Dream Valley Mini Discussion Thread

    1. Has anyone ever put Dean or Howard's head on the B4-04 body? Their human versions come on the B4-13 body and I was told by alices collections that their heads wouldn't fit on the B4-04 because their neck hole is too small.

Their neck size is 6.5cm, and the B4-04 body's is 7cm

I do love that body though and I don't want the Dean II since I love the ears and horns, so has anyone tried that combo and noticed if it's too small or not?

    2. Is the 07 body the same as the one that the fox boys (Glen/Aiden) use? Because I'd be happy to photograph them next to my Howard, if you'd like. He's on the 13 body.

    3. He's so beautiful :love Sad to hear about company's face-up (my Silina came perfectly painted), but his new one is really good!

DV dolls are really special. I'm in love with Dean I (human ver. with horns and ears), and as he'll be discontinued soon, I'd better go grab him... Dean III is absolutely stunning as well, but I don't think I can afford him right now. Still have some time to think, anyway.

I'd show my dragon lady Silina and pet-dragons Eve&Bor, but I don't have decent pictures of them :( However, they're going to participate in Dollscar, so I'm looking forward to getting good photos!

    4. I recently received a purple Dean giraffe-taur (in-stock at BJDivas) and I love the way his resin changes tones depending on the light. He'll either be a purple-grey or a grey-purple. Considering how I have a terrible weakness for grey resin and only a slightly less terrible weakness for coloured resin, this works out well. He's blank and omg DV strung him so incredibly tight I have no idea how I'm going to get his head off to send it to be painted. He poses like a champ though.

I'm in the process of making him a wig that is sort of dreadlocks but not really. The locks are several strands of yarn that's twisted together in one direction and then the doubled strand is twisted in the opposite direction (I have a tool to help with this). So far it's taken me about 5-6 hours to do what I hope is enough locks. Now I need to sew all the ends to prevent untwisting and that's going to take easily twice that amount of time *sigh*. Then to sew them onto the cap. But it looked really cool (if I do say so myself) when I test pinned a bunch of them onto the cap.

    5. yes its the same body, and pictures would be amazing! I'm really curious how they look next to an MSD, I ordered a mature MSD in February, and would love to get the Fox Julie as her little witch apprentice. ( I mostly just want to make her giant oversized witch hats lol)

    6. I'm waiting on the B4-05 body, the same as the B4-04 except for the extra arm and the Howard II head, as I love both and the sizes are compatible. The company offers the human B4-13 for the original Dean and Howard heads as the neck sizes are both 6.5. I'm so impatient for my grey monster-arm man and his pet (Rubin)! It'll probably be another 3 months though... In the meantime here's Morrigan in a Dollmore shirt and leggings. The baggy shirt fits under her wings without any alterations.

@maryw13[/USER] If you really want to put the original Dean head on the B4-04 body you would most likely need to mod either head or neck to fit together properly. However, I have a tiny Little Monica head/Luts body hybrid where the neck is a little big for the head yet it works pretty well with minimal sanding. I'm not sure wat the original size difference was, as Luts doesn't have it with their body listings.

    7. Here's a pic of my Aiden next to Garret! (I'm going to paint Aiden's face on Sunday, hopefully.)
And since this particular body is very tall compared to some of my other MSD sized dolls, here's Aiden in comparison to a minifee. And the group as a whole. Happy to do other comparison pics too, if you want to see the little dude with another doll, just send me a message.

    8. @Magnus Vale thank you so much! Garret looks so tall next to him! My MSD is an Iplehouse FID athletic build, so I think she's just a little bit taller than the minifee. so it should work!

      thank you again!

    9. Just received my Aiden and... man. That tail is beautiful but it got kind of messed up. Where each tail piece meets there is dark scuffing so I'm pretty disappointed. I'm not sure if the dealer can do anything but I'll try.

(Also I'm unsure how to take his head off to put his shirt on as he came with no instructions but that's the least of my problems right now lmao)

EDIT: I think the scuffing is caused by the rotating tail parts rubbing against paint somewhere? If I rotate the tail bits, the scuffing gets worse.

    10. It's been my experience with DV that they're strung wickedly tight. Scuffing is most def a thing around joints regardless of how careful you are. I would think that it would be worse/more pronounced with extremely tight stringing. It's a pain in the butt however I've found that pulling the joint out slightly to re-position can help minimize scuffs chipping. It won't stop it but it has helped me with one of my guys (not a DV) that has fully airbrushed legs/feet.

I have no idea how I'm going to get the head off Kyrieleison (DV Dean) to send him out for a face-up as he's strung impossibly tight. I'm not too worried about it yet as I haven't picked a face-up artist to paint him but I'm not looking forward to that upcoming struggle.

    11. She looks so cool. Dream valleys sculpting is always wonderful. The griffin head is epic. I’m not sure about the armour on the limbs, I prefer natural animal parts but it also looks beautifully sculpted so I can probably come to terms with it.

I can’t wait to see more photos.

    12. A griffin-centaur?! So far that looks amazing. Can't wait for more photos!

Good thing I decided to pass on ordering 2 tiny dolls from Granado for the moment. I might not be able to pass on this one...

    13. She is so cute!

    14. I have this exact doll on the way but in grey. Finding clothing is whilst waiting for her is definitely quite the task, I think unfortunately making your own clothes might be the only answer, which is what i planned on doing for my freyja

    15. Ah, yeh. I could see that being the case. I don't know what exactly I'll end up doing, but maybe I'll find some place that does custom stuff. I do costume design and construction for a living so getting motivated to do all that in my free time is a big ol struggle. I'll be sure to mention if I do find anything that fits out there!

    17. She is incredible. She is my favourite doll they have done so far.

    18. ..... I want one but which one, hmm. I guess I'll decide when the face sculpt gets a better reveal.
