Elysium Doll discussion

Don't worry Eidolon, I know it wasn't at me XD. I don't really mind the shinyness anyway XD and I'm far from thinking it's an ugly body n.n;; . If anyone gets one please tell me how well it poses, that's mostly what interests me n.n.

Elysium has a Hugo Specific body for sale, right now, which is not the same body as the Axel-N has. Elysium stated that the Hugo line of heads don't fit their other body, I imagine it's a neck issue.

I contacted them quite some time ago, regarding their Beauty White version of the Hugo Specific body, and they finally got back to me, today.

-_- At this moment, the BW Hugo Specific body is not available, but that it will be within the next 5-6 months. This seems to correspond with the rerelease of Hugo.

Oh! *head desk* I forgot to say here.

I saw a Dollshe White in person, and put my Elysium White up next to it reaaaalll close.

It is not a 'match', but it's extremely close, and I think that blushing can easily handle the discrepency. I am not sure if my Elysium white is standard of Elysium white, as it is 'beauty green', but my specific head can probably get away with dollshe white pretty easily.

I'm getting a Domuya Flexi in the mail, sometime, too. It's a normal skin, and I have previously suspect that it'd match Elysium normal in the past, so I can update on that, as you like.

I feel like a field researcher.

 

I'd love for them to re-release frowning Hugo too, he was my original target head .

I ran the msg above through another online translator, and it says that the Hugo (normal skin) will be released at the end of the month of April, so maybe it is at the end of this month~ *hurries around and feeds bank account*

 

4 MONTH means APRIL!!!
5-6 MONTH means MAY - JUNE

Muunu's pretty much got the gist about the translation (It's something along this line: "We plan to release the normal skin Hugo head at the end of April". Elysium will be selling the Hugo head at the end of April so those who wants the head, keep your EYES PEELED! xD *is keeping her eyes peel @_@ *

In Japan and in Korea, there are no names for the months like we have here in America. They call it, " the 4th month, the 1st month, the 8th month" and so forth. Since you guys didnt know that, you probably thought they'd sell it in 4 months.. Thankfully that's not the case! ^_^

The Hugo white skin wont be out until May or June. I'm thinking late May, early June. I dont know when AX is, but isnt it around late June? I think you still have time to save.

 

If anyone's interested, there's a damaged Hugo-MN on Y!japan. Looks like they opened the eyes slightly, and narrowed the nose. The Engrish translation says the head's a 'rough'....

The mods actually don't look half bad, they don't take away from the 'Elysium look'. Sometimes when people open those eyes, it just makes th em stop looking like Elysium heads.

 

Thats a really good deal!!! It's like ~$30 bucks for the Hugo MN... but it might go up since theres still 4 days left on the clock. :T

 

Oh wow, are they really rereleasing the original Hugo head? He would be PERFECT for one of my characters but it is such a hard head to find I gave up.

Hmm, I wonder if he will fit a Dollstown 15boy body? SD13 boy heads fit them well, and Hugo heads are supposed to go on SD13 boy bodies . . . so I'd imagine that it would work, anyway.

Now to wait! the end of April is so close though, I hope that is what they actually meant! *doesn't speak a word of japanese*

 

It looks like someone bid 3,000y on it already, yeah. I've seen many shopping services recommended, including Rinkya (the place I use when I'm doing lazy translations). I think a few others are Shopping Mall Japan, Japan Shopping Center, and Mail Order Japan.

I have an account at Rinkya set up 'just in case', but I've never used it. I've heard lots of good things about all of these providers. Good luck, Damask, I know you've wanted one for ages... or at least, ever since I was mean and introduced you to Elysium Doll. *laugh*

To answer your question, Dolly, I am fairly sure that Elysium would be a resin match for Dollstown, since Dollstown Normal matches Volks Pureskin, however I'm not certian that the head would 'look right' on the body offhand.

The Hugo line seems to be rather big-headed, to me, and I personally prefer the head on a 70cm body. Hoooowever, SD13-SD16 are both recommended for the Elsyium heads, this heard directly from Elysium themselves.

Although many/most? people do prefer the SD13 ratio of head to shoulder span, since 60cm bodies are still the most common body option for Elysium owners on DoA (Dollshe is the most common for those in Asia), sooo, it's kind of your call as far as that bit goes.

Be warned, though, that Hugos have huge neck holes, and that can be quite problematic at times to fit.

eta: *randomly* I wonder if this Hugo rerelease will be in Oldskin or Newskin? I know that Hugo came before the color change, and that there are some -SNs that were made before the change, and some after. I guess it'd make sense for them to use their Newskin, since they wanted to match Volks Pureskin better.

 

You have to bid 3000 + 100 yen or more. That's what the 100 is for. It's the amount of increment increase in addition to the bid price. So if the price jumps to 3050, you're expected to bid 3150. Or 4000, you're suppose to bid 4100 and so forth. As long as the increment is more than 100 yen.

The buy option's usually high lighted in a pale orangish color indicating the price amount. I want to say it's mainly located between the bid unit and start date of bidding, but I'm not too sure. Unfortunately there is no buy option on this item.

I have Shopping Mall Japan and it works pretty well. It'll probably take days (30?) until you get an account. But the shipping's great cuz it comes quickly. So I like it and unfortunately bidding can become addicting after awhile with their ease of service.... XD

Starting price, 30,000 with incremental bids of 100 yen each.. Opening bid is 30,000 yen. Every time you bid, you have to bid in measurements of 100 yen. So you can bid 30,100, 30,500, 40,000, but not 40,004. Get it?

Not all shopping services take 30 days to activate. Rinkya takes 1-2 days, but most of them do require a credit card. I hear that a few places are willing to work out deals (because they're small business) if you're demonstrated trustworthy and whatnot. Hard to say.

 

It's great to see this thread here. Elysium needs more love!

I have personally seen Tree's Elysium Hugo SN up close and personal and found him wonderfully striking and handsome. I wish more dolls had a more mature look to them.

I don't have any problem with the shiny body. I HAVE a shiny body with my OD Tae and I know I could matte it down if I wanted to, but I am fine with the glossy look. Hatori is photographed with his clothes on so it doesn't matter.

 

I love my Hugo-SN, even with his slightly 80s glam faceup, I feel that he's masculine. -SNs have such strong cheek bones, and the slope from cheekbone to jawline is so feline and fantastic. And that little bulge right at the eyebrows to show a tense brow. It's awesome, I love it.

I don't know if I'm going to be able to get one of their bodies. -_- It's just not going to work out for me money wise, I think. *sigh* I don't think one's going to show up on the aftermarket, either. At least, not on DoA.

Yes, that's partially right, however, that doesnt mean you'll overbid the highest bidder.

Example: the Hugo head starts with bid price, $30 (~3,000 yen). They want you to bid with a difference of atleast $1 (~100 yen). So bids start at $31 and up ($31-$30=$1). Say you bid $35 (difference of 5 which is more than 1, (35-30=5)) and you get listed as highest bidder. Then someone puts down $40. This person has just overbid you. The bid price will then increase to...lets say $35. Even tho bid price has gone up, the next bid should still be a difference of $1. Say you put down $38. (difference is $3 (38-35)), but since your bid $38 is less than the person who puts down $40, the other person still has the highest bid. Unfortunately, you will not know what they've put down, you can only estimate. In a situation where you're losing the bid, you can continue to guess so you can overbid or you can quit when the price becomes unreasonably high.

Auctions are usually a win-lose situation that requires risks and gambles. The question is, are you willing to take it? Probably not. :P

As for Shopping Mall Japan, their service's good. I think if you ask them then the process might be faster.
