1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Ever Been Spooked (Directly or Indirectly) By Your Doll?

Mar 1, 2007

    1. Haha! To add to the thread, today I found fresh tiny scratch marks on my arm the size of my SD boy's hands... i don't remember anything scraping against me but I was stringing my doll earlier. It was pretty creepy and funny. Luckily my new Sabik is too kind looking to scare me.

    2. Thus far, I've never been scared of dolls, BJDs or otherwise.
The closest I came was when my nephew got ahold of one of my mom's dolls, a Baby Face doll, and snuck it into my bedroom at night. I woke up early morning to see this weird doll laying in the middle of my floor, a creepy grin on it's face, and arms reaching out like it was going to strangle me. Being half-asleep at that moment, I stared at it, and then took it downstairs and spent to next hour trying to clean its face which was all dirty for some reason. Then I returned it to my mom.
While we don't have any BJDs in my house, between me and my mom, we have enough dolls to drown someone. Everywhere from Barbies, to Gene's, to Madam Alexander and such. My mom collects vintage dolls.

    3. oh no XD
      i like my doll!

    4. If the dolls are not here with me, i will be afraid. = =
I love them and i need them...

    5. I like that, isabear! :)

I've never been afraid of mine. I did have one girl that made me desperately uncomfortable for reasons I have never quite figured out. Had to sell her along. That was more "active dislike" though, not fear.

If my crew came to life I'd be beside myself with joy. And probably grumping later on with having to pick up after them... ;)

    6. My doll is to tiny to actually scare me, but she has kinda creeped me out. She won't stand on one leg unless I say in my mind "stand, honey, stand!" When I take her out of her bed in the morning, her hair is messed up! She's still my little baby though.

    7. My doll doesn't creep me out. She's a nice girl!

I do get creeped out by other bjds, though..

My boyfriend and sister (the only two people in my family that even know about my doll) are both creeped out by her a little. They've both threatened me at times with, "I swear to the gods, if it moves, I'll kill it." Hah, hah.

    8. I've never really been scared by my boy per-say...In fact, like quite a few others who've posted in this thread, I feel more like he protects me. The only time though, that he ever really made me nervous was about a week ago when a male friend of mine came to hang out with me and I brought Al with us. As soon as we (Me, Al and my friend) stepped out the door to go to the park, I swear Al's expression changed from it's usual bored, contented look, to one of the darkest glares I've ever seen. It wasn't until my friend left that his face lightened slightly, but he kept a stern face for the rest of the next day.
Again, it didn't really scare me, but it had me a little more cautious that day.

As for actual possession, if Al were to become possessed by a wandering spirit/soul looking for a host that had no intention on doing me any harm, I think I'd be just fine with it, after I got used to it.
A demon possession, though, is another story altogether...Even though I'm not religious, I would most likely have my grandmother take me to her church and have him exorcized, with the hopes that they didn't force me to burn him afterwards...

    9. I know I've jumped a few times I saw Knox, but only cause I myself did a double take and thought he'd changed positions.
This is quite odd but I would love it if my dolls moved. (Kind of like Toy Story!) However, I'm also a fraidy cat (is the the word?).
I follow a lot of supernatural stories and unexplainable phenomina. I wouldnt be afraid of my BJD's coming to life, but I would be mortified if my American girl came to life. I never did anything bad to her, but she just sort of has that baby face, like porcelain Dolls.

    10. As promised, here's the pic of Mabel borrowing Woosoo's eyes, that turned out being pretty creepy. The ones with flash were creepier.

I love my dolls a lot too. I've gotten really close and attached to them but that doesn't mean I'm not creeped out every so often because of certain odd situations. The only one I've felt 100% not scared of and comfortable with is my Soom Sabik Elf for some reason. He really calms me.

    11. haha, i know a few people that strangely believe that dolls are like a container for "evil souls" or junk. i don't believe in any of that, personally. i've also never been afraid of my dolls, but it's understandable how some might be :>

    12. I never be afraid of dolls at all, humans scared me more, but some of my friends are of my kids, one of my friends called them chukys,(for the movie) and tell me that they dont understand how i can sleep with them in the bed next to mine XD

    13. Pascal and Pzycho haven't even arrived and I'm already scared to death of them (horror mods and very nasty attituded gangsters from the 1920s)

    14. Only once...
I had him sitting on my desk at one point, and I went downstairs to do something.. and when I came back upstairs he wasn't there, at first I panicked, seeing as I have dogs who will eat anything and everything, but it didn't take long before I just looked down, and that's when I got a bit spooked. He had fallen on the ground, and he looked like he was crawling toward me ._.;; I made sure from then on, that my dolls didn't stand, or sit too near the edges of things >.>

    15. Why did you buy horror mods that you are afraid of I wonder XD XD

    16. I slept next to one of my dolls for the first time last night and wasn't afraid at all XD I'm getting braver. However, on some nights I hear weird clicky noises that sound like my dolls could be walking around. Usually I just tell myself it's the walls creaking, but sometimes I do get up to check that they're still where I left them XD

    17. I don't think the doll would scare, maybe the personality I gave the dolls character, but not the doll.
Though there was one instance where my puki gave me a little scare. I leave him on this big chair I have in my room at night with the rest of my dolls, but I woke up and he was on my pillow. It was a little freakish, but Im sure it was just my cat dragging him across the room like she usually does. Poor dolly. XD

    18. You made me laugh out loud! But yes, I'm more afraid of myself buying too many dolls and becoming overwhelmed with dolls and all their accessories.

    19. In A word......."NO"

    20. Lol the mods don't scare me at all. Their personallities do. Ones a schitzo and the other was a gangster who got shot when he tried to escape Alcatraz. 0.o' skeery thoughts man skeery thoughts lmao
