1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Dream Valley Mini Discussion Thread

Feb 7, 2018

    1. Hello. Does anyone have pictures of the B4-15 body or (which is even better) any comparison photos with other bodies or companies?
I've seen this one but I need more examples :)

    2. Are Dream Valley company faceups similar to the picture? I'm planning on getting a human Achelous head with faceup since I found the faceup in the photos to be especially charming.

    3. dayspring10, for me looks same, but their body blushing can be more intensive then on promo. I took Athos as 1st DV doll and I was very disappointed with body blushing, but my last dragon boy looks good.
Also I ordered +2 dolls from them with face-ups, still waiting.

    4. If that's the case, will certainly be ordering him since it's faceup only. Thanks.

    5. dayspring10, maybe it was long time ago and now it can be ok, cos my dragon looks as on promo. I took my Athos when it was new mold. But my Paris I ordered w/o blushing, only make-up. U can check at another box openings. Btw yw ^^

    6. I recently got my Dean I in, and he can't actually sit on his own. :pout: Is this normal with the B4-13 body? Or is it a tight stringing issue? His legs don't seem to want to stay bent at the hips.

    7. Most DreamValley dolls are strung *super* tight by the company. I couldn't even get the head on my dragon boy because of it.
Not to mention the creaking every time something moved.

    8. Does anybody know if the B4-13 (47cm) body will keep being on sale even when the dolls that were sold with that body got discontinued? I was hoping to get a Project Delta Salome head now and get a body later, I thought the B4-13 would be a good match but since dolls like Dean and Howard got discontinued I don't know if they would keep selling that body.

My other alternative could be B4-15 (49cm), it won't be much of a problem since Salome is offered with either de Project Delta 'Actual Body' (43cm with head) or the 'Mannequin body'(49cm with head), the thing is that B4-13 is cuter and would fix more Salome's new look?

Another question, how is the white resin for Dream Valley? is it paper white or more like a skin tone white?, yellow or rosy white?

    9. I'm not sure on the bodies but the white is white.
Rubin | Den of Angels This is my Rubin, he's in white.

    10. Well, it does look white as white could be lol, like paper white, which would be perfect because Salome is paper white and there are no other colors. Thank you!

    11. I own a white Grayson and he is very much a cream white, not at all true/paper white, however my Foxy also DV white skin was more a paper white/eggshell white. So know there are shade differences by batches with Dream Valley white skin.

    12. I asked a similar question elsewhere about DV white, and was shown brand-new-vs-current-appearance photos of a 2019 doll: DV white is indeed paper-white, but it doesn't hold its colour over time and yellows steadily to a creamy white (yellow tone). So it might be age, not batch differences, that makes DV white resin look different. DV may have made their white resin more colour stable since then but I can't confirm this.

That info was from @IzabethS - I'll let her share photos of her DV Ann if she wants.

      .

As for bodies being discontinued, DV so far has been quite transparent - announcing when standard dolls will be discontinued, and running an event sale to coincide with that. So if they discontinue a body you want, you'll probably get plenty of notice about it.

If you want to be absolutely sure, you can either ask a dealer, or check out the product listings in DV's Taobao shop. The doll bodies are all in letter/number codes so you don't need to understand Mandarin. Bodies that are out of stock tend to be listed with prices of "99999.00" or similar ridiculous figure with 9s. If it's in stock, the price will look more reasonable, like "1250.00" or "1980.00". I expect the TB store to be more up-to-date in realtime than dealer websites. But I would keep an eye out for announcements since DV seems to broadcast whenever they're discontinuing standard dolls, and the dealers will post the news here.

    13. @aihre Might be both a change to their resin and age, but my Foxy is older and lighter then my Grayson, both were gotten new, and Grayson was always the same shade of cream. My dragon boy is from their first run of his mold and hasn't changed color since DV sent him to me. He has always been cream, were Foxy is paper white with some age darkening. So go figure. /shrug..

    14. The 3-arm body that I have Kheima on was purchased new (via a dealer) and was received in January of 2020. It is a snow/paper white that matched perfectly with the WS SD Phiel head (November 2016, purchased new from SD). He still appears snow/paper white to me but I also don't have another DV in WS to compare him to. Kheima's brother, Kyrieleison, is a Dean/Howard in purple so not helpful in this (although the purple is lovely).

All my guys rest in their boxes when I'm not doing something with them so any mellowing due to sunlight would be minimal at best.

    15. Not one of my other Dream Valley dolls has any sign of visible resin age on them my normal pinks, normal yellows, and grey skinned DV dolls all seem much the same color as when I got them. Also they seem closer to the same colors between batches, it's really only Grayson and Foxy that are very clearly different for being same color. I can only assume my cream Grayson is some fluke in the system, as came that color and has stayed it.

And he's for sure not normal yellow skin as I have another DV doll that color and it's peachyer and very human next to my Grayson. My Grayson is like a butter cream color. He is also 90% of the reason I wont buy another white skinned doll from Dream Valley he was just so much yellower then their sample photos and other owner pix seem. Thankfully I plan to fully dye mine once I am brave enough to tackle unstringing and restringing him.

    16. That's interesting info. I don't know what to make of all this except for batch differences, and maybe the way owners display their dolls. Well, I am getting a DV doll in white and expect to keep it out in ambient lighting conditions - no direct sunlight of course, but I won't hide the doll in darkness. So I'll find out whether the colour holds over time.

    17. Does anyone remember what the body type was for Cloris/Allison was. I want to buy some hands and feet from DDE and I want to make sure they'd fit.

    18. Human or fairy?
Human Cloris is on the B4-02 body. Winged Cloris is on the B4-01 body. Neither body has been discontinued (as far as I know), so 1/4 hands should work for both - unless I'm wrong here. Anyone else have a different experience?
I ordered multiple 1/4-scale option hands for the new B4-19 body, too. I'll let y'all know how they fit when my doll stuff arrives.

    19. It was the winged body! thank you for your insight!

    20. Well Dream Valley just released new gorgeous 1/4 bunny girls, and just like that my resolution to NOT buy any new dolls this year has gone out the window. *shakes fist at Dream Valley*

I’ve always been tempted by Fairyland’s bunnies, so there’s no way I’ll be able to resist these bunnies. I think I’ll get Olivia in white and then dye her human parts a light peach color. *keeps shaking fist at Dream Valley*

Edit: I’m getting her a sword too, and she’ll be inspired by a tattoo I have. :3
