Elfdoll Tinies Going Limited starting Nov. 15, 2006

I ordered a Bong and the base through dollsandfriends they are taking preorders, luckily. It allows me to get Bong and not blow my possible Dolpa NY budget.

 

For now, I'd try Denver Dolls or BJDollrama. Janis at Sunrise used to sell them, but she doesn't sell BJD things any longer.

There is a picture of a brand-new 14cm girl on the Cyworld Elfdoll Club page, but we don't know if she'll be for sale or if she's just one of Rainman's sculptures--personally, I'm hoping she's the new tiny they talked about. If she is the new girl, perhaps they'll re-release the extra parts as well. We can hope.

I'm glad Sabrina explained what the "base" was or I might have thought it was a face up or something.

But I got that too!

thankyou clochette, i emailed both shops, denverdoll wrote back (with lightningspeed :O ) that they are sold out of them, but if they get offered again from elfdoll, they'd definitely reorder them. and have not heard back from bjdollarama yet.

she looks an interesting mix of more mature in her face, but still very young, quite cool! can't wait to hear more about her. (btw i joined that cyworld place, seems like a cool place

once more, does anyone know the stories of the original Monnaemi sisters? i would especially like to hear MinDelRe's story

Her name is Ggonzi!!! And I'm pretty sure that's the Rainman's hand holding her. Swoon.




annina: Someone here on the board once mentioned that the three sisters were modeled after Rainman's own daughters. I'm not sure if the story is still out there to read or not.

There was a bit of a controversy (so I understand) when he first released them because some people made fun of the molds which is unkind since they are in his children's images.

But, of course, as you now know, they have become very popular and people love the way their personalities shine through and adore the way they don't look "perfect" like a barbie doll, but full of love and character and natural beauty!

ah thankyou, i didn't know they were made in the image of his daughters, that's so cute! yes, they are so very loveable because they are not barbie-perfect, much more interesting, just like each of us (humans) is unique

 

Oooh, Ggonzi looks so cute!!!

I hope that Rainman does release her. With the right faceup, she could become a very cute smiley girl. A perfect little sister for my Elf Uyoo.

delicateangel is very correct , I can remember talking bout Bong when she was first released and there were some very rude and immature comments about her


a bit insulting when you had just spent over $250 on one
and as RainMan is a member of DOA too

but then the new regs came on the board and that sort of thing isnt allowed anymore

I also think sculpts are much more realistic and adventurous now
Bong was well ahead of her time ...its great to see her back again and with so many new fans

Interesting...she's presented as if she's new, "the birth of". She must have been absent for a while. A bit ago--like, after the whole poll/naming thing--he spoke of releasing a "tiny for Ryung fans", so I was hoping she was it.

I wonder what this one is made from? You can see grey/white on a couple of her joints in that pic.

 

yes i also wonder what she is made of, and as you say, i was confused cause he does present her as if she is new, but the date on some messages was 2003 something...
maybe she is re-born?? maybe he is thinking of some nice day releasing her? time will tell, i would definitely love that.

 

It's nice to see that they are releasing the Monnaemi sisters again, but I'm also really happy that I managed to get an "old" Bong Sun Hwa. I really prefer the previous versions of the trio, and if I had only seen the new ones, I probably wouldn't have started liking Bong that much...

 

Yes, I also believe the head molds are the same, but it's the face-ups that I don't like that much, and the new limited dolls are also a bit more expensive... so, if I hadn't managed to get an older Bong, I would have had to pay more for a doll whose look I would have had to alter.

Yeah, I truly hope Rainman does release Ggonzi. No matter what, I will try to get her. She can be a sister to my Min.

I don't know how to become a member of Elfdollclub.com but you can easily post there without membership. Maybe he meant the Cyworld club? I don't know.
