Email invitations issued for "Tenshi-no-Sumika in LA&qu

Yes that is why I was kinda worried... I am trying to figure out when to book a hotel if I was only going to be able to go to the sunday opening but as it is maybe I will just wait till monday to go...*sigh*

 

People more familiar with Volks have explained that you draw numbers to get into the store. This keeps people from lining up extremely early or even trying to camp out. If everyone gets there between 10:30 & 11:00 and draws numbers, they then line up in order of those numbers. That way you go in in a much more orderly fashion. We did this at IFDC and it did make sense. The only problem there was that they had no idea how much they had caught on here and only had 6 SD's for sale. Last year they had a hard time selling 3 I think. I'm certainly would imagine they have MUCH more stock now and are prepared to let everyone in the store, just not all at once.

 

Rar. This is silly. (I'm sorry. I'm actually a big fan of first come first serve. I'm not willing to camp out all night, but if someone else is then they probably deserve to get in first. Extra effort and all that.) Oh well, that's what I get for not being in charge of everything. ^_^

I can't imagine making plane ticket arrangements if I wasn't sure I could get in. I might have tried to get in before, but the drawing isn't till the 7th and that's probably way too late to get tickets. Rar. Guess I'm sitting this one out. (harumph)

Do they ever have special events other than openings at the international store? Maybe I'll just try for one of those.

O god !!!I just realized that even I got the invitation Email for volks doens't mean I can go to the tea party
I really worry about the parking ,and I won't be able to get into the store on 20th.

 

Hi, I'm sorry, but I am very confused about all of this. I received an email invitation today too from Volks, but there is no link to anything in my email, and it says nothing about passwords to register or rules. The opening of the email is the same as was given in the first post of this thread, but after the "We are truly looking forward to seeing you" part, it just gives the date, hours, location, and link to a map with directions. Did other people receive this email also, and then maybe later a second more detailed email with the other information or what? I was wondering if it was because I was slow getting my dolls registered? I didn't register my dolls until last Friday night (sorry to mess up your count Kelly ops. My dolls haven't appeared on the Volks website yet, but at least I guess this means that they received my information or I wouldn't have gotten any email at all.

 

While I have never been in Japan during an After Event, generally after the LEs are gone, the stores quiet down a lot. I had a friend go to the Osaka Sumika for me the same day as the Nagoya AE, and I'm sure earlier in the day it was a madhouse. By the time she went, it was 3ish, all the LEs (but Michael) were long gone, and she had no problem getting into the store. ^^;;

Depending on how many LEs they have, yes there is a possibilty you could not get one, however if you're going to see other collectors, to see the store, to do FCS, to buy a non LE doll, I would think you will be able to get in, it's more a matter of getting in early for those who want LEs.

I would think if someone has been wanting a standard line doll, this would be a terrific time to get one. They're probably all in stock and most people probably plan to buy a LE(s) rather than a standard.

I admit, I too prefer the first come first serve model over raffles, as I usually have terrible luck with those. lol

Sorry if you've done this, but did you scroll all the way down? I first read mine and since the email cut off after the map I thought it was over and was like "Where are my passwords?"

Then I scrolled down and found all the extra info.

My passwords *STILL* will not get me into the usafaq section with the one-off info. RAUGH!

 

The opening on the 20th of November as I understand it is for the general public and will be open to all, they're only limiting the entrance at the beginning to purchase the limited dolls. The "Opening Reception" on the 19th is limited to 100 people, the lottery will be drawn on Nov. 7.

 

So does everyone think that Monday will be a nice quiet day to get a FCS doll? I mean will they be open on monday ?

That still is thankgiving week lots of people on vacation ...I just dont want to feel rushed or pushed through the whole experience of getting a FCS doll because there area ton of people there at opening..the more and more I see it the less I want to go for opening so I am considereing Monday...

 

That sounds like a good idea, but I haven't seen anything posted yet about the regular store hours.

Have you checked your Spam folder? The email is from [email protected] and could easily land there because of the odd spelling in the title.
