Elysium Doll discussion

I don't think they're selling the body seperately yet? You can order one only if you have a Hugo type head, if i'm not mistaken.

 

They're already selling the body. They have the body under Special Doll category. The impression I got was that the body can be sold separately whether you have a Hugo head or not, but its preferable since the body is made for Hugo heads.

 

Ah, you're right, they are selling it seperately , it's under the "Ball Jointed Doll" section though.

I can't remember where i read it, the part about the bodies being sold only for Hugo heads...i did remember something about posting a picture of your Hugo on their BBS as proof or purchase or something. No matter, it doesn't say that you can't buy one if you don't have a head on their sales page anyway

 

Finally got around to taking some pictures of the Elysium body! Keep in mind that I was doing my best to flatter it, and the hand shown in close up is already quite modified. And uh, these might not be the nice side by side comparisons you were hoping for. Click picture for more.

St. James: How well does he pose?

I've decided I want Hugo with a body now....

 

Daniel is now my least reliable stander - and I have a Dollshe girl body and a Dolkot boy body so that's saying a lot. There are some things that need fixing before he'll stand. His butt needs reshaping where it meets the back of his thighs, otherwise the vaguely locking double-jointed knees can't work. His ankle balls need to be shaved down so that they fit into the sockets smoothly with room for sueding. He's very lovely sitting down though. Except for the overly long forearms.
I'll try to document all of his before and after mods, but it will be at least few weeks before I'm done.

 

I had a haunch that body had trouble standing. All the pictures with the body on the official page looked like it was supported by the wall.

At my house, Hugo is on a DZ 70cm body, and it's a really nice match for scale and color.

 

Yes,DOLLZONE's color is match HUGO quite well,
I used to use DZ 70CM body on my HUGO,but I think it's a little rigid...
So I want to get a flexible one

HUGO's face is very long, abio angel body is too short to him,I think.

I can take ugly cell phone pics, which imho can be a bit charming when it comes to wholly made up dolls, but for blank dolls it's pretty useless. -_- I do love my head, I'm definately glad I bought him even though I wasn't sure I wanted him anymore (too long wanting without actual success, you know). I named him Hessian, and he's going to be on a 70cm body.

Here is my Axel head on an SD16 body. The fit is just about perfect. Color, proportions...it's...like buttah.

How does he look standing/interacting with other dolls? Does he look in scale or does he look a bit big/small?

aquarius85: I got the whole Axel doll and St.James, bless her heart, ended up with the body. I kept the head and put it on an SD16 body. Despite some, er, posing idiosyncracies (Oh, idrisfynn, if you are reading this, that weird ball we found actually belongs inside Ed's back. ), I am very, very happy with the results of the graft.

For aquarius85, who wanted to know how he looked with other dolls, Here are some pictures of Edward with his old boss, Eric Tseng. Tseng is on an SD13 long-legged boy body.



Oh lord...belly shot...let's just imagine Ed has been, um, running, and is disheveled from, um, running and stuff.



I personally think the two look just fine next to one another.
