1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Entering your doll in a fair

Jun 28, 2010

    1. Iv never thought about entering any of my dolls in the fair.. I know you can, and it seems its rather lax here about what dolls you can enter and how big, 30inches tall is the limit here. I dont think I ever thought of entering is because its something I wouldnt even consider. I went this year and looked in on the cake decorating, it was just the second day of the fair and already all the cakes had finger gouges, smears on them, parts missing. It was horrible! If people cant restrain themselves from touching some cakes, then can you imagine the dolls? I dont even like entering art anymore because people touch them. x.x.. And you arent the one to set them up, you merely drop them off, and the people set them up! Touching, moving, jostling.. I would not enter any of my lovelies into the fair. Nope.

    2. well, since my area/country doesn't have any fairs like the kind you mean, i've never thought about it. i do see dolls at cosplay conventions and other related conventions though. but personally, i worry enough bringing my dolls out as it is, so i would probably not enter them in anything where i have to keep my attention on them for extended periods of time. it's just really tiring for me. and that's even without thinking about the lighting and humidity and stuff that might be bad for my dolls.

    3. You could try entering a photography contest with you doll if you want to expose people to the hobby. I know they are behind glass so I wouldn't be so concerned about it being lost or stolen. But the heat at the fair would be my biggest fear unless its in an airconditioned building.... It gets really hot inside some of those barns.... that and some of the exibits get lots of sun when the light comes in through the doors....

    4. If you were willing to keep a close eye on her, then it would be okay.
I think it would be a great way to tell others about bjd's! And who knows, you might meet some local Bjd lovers by accident!

But definitely keep a close watch on her, even behind glass.

    5. In my opinion, I'd double check if the fair would insurance the doll so if anything happened to it, you could at least get a new one. Personally I'd be way too paranoid to ever enjoy a fair if I was away from my doll for that long.
