Dressing Unidoll Males...any ideas??

Dec 15, 2008

    1. I recently bought some clothes from nine9 stile in hound size. http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=329635
Shirt fits perfect in shoulders and length but a bit too wide in waist though you can blame it on dress-shirt style . Jacket is a liitle bit too long than I would want it to be, so then it's zipped up I'm just tucking in the bootom. V-neck sits perfect!!!
And I also bought a hat that didn't wark at all with Nisse's wig.

Now I'm wondering how SD13 size clothes from nine9 style would fit him...*_*

    2. maranwet: Good to know that the hound size things fit. I need to order some stuff for my big boy. I was able to fit a nine9style SD13 shirt on my Ark. I think it looks great but it's a stretchy shirt. I'm not sure how a non-stretchy shirt would fit him.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v217/lma40/IMG_0026-2.jpg

cynthia Thanks for those links. It's very hard to fit these guys.

    3. My Jace can wear some of the Dollmore Model doll clothes, also one of their pants (baggy leather pants). I think it's a lot easier to find shirts and jackets - trousers are always difficult because of Unidoll's bulky legs...
Also some SD17 shirts fit quite well - at the moment my boy wears a Raphael SD17 shirt (a little tight around his chest, but still looks very good on him)

    4. Here is Stefan, my Vampire who's on an Unireal body wearing the boots I bought from ebay, a pair of lordjestocost leather pants, a Hound size Cheerydoll Frilly shirt and a Dollmore Boy Model sized long vest.

      * the sleeves look short because I was trying to get his double jointed elbows to do their thing and I got him posed and didn't dare touch the sleeves too much..but they actually are a good length on his arms and come down to where they are supposed to be.*

    5. laurmann2000, I guess CD13 dress shirts from nine9 style would be too small not to mention you'd probably need to remove the hands.

Catdancer, Stefan looks great! I think my next order will be from Dollmore :)

    6. My guess would be yes, the dress shirts would probably be too tight across the chest.

    7. Dollmore model man shoes work for Jace, that's what mine wears. Jace's lovely physique demands custom fitted pants, he has dancers thighs much larger than the lanky Hounds so only baggy pants would fit. Hound shirts fit only if they are somewhat loose at the waist. Hound jackets are ok at the shoulder and neck but a little narrow at the waist, sleeves are too long for Jace.

Here is the difference between Jace and Hound when it comes to fitted pants:

Jace has a higher waist, wider hips and legs than Hound. He has the body of a ballet dancer. Hound has skinny straight legs a completely different physique.

    8. Okay those measurements make sense, I guess I will continue to hunt then. I do have my Shinichi in a Soul Doll outfit, I had to take off his hands to get the long jacket on, but he looks so good in it. Will take a pic tomorrow to show.

    9. I bought my Luken a Dollzone outfit for 70 cm boys. The pants were a bit too long but it was no problem shortening them. They're very tight but not too tight. It's this one here:
      http://www.doll-zone.com/showproduct1.asp?id=24
I guess other outfits of the same size might fit just as well.

    10. How are the DZ pants when he sits? The big thing for me is getting pants with the higher waistband in back so his chronic "quadriglutes" when sitting don't make for buttcrack viewing.

    11. Can't tell about the DZ pants. I only tried a Dollmore modeldoll pants once on my Ark and they fit very well. Hmm I didn't let him sit so I can't remember the buttcrack problem.

I only got luck with one pants without the buttcrack. I think they were hound size pants. Brand says "Magic Tailer". If I am correct it was once an Ebay shop/seller, but they quit a long time ago. I'm very glad I got these pants somewhere, because now I have a good example for my own patterns.

(Shirt is from Dollmore and coat is made by me:sweat. Shoes are from Ebay. And you can't see, he is wearing dollmore socks :P He can never be under dressed XD)

      Close up.
Note Ark is wearing underwear beneath also. :3 And it still fits ^^ (Dollmore sd underpants exactly, I was very surprised they fit ^^) Gloves are from Luts in super senior delf size. And still they are very tight fit.

Ok last pic of him with a dollmore modelboy shirt, which is off the site sadly. So yep, Model doll boy clothes are a good fit, but they can come too long.
[IMG] Euh...the pants are selfmade (First tryout draft *cough*)

Looking forward what the boys/men can wear more.

    12. Can't say for any other DZ pants but the ones with the set I linked got a pretty high waistband. No buttcrack visible. :) They're really his favourite pants, one could say. Quite elastic, since it's fake leather. And tight enough around the ankles and calves that he can wear boots over them. You might wish to do something about the front of the pants, though. They tend to - well, show stuff if you don't (no zipper ...) *cough* But a tiny little piece of velcro in the right place will do the trick. ;)

Here's a pic of him wearing the DZ outfit:
(Note: The black vest that came with it was a bit tight around the chest but my aunt - who's really good at sewing - fixed at for me. Basically, she only had to make the armholes a bit larger. It fits perfectly now.)

      With boots:

    13. I think someone should ask Unidoll nicely for some more clothes for their Real line especially pants and shirts with sleeves. Finding the right style is hard:sweat

    14. My Unidoll Jace definitely does not fit SD13 pants. He has a ballet dancers build, with developped thighs and hip so he needs custom made to fit really well. I have found that a shaped waistband fits him best.

As for shirts, he pretty much shares them with my Dollshe Saint, the neck and cuff fit fine, the shirt needs to be a little loose though as he has a more muscular build than the skinny Dollshe, the sleeves will be a little long but that's usually not a problem with shirts.

Fitted jackets he definitely can't share with Dollshe, his chest is too broad and his waist is a little wider.

For those of you who sew Adams Harris has three patterns fitted for Unidoll Jace
      http://www.adams-harris.com/sd_pattern_index.html

I haven't tried them myself but the garments look good.

    15. Yeah, I got another Unidoll body coming in for my Minimee head.

Anyone knows if there's any patterns for "ranger boots" somewhere out there? That fit the UniReal body's big feet? Or anyone who does commissions? I need that kind of boots for my incoming boy. He's an elf and something between ranger and warrior.

I'm talking about boots that are laced up front (or on the side) - kinda like these here:
      http://www.moccasinhouse.com/images/db/large/frontLaceHardsoleBoot.jpg

    16. I can't help much. I only made boots following a moccasin boot pattern instructions and it turned out too big. My EID boy is now wearing the boots :sweat

I've been using sd13 patterns (not the pants) for making clothes for Ark lately, but I did add =/- 5mm extra allowance in the pattern. Then it was just fit and stitch. The chest and sleeves needs the most attention. I made this jacket with the SD13 pattern coat from the third Volks pattern book.

    17. Wow, Sint, that looks so cool! I bet my Luken would kill for a jacket like that! Uh-oh - better not put the idea in his head. :)

Where did you find the moccasin boot pattern, if I may ask?
