Fortunately for my bank account I have no interest in the dragons, but I really like the dragon rider Lucia. It's rare to see that level of posabiliy in a doll her size. I already own a lot of mature tinies, but she's still super tempting.
Unfortunately I do ... and always wanted a pet doll and this is cat/dog size for larger SDs... not great timing monies wise. But I feel I would regret not getting one. Question out there... does anyone have any DV red resin? I am seriously considering a full set and although I slight like the red more than the black, red has the potential to fade/yellow and black resin won't (a huge bonus )
I think the first release of red resin from Dream Valley was last year. I ordered an MSD in red during the second release, but don't have him yet. I think Resin Soul's red resin has fairly good fading resistance, and I hoping Dream Valley's does too.
I ordered the dragon rider Lucia full set! She is very close in size to my Shelma Dolls April (I named her Stix). While I wait I want to make Stix a dragon rider companion outfit. What do you think was the main inspiration for Lucia's full set look?
Congrats on your order, I hope she arrives quickly and safely! Iโve only bought 1/4 scale dolls before but sheโs really tempting me. Dream Valley limited dolls alway make me want to reconsider my โdonโt buy a new doll until the previous one arrivesโ rule, haha. I really have no clue what her inspiration is, but her outfit has a more modern, stylish look than I expected when I first saw they were releasing a dragon rider. Makes me think sheโd inhabit a cool sci-fi fantasy world.
She gives me Final Fantasy XIV-ish vibes. It's a combination of the look of the clothes (it's not Final Fantasy without some truly weird design choices, like the asymmetric pants, whatever's going on with the sleeves, and the boot strapping) and the fact that she's a white-haired, ponytail-having, dragon-riding elf makes me think of Estinien.
@VicVersal oh yes I agree it's a sci fi fantasy blend. When I first showed my husband the pictures, he thought her shorts were painted on they are so tight and shiny! @Cryptid ah Final Fantasy XIV yep I can see that. I'll look further into some of those outfits, see if I am inspired I'll look up Estinien as well, thanks! Lol weird fashion design choices always intrigue me. I think Castlevania Judgement is my all time winner for top weird clothes!
I got 2 Dream Valley dolls for Christmas! They aren't my first Dream Valley dolls - I got 2 little dragons some time last year. (I'm in love with all of their dragons, but no monies and no space rules them out for me at present.) These 2 little guys are just so cute. I'll eventually paint them, though TBH, I'm actually happy with them just plain white! Meet Leaf (Gru) and Radish (Tea.) I'm working on setting up a little game room in a cubicle. It's a major WIP right now. leaf and radish 2 by PepperoniPizza 13BlackCats, on Flickr Tiny Monopoly by PepperoniPizza 13BlackCats, on Flickr
so cute! i have a soft spot for my little Gru too, his little hands and feet are so great right? the tiny Monopoly board is perfect for them
@pepperonipizza they're so cute with the game! I've got a Rubin wingless dragon from them that I adore. Added: I ordered a Lucia in tan today! She's going to fit better with my mature tines than my current tiny Dream Valley dolls, but it'll be interesting to see her next to them.
@Grimalkin - thank you! Yes, OMG, Gru's feet and hands are so magnificent! @Leo Pheonix - thank you! Rubin is such a cute sculpt - definitely on my 'I'd love to have' list! Congrats on ordering your new doll!
Looks like I'll be joining this thread as a little snakey girl fell into my cart at Denver Doll and she's currently making her way home. I think this is her way of telling me I should've just ordered her when she was released instead of telling myself I don't need a cute little naga to sit on my shelf... Does this ever happen to anyone else?
Thank you. I used chiffon ribbons and scarf as clothes, and decorated it with snake rings. I think it's very convenient for Naga to use ribbons as clothes
Sometimes, I need to see the entity to know I really need that cool thing Congratulations, she will be home soon
Does anyone know what fabrics have a medieval European vibe to them? I want to have that kind of stuff for my naga when it arrives, because I wanna make a character based on Melusine, something I did mention earlier, though I didn't name drop Melusine back then.
@marephome - Thank you! I've wanted a little naga girlie since Sugarable released theirs! I wasn't able to get one then so I was really happy to see Dream Valley's. I talked myself out of ordering one at the time, and was sort of following DDE to see if they would get some in stock. I agree about using ribbons as clothing! I bet lace would look nice as well. It's what I plan on doing for my girlie. I want to dye her a light grayish blue and I also want to see if I can pull of glittery scales.
