1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Elfdoll Tinies Going Limited starting Nov. 15, 2006

Nov 9, 2006

    1. oh, thankyou hibiscus, ah i wasn't aware of that some of them have attached wigs, so are those attached ones glued and hard to get off?
and the thing is, i don't know which are the older elfdolls and which the newer, could anyone list, how they came out chronologically? and from when on the wigs were removable?

ahh, yes, as you say many options, but i am so impatient, i saw MinDelRe, and now i want to hold her in my hands, and i feel like it's gonna be difficult to find her :doh :...(

      sorry, that was offtopic-vent :o :D

    2. All of the Elfdoll tinies, when they first came out, had wigs that were loose hair (mohair?) directly glued to their headcap. And for a while they even sold additional hair wigs created on a headcap. Some people didn't like the original glued hair wig of their doll and would just soak the headcap in warm water to dissolve the glue and throw away the hair, then they had a blank headcap. You could also buy blank headcaps if you wanted to use a regular wig. Regular wigs became available and some of those 3 inch wigs are still available at http://www.bjdollarama.com/Wigs_for_BJDs_s/451.htm (formerly shop4dollsandbears).

Then some Elfdolls were changed to come with microsuede elf outfits and feet that looked like little suede shoes (normal feet included too) - their wigs were colorful faux fur glued to their headcap. Blank headcaps were still available for people who wanted to use regular wigs. The dolls rerleased with the faux fur hair and elf outfits were (I think) Sylph, Lyn, and Adel.

BTW - I noticed BJdollarama is expecting ther own line of tinies made in Asia? Doesn't say resin but maybe they will be. "Coming soon! Pixiez by Free Spiritz Designz 18cm 26cm Sculpted and carefully handcrafted in Asia"

    3. Looking at their faces, it's hard to tell.........but the headcaps on the older dolls have a molded-in resin hook, while the new dolls have the metal hook for attaching the cap. I really lack the skill and patience to reattach fiber into the slots for a custom wig, but the possibilities are pretty tremendous. Wendy came with a wig made from embroidery floss!

I finally gave up in disgruntlement with Min's default hair (I am not her first human) and now she has a darling 'do from Monique.

I have seen Min here, Lyn on ebay, and my Winky is up now, so it IS possible to find a tiny, but you have to seriously hunt and of course be patient!

    4. there were a few Mins come up for sale last month

Im sure you will get one :aheartbea :aheartbea

all of my girls came with the glued on hair
the sisters come with hair glued on
and my Sylph is a first edition , she has the long fair hair and green dress

I bought an extra head cap and made wigs for them ...its what started me off wig making

I wanted wigs for my Elf :)

My Bong , I hated her hair , when I saw the promo pictures of her she had a bob ...when she came with braids ...I was so disapointed
      LOL
I ran her head under a tap , the glue just disolved
so the hair comes off very easy , I just wiped it off and I re wigged her in her mohair "Pumpkin mix" she has been like that ever since
...although she is starting to look a little raggy now I love her to bits

    5. Hijack Hijack

      Pssst
      [IMG]

this is BlueBell ...Bella , she is one of the Prototypes
She is white resin and has teeny elf ears

these are being sold off very cheap Im told ...there are a few left

and the new improved are available ..soon in normal and white resin
      and again a great price

      Perhaps I should start a thread ?
they are a fab doll ...Modders dream ..awake and sleeping head
my girl looks very old fashioned ,she fits Riely ..everything LOL

    6. I think the smaller bust bodies fit better in most of the available clothing, like the Bratz stuff, personally. My larger boobied girls are always a little too exposed for my taste :/ .

I miss the glued-on hair, especially on the Monaemi sisters--I love my Min's messy mop of floss. Most of my others have the fur. From what I understand, the older, floss hair didn't stay in after a while, so that's probably why they switched. I have a Sylph with the original blonde floss cap, but I'm afraid to really use it much. I bought a few headcaps, so I'll be trying my own wigging.

Dodo has a "boobie" body, I imagine Olivia does too. All the elf girls except Winky seem to.

    7. ah carolyn, ok now i get it, so the early ones had mohair (or similar) pieces glued directly on the headcap.
and then the faux fur, i had guessed that when i saw pics of Lyn, but wasn't sure.
and thankyou for the link to bjdollarama, i had seen this one before but didn't know those were wigs made for the elfdoll tinies (i thought they were "just some wigs that fit them").

and hibiscus, wow embroidery floss wig, quite clever, i see what you mean with that there are many possibilities.
yes i will hunt, and i look forward to when i can access the marketplace (should be in about a week i think :D )

tinybear, i am hopeful that more Min's will come up :aheartbea
good to hear that they do come up.
and i will sure be glad to check out your wigs once i get my ToYou and once i get an elfdoll and know, what kind of color wig i want. from looking at pics on your flickr i love the wigs!

      edit:
clochette, we must have posted at the same time:
slowly i am getting the "who's who" of bodies and wigs of all the elfdoll tinies :)
makes me only fall in love more and more with MinDelRe, i think i love the "tiny boobs body" and well i just love her hair, and face, and all of her. :fangirl:

thanks all again for the info! :aheartbea

    8. Those bjdollarama wigs can also be used with Banji - they are a little looser on Banji though. And some of the styles would need major glue for Elfdoll or Banji because of their weight distribution or minimal cap. The best balanced/fitting ones are the bobs, cute little girls, straight with bangs, and "short cute with bows" looks like it would fit well. Some of the others have very small flat caps or lots of weight somewhere to drag it off the head (like the ponytail). People have done some cute things with the super long wavy too.

Here is a thread about the wigs including photos:
      http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51746

And tinybear - yeah I think you should start a thread about those new dolls.

      Carolyn

    9. ah thankyou carolyn, that thread with the wigs is helpful! :aheartbea

    10. I don't think you can buy the blank headcaps anymore though you might be able to find one by doing a WTB: in the Marketplace. You need a blank headcap to use the wigs at bjdollarama. It would be a real shame at this point to destroy any original Elfdoll glued hair wigcap so hopefully anyone who wants to use the separate wigs can find a blank headcap.

      Carolyn

    11. ah good, if i get a Min sometime, i would want to keep her wig/headcap anyway, but i would buy some of those headcaps to have the possibility to put another wig on her then!

    12. $2.00 good price ...Im sure I paid more than that

...but I did get mine from the notorious Dolly Paradise , so I suppose I was lucky I even got them at all :(

I have just realise I dont know if I have a head cap for Jin ...she is sitting looking sad ...not hard for her as she hasnt got a posh wig like her sisters

I think I will make her a nice bright yellow one :aheartbea
and call her Sunshine ...she hasnt got a name yet :)

    13. Hey, how did we miss this:
Or am I just blind and didn't see it discussed...?
Hopefully it's a rerelease of the three girls, and Jin and Bong can come home.

    14. Wow! I missed that too---thanks, Clochette!! (Min twins, what a temptation!!)

    15. YES!
and i just got an email, from dollsandfriends, because i emailed them (in hope they would have a forgotten Min for me, yeah i know, i am naively hopeful, that's me)
      and she wrote back:
where did you read it on elfdoll.com? i can't see this message?
      is it a popup?

      :aheartbea :aheartbea :aheartbea
      YAYYYY!! i'll get a Min!!!

edit: nevermind i found it, under "announcements"

hmmm i wonder if they will be the same, or if "new edition" means, they will be slightly changed? what do you think?
also do you think they will be possible to order normally, or will they maybe be limited?
when catsy came out again, she was (still is) possible to order normally no?

    16. congratulations
to all of you after the sisters :)

    17. Does happy dance. I want to order Min

    18. check out http://elfdoll.com/index.php, there is a flash-thing running at the top, with the "new" monnaemi sisters :O

they look different, different wigs/hair and face-up's from what i can tell. i was kind of hoping for an "original Min" :( hmmmm *waiting for more info*

      edit:
...but i think i am falling in love with this "new" Min too.. :) (but i will have to try getting an original Min wig [headcap with original Min hair], or somehow try making one myself!)

    19. It looks like Rainman redid them to look a little older.

I hope they are the same scale as the first ones. I just couldn't bring myself to buy Jin but this new mold definitely appeals to me!

And once again I love Min! I might need a Min twin!
