1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

English Lessons from Volks for well wishes!

Aug 20, 2005

    1. I don't have paypal but my boyfriend does, so if everyone felt comfortable we could paypal him our donations and then make a group donation on a set day. There are also a few different opitons for doantions so we would have to decide on that also.

    2. I'm game! I'm game!

I am officially forever a fan and ardent defender of all things Volks. What they've done is kind, generous, classy... wonderfull... decent... amazing.

Whatever I can do for these guys, I'll do it. That, folks, is philanthropy.

    3. Hi Sarah!

OMG! That is so sweet! Thank you so much for the great write-up -- it was like being there! I'm looking forward to seeing all your pics and your lovely Toppi (my dream doll)! Let me know when you get back if you would like me to put together a webpage for you. It would be my pleasure!

    7. Thank you for sharing your experience with us, Sarah. It warms my heart that the company that makes the dolls that bring people so much joy are themselves good people :daisy

    11. Sarah's original post. It took me about 15 minutes to convert!

      -----------------------

It's me! Thank you all so much for the warm wishes!

Iam here in an internet cafe in Kyoto. Yesterday was the Dollpa and the day before I got to visit Tenshi No Sato!

Volks was so wonderful. I thought we were going to look around like any other visitor. When we got to the entrance, there was a sign with my name on it! MIKEY gave me a tour around Tenshi no Sato. Her father was with us too, Mr. President! He was so nice to me and very charismatic even though he did not speak english. MIKEY said he is the godfather, he gets to name all of the dolls. She said he makes many of them up!I told Mikey that I had heard Aimee had gone there and she says she remembers taking you out to dinner well!

Tenshi no Sato is so beautiful.Ihope some day you all get to go. I got to see their fat koi outside! MIKEY says her parents feed them a lot so they are fat. Just then Mr. President went over to feed them more. I got to meet his wife, and her mother. She was very quiet. But MIKEY and Mr. President agreed, she was the boss! And, the very sweetest part, they allowed me to pick out a doll from FCS! Never in my wildest dreams had I imagined that would happen.I am so excited. But thats not the end. The president drove us back to our hotel himself! He has a mercedes.

The next day was Dollpa Nagoya. Shino-san, MIKEY‘s sister, met us outside. She looks a lot like MIKEY! Although she denies it. On the train Volks had texted our guide from M-A-W and asked if we wanted to buy a festival doll. My mom agreed that we could buy Toppi. She is such a cutie! But when We got there, Mr. President said he would buy her for me! We tried to protest but he was so insistent. He said to spend our money buying clothing. So we did! Everyone was sooo nice. Many gave me photos of their dolls. I Will have to make a photo album of them.

This trip was probably one of the best, if not the best experience of my life.

Toppi says hi to all of you!

      Thank you again!!

      Sarah

    12. What a wonderful wish granted :) And it sounds like the nice folks at Volks were as thoughtful and kind as ever. I'm so glad you had a good time and curious folks are eagerly waiting to meet your new kids! ^^

    13. Wow -- how wonderful!! :D :D :D

Sarah, I am so happy for you! I hope the rest of your trip is as excellent (if you are still in lovely Japan), and we all look forward to your photos of your trip and the dolls! :D

I am so happy to hear how nice the Volks folk were! ^^ I shall go tell my dolls all about your post, and I am sure they will be pleased. ^^

I hope I get a chance to meet MIKEY at some event one day, as I would love to express my appreciation to her in person for the incredibly lovely work she has done designing dolls. ^^

Congratulations! :D :D Looking forward to seeing pictures of your FCS!! May the warm wishes and joys of this trip carry you far! :)

    14. that is one of the sweetest thigns I've ever heard ^_^
it really proves that not all of humanity is crap.

    15. Sarah-i am so glad that your most wonderful wish came true & i too look forward to your story & photos. *hugs*

    16. Ooo I didn't know that, that's cool. Should I create a new thread about the donations or create a sig with a link to this thread?

    17. No offence, but rather than pool a large sum of money with a third party who is unaccountable and not vouched for by anyone I know personally, I think it's much wiser to make a personal donation to the charity.

      (referring to the suggestion below)

    18. Most charities will keep track of group donations for you. So, if you just let Make-a-Wish know that they will be receiving a number of donations from Den of Angels members, they will be able to give you a total eventually. I work for a non-profit and our Development department is very good about tracking donations.

    19. I went back and edited my post...I was referring to Squllu's suggestion that her boyfriend collect the DoA donations and then hand them to the charity. ^_^

Reading your post, it seems the charity could pool the donations themselves when we each donate personally as DoA members? That would be much better for my peace of mind. ^_^

      P/S: Apologies to AmnesticAngel and Sarah for pushing this post a little bit OT! ^_^;

    20. I figured that's what you meant, Shan, and I agree with you. My apologizes as well for the OT.
