It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Dream Valley Mini Discussion Thread

    1. Thanks for pointing out the blue undertone @Leo Pheonix. I'd missed that but can see it in a photo of a gray Coco fullset. It looks as much pale blue as gray. Hmmm.

Yeah I'm not really sure about a yellow-snow leopard. :XD:

    2. Glad to see Iโ€™m not the only one considering grey if I get Uncia. Actual snow leopards are more grey than white and I figure grey blushing will chip like crazy, so going with colored resin seemed like something to consider.

    3. I didn't know dv's white resin was particularly prone to yellowing, that's interesting! I do have one doll of theirs that had yellowed significantly, but I had assumed it was all bad care on my end (it probably also is).
Now I'm wondering if I should see if I can change my order to a grey skin, or if I can live with a snow leopard that'll someday be yellow...

    4. I have a DV 3-arm body in WS that I bought new in 2019 and it hasn't noticeably yellowed. It is also a bang on match for the old white of SD (the head is a SD one). Granted, my guys all live in their boxes as I lack display space but I haven't seen any yellowing for Kheima.

I can't comment on the grey they do as my other DV boy, Kyrieleison (Dean giraffe-taur), is in purple. However, depending on lighting, he will be either a grey toned purple or a purple toned grey and yes, it does look different in different light. That's actually perfect for his character as his soul is a tiny fragment of Saimeer's (the Elder God of Chaos) that was left over after the creation of the universes.

    5. Took a photo of my grey Howard on the 3-arm body (Deimos), white Rosa (Morrigan), and white Rubin. I got my Rosa in-stock from DDE in 2020, the other two arrived September 2022. It's hard to see in the photo, but Rubin is whiter than Rosa. And I don't think she's changed noticeably since she arrived. Maybe DV's white resin has gotten whiter?

    6. Sorry, I shouldn't have said that. It was an impression at that moment from picking up a doll I haven't handled in a couple years, but I don't actually have any other newer DV dolls to compare against and memory isn't such a great reference for absolute color shift. So I should have just stuck with their white, at least a few years ago, wasn't pure or "paper" white to begin with and all whites will yellow over time.

I've removed the comment from my original post.

    7. It was no problem! Like I said, I do have one DV doll that has yellowed a lot (from 2020 if I remember well) so what you said fit with my own experience. I do also have a newer white doll from 2022 (I think?) that has not really yellowed at all, but I've also gotten more careful with my dolls.

Ultimately, it's pretty hard to predict how resin will age :sweat

    8. It's very hard to predict how the resin will age as there's a lot of variables, some of which are completely out of our control as owners. There might have been an issue with a batch (which happened with my RS old blue Jun which mellowed to a completely even light turquoise, which is beautiful and works better for his character), the company may not use a UV blocker in their resin mix, a former owner may have had the doll constantly on display, it might've been exposed to constant/higher than normal heat.....

    9. I know when DV started they used that creamy colour resin that a lot of the budget chinese companies use. At some point they seemed to change to a white resin that was more white and my dolls with that resin haven't yellowed very much. Though I also take care not to expose my dolls to too much sunlight so don't know if that's a factor! :sweat

I was also thinking about white vs grey for the snow leopard. I think what puts me off the grey is that it looks quite dark, I think I would have preferred a lighter silver grey. And as I was getting the company blushing, it think it might be too pale for the grey base. The thing that put me off most about the white resin is that they airbrush the doll when they're assembled which create a 'stenciled' outline on the piece below. I'm less worried about yellowing as my more recent DV stuff hasn't yellowed too badly and that the 'white' fur on snow leopards often has a yellow tone.

I think i'm a little wary of grey resin as I have a couple and the grey is very greenish. With yellowing i'm sure they'll get more green over time which isn't quite what I wanted foe those characters! It really is one of those, I wish the company had done an example in different resin colour/s so you can see what it looks like jobbie!

    10. I'm still on the fence about ordering the snow leopard. Now that I've seen the blue/green in the gray I know that's not something I'd like for this sculpt. So it's white or nothing.

    11. I had been thinking about getting the little Uncia fellow as a mini-me for my grey 70cm DV Scar (made in 2022), since I had planned to make him a snow leopard since late last year. my Scar doesn't seem as dark of a grey as Leo Pheonix's Howard, so I'm not sure how much variation the grey has by run. I don't have any 1/4 sized grey DV to compare though, just the big boy and a tiny Mike, who also seems more silver but he is definitely older. neither are as green toned as the Doll Chateau grey I have, but that is much older.

I definitely have received two kinds of white from DV as well. older items are the creamy version, and the newer items like Aria's claw and the owl wings seem more paper white to me. I didn't mind the creamy too much since it looks like bone which works great for my crew, but the difference is noticeable.

    12. I decided to go ahead and order a white one. Thanks everyone for all the info on the gray undertones and the new shade of white they're using.

    13. Looks like my guess was somewhat correct... DV's next release is a 1/3 girl with rabbit legs, taller sister of Olivia and Safina. Time to head over to DV's Large doll thread!

    14. I saw the preview on their instagram and was very surprised, given they already did bunnies earlier in the year. She looks impressive!

    15. For anyone who missed them at their initial release, the bunny girls are back for sale until late november

    16. So with the rerelease of the bunny girls, I find myself eyeballing them again, after holding back earlier in the year. Has anyone who ordered one received their Olivia or Safina yet? Thoughts?

    17. I think the ones you're talking about are in stock and Denver Doll. No discount, but no wait either.

    18. Yep, I saw them! About $50 difference, and between that and being able to pay in chunks (because I'm already working on a number of doll projects already), preordering and then just waiting is tempting.

    19. Understandable. I was just trying to provide some possibly helpful info.

    20. I've received my Safina in grey skin and I have only positive things to say about this lovely girl! :D Well, maybe the ear magnets could be stronger, the ears keep falling when she's wearing a wig.
I haven't had the time to start with bodyblushing or face-up yet but I'm sure I'll have fun blushing those bunny legs!
