers with a faceup, I'm not sure if there will be more delays with that.

I just sent change a message though ebay, so i hope she gets that and replys to me asap. In the mean time, i'll have to keep poking around trying to get in contact with anyone with laidoll and look out for a UPS truck ^^; .

 

From that ebay auction I saw the other day, change is still a Laidoll agent - she's still selling Lily on ebay (lesrees, did you get yours on ebay?), so she CAN still access the Internet. However, back when I was waiting for my Lily and having (minor) communication problems, change claimed that she was having problems getting messages from ebay.

Yanagi and Kaga - if you haven't already, try using ebay's dispute resolution (I can't remember what they call it) to get change's attention. That seems to be the only place that change is accessing regularly.

 

Does Lily always come in the same wig and kimono? Or did they stop doing that?

I wanted to get a Lily a while back, but that was because I was drawn in by the extras. But now I've been hearing so many issues on receiving their doll, I'm not so sure anymore.

I ordered from an eBay dealer. NOT Change!

Yvonne was lovely to deal with. I ordered something small from her eBay shop a few months ago and was very happy with the service.

Because the make up is so crappy, I suggested to Yvonne that she get offer the dolls at a discount without faceup. She said her next was already ordered with but she would try without. She plans to carry BJD along with her line of clothing.

My Lily arrived with no clothing because I did not like the dress she was shown in. I got a $30 discount for the dress so my Lily only cost $170. I do not know how long she will sell them for that price.

Lily arrived bald as well as nekkid. My other doll wears a size smaller so Lily is stuck with a home made wig that is stretchy (and green). I have not found the source of cute wigs that some people on this board have found.

Yvonne did send an extra pair of eyes as a gift. When I get her make up done I will decide whether she looks better in the green eyes or the sparkle grey ones.

I have a kimono nearly finished for her. I thought I would be able to finish it before her arrival. She doesn't want to be seen with this face up so I have a lot of work (and not much time) in the near future.

So she came without th faceup and clothing and it got lowered to $170? How much did she lower it for the faceup? I don't like the faceup much, but I am still too hesitant to try one myself.

 

From what I can tell through the pictures on the eBay auctions for the "new Lily" she still comes in the same wig and the same kimono but the only difference is the fabric for the kimono (and it appears the make-up might be a bit heavier). After a year I’m not surprised the make-up style has changed a bit but the blushing on my own Lily was fairly thick. Maybe it’s a difference in the way Laidoll took and touched up photos. As for the fabric, I bet they just ran out of the material they originally were using to make the kimonos. It doesn’t seem like they plan to discontinue selling her with extras though.

It's hard to say much about the company right now. It seems pretty clear that they're going through a rough patch, but I trust others who have ordered Lilys recently will keep us posted.

I guess I was confusing. She came with the makeup. Yvonne did not get kimono with the doll she was selling so she put an ugly white Lolita dress and headdress on Lily and tried to sell her for $200. When she did not sell I contacted Yvonne and asked if I could buy her without the dress. Because I was careless (dolly excitement) I did not get the wig either.

She did have that ugly face up. It looks every bit as bad in person as it does on eBay, maybe worse.

I asked Yvonne, after I had received Lily, if she could be bought without the make up for a discount. Yvonne said that her next doll would have make up because it had already been ordered. She plans to try to sell them without. I do not know what the discount would be.

If anyone has a default wig they would like to sell, PM me.

 

Oh, there's someone else selling Lily on ebay? This is good news! - used to be that change was the ONLY one you could get a Lily from (other than one-time secondhand sellers).

Regarding the wigs - the ones we're discussing upthread came from jpopdolls, who sell as "designersndolls03" on ebay. Lily wears a size 7/8. Usually.XD

Slightly OT, but since their wigs fit Lily so well...

Their shoes are also on sale. I'm not sure how well their shoes fit Lily, but I ordered a pair anyway because they're exactly the style I've been looking for and I couldn't argue with the price.

 

Yeah, I was thinking in ordering a pair of shoes, if they fit Lily, tell me.

 

I am chickening out. I NEED a good face up for my Lily but, I am afraid to try it. Yes, I have seen the great tutorials. I'm still chicken.

Any recommendations for a face up artist? My Lily needs a very natural look.

About the shoes, I could use some recommendations. Lily's foot is 1/8 inch longer than my other doll. Very few of the shoes fit. The ones that say they are for MSDs are way too big (they're too big for my other girl too). Combine that with Lily's skinny foot and nothing seems to fit.

Leekeworld shoes don't fit Lily at all.

She also can wear those fabric sneakers that are sold as keychains here... I keep an IKEA paper tape measure in my purse so whenever I see those shoe keychains in the mall I'll whip out my tape measure to see if they're the right length. Gets me some weird looks sometimes but hey, it's for my girl. Mimiwoo occasionally has some of those shoes in stock.
