Yes, very much so.

Yup. They looked even sweeter in person.

How was the communication?: Very polite and friendly! They send me confirmations of every stage I went with my MOM'S creditcard (@_@). It was my fault I didn't keep an eye on my e-mail, that it took so long to confirm the payment.. ;_;

How easy was it to pay?: Easy! They were very helpful and nice. Even thou you would think that a customer from Finland would cause MUCHO trouble for them. None what so ever! They didn't get confused about the orderer being me and the payer my mom (the ID we scanned and sent were my mom's ofcourse)

How long did it take to ship?: Durr, still coming @_<

To this point DOD has been amazingly helpful and nice. I love their molds, and for SURE will be buying from them again. Even thou I'm still waiting for my first -_-..
And I was kind of surprised ppl were... I dunno... offended that they wanted the IDs sent to them.. ._. you do that in a normal shop too while buying things with your creditcard. They ask for your ID. My mom is REALLY paranoid about stuff like this, and she just handed me her ID without asking anything. Up till' now, I'v been thinking there's nothing odd in that. If there would be a system, that would allow people to show their ID safely through internet while buying things, they would probably be using that. But there is no such thing ;_; so we have to fax or scan our ID. And to me, it seemed as if the ppl in DOD were kind of.. sorry for all the inconvinience they were causing people with that ID thing. Atleast their way of telling stuff in the e-mails after I had confirmed that they really had got the ID and that it was he right way to send it, was not the kind of "Professional" way, but more of "we are so sorry for all this ;_;". That, or then I'm totally paranoid and nuts. I wouldn't be surprised. /shrug

How was the communication? - Very good, i emailed a couple of times once to make sure they would get my bank transfer (my bank didnt have a space to put order number so i got them to put it where the telephone number was ment to go), and once when he was shipped as his tracking didnt update for almost 2 weeks, they repied within 24hours and were really helpful and checked where my order had gone when they had handed it over to ems.

How easy was it to pay? - Wasnt too bad, all the bank transfer details were there, the problems were my end with a stupid bank that has nowhere on its computer forms to put down an order number (i mean how stupid is that?)

How long did it take to ship? - He was shipped 26th December which was early thats like 4 weeks. He did take 2 weeks to arrive in the uk but i put that down to the xmas post.

Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? - Yes definatly hes definatly worth the price!

Did the item look like the sales pictures? - I hadnt seen a brown faceup on a ducan doll but wanted one. The outfits and Ducan himself look just like they do in the sales pics.

Were you satisfied with the product? - Very satisfied i love him.


On a side note i emailed DoD just to let them know that Ducan had arrived and they replied this morning saying they were glad he arrived safely. (i like to email companies to let them know my doll has arrived).

 

What did you order? DoC U HEAD, with face up. 4 s-hooks, 1 wig, Also, they sent 1 more head s-hook as the free gift xD

How was the communication? - Pretty good =] 24-48 hours I'd say. However, they did ignore one of my questions in an email, it was "Do eyes come with the head" *they don't I learned...*

How easy was it to pay? Pretty easy, scanning and such was a pain, but it was easy

How long did it take to ship? about a week or two I think..., >_> My tracking number didn't work at all though

Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? YES, but his eyelashes are comming off REALLY easily ^^" I think 160 for a HEAD with face up is a little much, but it's great quality.

Did the item look like the sales pictures? Eh, Sooorrrtta....I requed face up like the FULL SET, and it doesn't look like it, or very much like the normal, but I'm happy with it, and I emailed and told them it was wrong, but since I didn't want to go through the whole send-back stuff I just told them that it was wrong, but very beautiful and to thus please send my compliments to the face-up artist....

Were you satisfied with the product? Yes, as said above about the face up...Even though I think that the FS face up was more him, but I'll live >_>

Excellent. I emailed them about cancelling my make-up order and they responded within 1 day.

How easy was it to pay?
Very easy. Paid with credit card, sent them the scans they requested and received payment confirmation next day.

How long did it take to ship?
5 weeks and 6 days. That's 2 weeks earlier than what was stated on the website. O.o

Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion?
Absolutely. The wig is gorgeous, the clothes are excellent quality and the doll is made of pretty sturdy resin. I checked and there were no cracks or uneven surfaces on him.

Did the item look like the sales pictures?
Surprisingly, yes. Although, the wig needs a bit of fiddling to get the long strands to look like the picture. :]

Were you satisfied with the product?
Yes yes yes yes yes yes! I would buy from them again in a heartbeat.

Yes. I got the doll, extra hands, doll bag, and wig for $349 ^-^ plus the event head.

How was the communication?
I wasn't the one placing the order, so I can't contribute anything in regards to payment and communication with the company.

How easy was it to pay?

How long did it take to ship?
Just about 8 weeks. The package was sent to me since I was keeping the largest part of the order, and it was very well packed. Everything was securely bubble-wrapped and padded.

Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion?
The sculpt is beautiful, poses wonderfully, and the resin is great quality... but she didn't seem nearly as "finished" as dolls I've received from other companies. Her seam lines were very apparent and unsanded, and the hole in the bottom of her head had an excess "spar" of resin sticking into it, leftover from casting and not removed. It rubbed against the elastic and started cutting into it, so I had to sand down the "spar". The eyewells seemed a bit lumpy, causing eyes to sit funny in her head. The extra fist hands have a strange lump between the index finger and thumb, like she's squeezing a ball of clay inside her fist and it's oozing out. Essentially, I felt that I was getting a fairly raw cast. If I could do it all over, I would pay the price again, because I love the sculpt so much. However, I feel that some other companies charge a similar amount for a more finished-looking end product.

Did the item look like the sales pictures?
More or less. There's a strange part of the sculpt where the bottom of her nose meets her face, but it's there on the sales pics if you look closely. I just didn't notice it. ^_~

Were you satisfied with the product?
Yes and no. I don't mind working on my dolls (actually I love it... it helps me bond with the doll), so the extra work to sand seams, smooth off edges, and bevel her eyewells didn't bother me. I love her, and she's one of my favorite dolls, but it took some work to get her there. I guess I'm more annoyed with the fact that I wasn't warned I'd be getting such an unfinished product. If I'd known, I still would have bought her, since I like the work. But I feel that they should let people know that they do not do as much finishing as is usually expected. I thought I should share this experience, as others might not enjoy the work as much as me.

Then again, they may just have been very busy at the time and I might have gotten a doll that slipped through the cracks... you never know. ^_~

How was the communication?
I emailed to add both the heeled feet and wig after my initial order was placed ~ and even though they were super busy with the holiday event, they always responded within 48 hours. Not only that, when I sent payment for the additional items via paypal, they would email me to let me know that the payment was received and that it will be included in my order. Such great communication~!

How easy was it to pay?
Very easy! They started to allow paypal again~ and when I added the extra parts they just gave me the total and I paid again through paypal.

How long did it take to ship?
8.5 weeks (because I ordered during the peak of the holiday event)

Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion?
Yes. The quality is superb~

Did the item look like the sales pictures?
Yes~

Were you satisfied with the product?
I don't think i could be more satisfied with the doll that they sent me. I was hesitant at first about how she would turn out and the make up option I selected (peach), but when i saw her my jaw practially dropped! She was so stunning and their attention to details is amazing! I don't think I can be any happier. Seriously.

How was the communication?
I had a million questions before I ordered, they answered everyone within 2 days. I had sent a few reminder e-mail after the 6 weeks mark and they answered each one within 2 days.

How easy was it to pay?
Very easy! I always used my CC and faxed them my info; my payment is usually confirmed within the same day.

How long did it take to ship?
10.5 weeks (because I ordered during the peak of the holiday event)

Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion?
Yes. The quality is good.

Did the item look like the sales pictures?
The doll himself is, the eyebrows are funny. But that can be fixed.

How was the communication?
Very good for DOD, I emailed them for the status and I got a reply the next day. Though perhaps they should have sent an email to everyone earlier saying there would be a delay.

How easy was it to pay?
Very easy. It was during the event and they took Paypal.

How long did it take to ship?
An extremely long time. It was finally shipped March 17, 2008, around 80 days or 11 weeks.

Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion?
It is a high quality doll, but being new to BJD's I don't think a doll should be what I paid ($749) Still it is a wonderful doll, and I have no complaints.

Did the item look like the sales pictures?
Basically, I didn't realize his face was kinda blushed and his eyebrows go up slightly, but really it was just little things like that.

Were you satisfied with the product?
I am satisfied, he is beautiful! DOD answered my email, and also did what I requested...brown eyes, his wig in the picture, and for his makeup to me as close to his pictures as possible. The faceup is breathtaking. The seam lines are not sanded down, but they are barely noticeable. I was not happy with my wait, however I did order during an event and was familiar with DOD, so I expected a long wait time. I would buy from them again.
Kiyoshi was able to stand right out of the box. The resin feels smooth and looks wonderful. The clothes are excellent quality and feel and look like real clothes. The fur wig is great quality too, though it is much more purple tinged then I thought.
He has made me a true believer in BJD's. All other dolls but them pale in comparison, and this is coming from someone who collects and has many different types of toys.

It took 9 weeks and 4 days for receiving the shipping email and then 4 days for coming home.

Really beautiful and nice quality doll. The seam lines are not sanded down, but that´s not a problem.The faceup is wonderful.

When I received my Lahoo he had a broken finger. I sent an email to DOD about this and they told me that they will replace the broken hands for free. So yeah I´m really satisfied.

 

SO as of RIGHT NOW... does DOD take paypal?? I'm very confused. It seems as though they keep switching. One moment they accept it and the next they don't. Do they right now? Because I was planning on using paypal to pay for my girl this month!!

I think resin is somehow look cheaper than my DOT that I got a year ago. But overall, it's okay.

Yes. Actually I got cracked leg. I mailed them and got replied within 2 days. And a week later I got a replacement. Very satisfied. ^ ^

 

Thank you for posting these. It really helps to know what to expect when ordering, since we can't be there in person to buy them.

 

Although I haven't gotten my boy yet I really do love the way that DoD was so kind to my emails. They only took between 12-48 hours to answer my emails, but I noticed posting on the new Q&A boards are even faster.

After I had put in my order for my Sha I wanted to change the face up option and they were fine with it. I gave them a picture of a simple face up that I liked and they said OK! I was just ecstatic that they were so willing to that!

How was the communication?
It was excellent. They replied to all my inquiries very quickly and nicely.

How easy was it to pay?
Well, that was a little problem for my dad, as I was using his cc. But DOD emailed him and explained to him why they needed his info and he felt better afterwards. Next time I'll probably use paypal though.

How long did it take to ship?
I think about 6 weeks!

Absolutely.

Well, no... but that's just because my doll doesn't have a faceup. He looks even more amazing in real life!
