    1. I just got mia on the 3 arm body, and i absolutely had to restring it. i had never restrung a full doll before (only my hujoo freya, whose joint system is....notably less sophisticated), so i was willing to overlook some tightness to avoid restringing. but, she was creaking so bad i was afraid she would break, and i definitely couldn't put her head back on after putting eyes in before i restrung her! i've heard from many other DV owners that this is just a company-wide problem.

granted, it does seem like this body has to be relatively tight to hold a pose, but DV must either string by machine or have the world's strongest man string these kids, jeez.
i definitely recommend ResinMelody's restringing tutorial on youtube, she teaches you how to measure out new elastic in an easily understandable way. 3mm is the size you need. i tried 2, 2.5, and 3.5, and 3 fits best. if you can't find any in stock on doll sites, look up paracord/shock cord- it's got less stretch and more strength to it.

if/when you ever restring the body, i'm no professional but feel free to PM me with questions!

    2. ^^^ i actually wondered the same thing, if there was a machine contraption at factory

i got a tennis/badminton racquet restringing tool - looks like the doll tool with the hook, but it's solid metal so it won't pop apart. helps a lot when my hands hurt. also, hear the beige elastic from Dollmore was strong enough, yet soft enough? if that's the right way to say it... i just got a bag of different sizes to try, so i'll have report back :thumbup.

i've had my Vine for just about a year now, so he has loosened a little. i kept him curled in fetal in a little blanketed box, i think that might have helped him stretch a bit.

    3. @chatdemon and @Grimalkin thanks for the info! My Vine arrived yesterday, and while he feels tight it seems to not be super concerning. (That could just be because I don't have much experience with how tight things should be, though.) I have some 3mm elastic on the way just in case, also! That should arrive in a few more days, and in the meantime I'll deliberate if it's necessary or not :)

    4. Here's the shots I just took of my guys one with flash and one without in regular daytime light (such as it is in my apartment). The DC white seems to have very, very slight creamy undertones that are hard to photograph well but you can see a miniscule difference in person. Unless someone was specifically looking for a mismatch between the two it likely wouldn't be noticeable that they're ever so slightly off. Keep in mind that I don't have any other DC resin so I have no idea how quick/slow their resin mellows or any other DC resin to compare it to. I'd pin the DV/DC match to be 99% based on the dolls I own.

Vaynabei is a DC Clemans Winter 2017 event doll in WS that I bought brand new from Oobie Doll. He arrived to me in August 2018.
Kheima is an SD Souloid Phiel Gold Mechanic head in WS that I brought brand new from SD in November 2016 (I think that means it's their "old" WS?) on the DV 3-arm body in WS purchased new through Legend Doll that arrived to me January 2020. Oddly, the match between SD/DV photographs more off than it is in real life where it's a barely noticeable difference.

    5. Thank you so much!! It’s good to know SD white resin matches as well, though the idea of a SD/DV hybrid is dangerous... I love SD’s sculpts.

@Grimalkin Thank you for the offer! If it’s not too much trouble, I would be curious to see how the DZ pink compares to the DV white.

    6. @Iron_Dog - His shirt piece matching his hair and eyes look so cool!

    7. @xxkittymexx - sure, i''ll get a few different production times out for you in DC & DV and also the pink DZ. He had a broken calf on arrival, and was in stock at dealer for quite some time, so the replacement calves are very recent. so you can see two shades of DZ pink too. my light is pretty gone for tonight, but i'll work on it tomorrow. if there are any other makers i have you want to see in the pool just let me know, my insanity is in my profile. yep. all my sins. but i'd say i mostly have WS, DC Peach, NS + powder beige switch, shades, and some Dollshe/5th "oriental", "fresh" & "strawberry fresh", and a "yellow" charm doll.

@Iron_Dog i love my Clemans too, and i really like the wig you have on yours! i need to find one my poor boy is currently bald.... and Kheima is amazing, i really love the facial expression and the wig, just all of it - so beautiful <3

    8. @xxkittymexx I love SD. I have 5 full SD boys and Kheima who's a hybrid. To help/enable you, the Phiel head (Kid sized line) popped on the DV body without any mods necessary and the fit is perfect.

@xyuemoto Kheima's shirt is a scarf I've had for literally decades. Since he's got the 3-arm body, standard shirts are not a thing for him. However, wrap a skinny scarf around him a bit creatively and fasten it with a broach and there you go.

@Grimalkin Vaynabei as a character was originally supposed to be a Soom Azur with the merbody but he proved near impossible to find since I missed out on the original sale period. I eventually gave up after several years of fruitless searching and bought the Clemans when I realized he'd work better for the vain, full of himself character that he is. His wig is a Monique. I cut 2 tiny slits in the wig cap between the wefts so his horns could poke through as I found that trying to get a wig to stay on his head was near impossible due to both his head size and the position of the horns. I was going to have his face painted but I actually like him better blank for his character and for where he actually lives in the depths of the ocean. Funny enough, his partner, Naicree (Argonautica Little Kio in transparent blue resin) also doesn't have a face-up nor will he ever get one.

Kheima's wig is by Hazel's Esthetics on Etsy. He needs a face up but the pandemic put a bit of a crimp in sending out things in the mail even if I'd only be sending him to someone in Canada and he wouldn't need to cross any international borders just a provincial one. It took me several tries to get his eyes right (and they didn't photograph well in those shots) but I'm quite pleased with how they turned out. Kheima's partner is Ravir (Batchix Dark Elf).

    9. i have quite a few "blank" dolls that i'm finding it difficult to think about a face up (many are DV!), since they are supernaturally beautiful without it. to the point that i even bought an extra head here and there so i have options... i figured the holes in the wig would need to happen, thanks for the confirm haha.

I really love that three armed boy too. he's next on my DV list, but they just put those wolftaurs (?) out and i'm just trying to ignore i ever saw them, but unnnnnnnnh. i want.
chaos of course. no order up in this house haha.

    10. I have 3 dolls that'll never have face-ups because they don't need one. Vaynabei, Naicree and Dakvir (Doll-Love God-Enjoy boy dyed black). I had thought about getting Dak a face-up when I initially had him dyed but people never really notice that he isn't painted. I put some wickedly long lashes on him and that's it for him.

Those wolf-taurs are.... They're so very, very tempting and they'd hit my sweet spot of 50-ish cm boys. One of them would potentially give me the excuse (like I need one) to also buy a Conarium boy as his partner. But I'm also trying to talk myself out of buying a very cool head that's apparently limited and since I have a serious addiction to resin in the form of dolls, resisting that is... challenging.

Because, y'know, it's just a head. Not like buying a full doll at all. Not like I'd have to rush out and buy him a body or anything. Or scurry around the doll sites looking for his partner. Nothing like any of that at all. You guys believe me, right? :abambi:

    11. i am so digging that hole with a broken shovel right now myself...
and ooo conarium... i like them too. i'm always trying to talk myself out of something, and yeah, they can share a body with somebody else, right? hahaha "in theory" - my famous last words...

i'm fiddling around running the numbers, and i'd be 24 bucks or so shy of the event doll if did both (hello somebody gets a tiny resin weapon)... and i'm less into the rabbits i guess. ugh. i better just forget i saw them. but those toe beans... i'm weak.
his face is really nice too. the sitting poses with the front feet crossed. sigh.
when they come up in stock they are never on sale either...
      halp

    12. Your collection is very impressive :love I would love to see the DC (and I think I saw a DZ head?) in peach as well. I have a DC head in peach that I'm considering getting a DZ body for. Why I can't just be happy with full dolls from DZ, DC, and DV instead of mix-matching the heads and bodies is beyond me, but it's the situation I'm in. At least they all go together style-wise!

    13. I think I can avoid the temptation of the new wolf-taurs because grey is an option colour (and I'm deadly weak against grey resin) and once I add in that +face-up+shipping and factor in the craptacular Canadian dollar exchange rate (roughly $700US/$925CAN)... My wallet has put it's foot down quite hard and issued a very firm NO! That's helped (hindered?) by the fact that I don't have that much in my dolly savings account and if I don't have cash in hand, I don't buy.

    14. The wolf boys are gorgeous but i'm not 100% on either of their faces and you can't get the body in a different colour to the humany bit which is a bummer because it'd look so much cooler to my eye.
I'm trying to be good though. i shall admire the wolf taurs from afar!

I really would love to see chocolate skin in the "flesh" so to speak though. See how different it really is to their original tan.

    15. Legend Doll stated on their site that the colour of Chaos is the chocolate. I thought it was tan as chocolate brings to my mind a darker resin colour. There is also a colour show of the various DV resins on the Doll Legend site and I believe it includes both the tan and the chocolate. It's not an in person thing but maybe it would help a little?

    16. @xxkittymexx - good eye - i forgot about peach Yuhan  he's new, so i'm still working him into the crew! I'll set it up and get some pics, i'll take little breaks from work today and work it in, what a crazy week.

@Iron_Dog - your will power is truly inspirational. :aangel:
i have my spreadsheet telling me: nope, even layaway is a bad idea. sigh. i've told myself that lie before though... *snort*

    17. @Iron_Dog - Thanks for posting that info. I had been wondering if there was a comparison image. Chaos doesn't look the same darker colour as that headcap though (at least on my screen), I am guessing in real life the colour is not as dark as I was thinking from the name chocolate.

    18. @Iron_Dog - was wondering... do you have both DV and Soom grey? DV's looks a bit purple, which might work for me for smth else...

    19. Yes, I have Soom grey (of course I do ) but no DV grey. I have an original release Euclase from 2008 (I'm his 3rd? owner and just received him a few weeks ago), an ID51 Gluino vamp from 2017 (ordered direct from Soom) and an Auber Storm Sprite 2011 release (2nd owner?, I got him in 2012).

I'm not sure how helpful it is but Granado syringa (grey) has purple undertones (yes, I have one of their grey dolls, too). Fun fact! Syringa is the scientific name for the lilac tree.

I also have grey from other companies, too, like Impl, RS (special request dark grey), Illusion Spirit, 5Star (special request dark grey), Iple, SD, Batchix (this is a purple-grey) and Lume (zombie skin which is a green tinged grey). I wasn't kidding about the grey resin weakness.
